Clean, bright and spacious with outside seating. Grilled prawns was delicious and perfectly cooked! Margarita drink was great! 😊 We've been coming here occasionally in the past 35 years since we don't live in the area. Will definitely come back again.

This place never disappoints - I used to eat here all time but haven’t been in a long time . It is wonderful to see that the flavors haven’t changed . You can feel the freshness at every bite . I highly recommend their artichoke enchiladas and grilled steak crisy taco combo - extremely friendly owner and staff - thank you Peppers

If you're looking for a great Mexican restaurant in Pacific Grove, you need look no further. Peppers offers a wide range of classic Mexican dishes. All our dishes were delicious and flavorful. Good portion sizes at reasonable prices. Friendly and accommodating staff. Fast service.

We love going here. Food is amazing. Service is great! Cocktails are on another level. Husband loves the Serrano infused margarita. Zach is an awesome and very attentive server.?recommend 190%

Got the beef enchiladas and tamales! Got the Cosmo and blood orange margarita which were very good and also strong. Also got the Mexican Chocolate Cake, which was amazing, but be aware that it's not like a "regular" chocolate cake. The food was soooo good, my only complaint is that it was gone too fast 😭

Genuine & Authentic - and that applies to the food and the wait staff. This is my 2nd visit to the Monterey area in 3 weeks, and all I’ve done in between was talk about Peppers!

Juan was our waiter both times - 1st time by chance, 2nd time by request. Since most fantastic restaurants aren’t self-serve, the experience I have with my wait staff can make or break my dining experience, regardless of how fantastic the food is. Juan was genuinely friendly. He made it feel as if you were dining at his house. Juan made Peppers perfect.
-Speaking of perfection - the food was fantastic. It was nice to see tourists and locals all enjoying the incredible food here. Juan had suggested some off menu tacos, when I told him I used to perform in Mexico - Tacos al Carbon. Simple grilled, uber tender strips of marinated beef served with tortillas, rice, whole beans, salsa. Like Pavlov’s dog I’m drooling typing this. This tasted like my memories. The margaritas from their full bar knocked it out of the park for me. Chips come to the table thin, fresh and warm. Red and green salsas are yum.
-I highly recommend Peppers. It’s worth the short drive if staying Monterey.

We chose to eat in their outdoor dining area. It’s a large space with propane and electric heaters. There is a plethora of thriving succulent plants adding to the atmosphere. The food was delicious. We will definitely dine here again soon.

Wow! If this review would allow me to give 6 stars or more, I would. The owner, Lisa, was so personal and hospitable that I felt like a star in Hollywood. The food was exceptional and the drinks were nothing short of excellent. I truly recommend Peppers Mexicali Cafe if you’re looking for great food, great drinks and most of all…family friendly service. Thank you Lisa!!!

As usual, my wife and I turned up at the busiest period with no booking. The place was packed to the gills. Asked for a table and told it would be a 20minute wait. Browsed the menu while seated at the bench and watched the locals enjoying themselves. Shown to the table which we were delighted with and quickly ordered our meals. We both had the combo meals and a cocktails. Served some chips and salsa while we weee eating.
Finished up with desert of something called Pupusette ??
Everything was absolutely delicious. Including the drinks. The desert was massive. The server advised that our choice was big and suggested we share rather than order a desert each. Wise words. Left the restaurant with a full belly and many happy memories

I can’t get enough of these mahi mahi tacos and blood orange margarita, this is a great place and the outside seating is so comfortable on these sunny winter days.

A fun place to eat, with fancier than usual Mexican food, all delicious. Popular place, lively diners, friendly staff (Max was delightful as our waiter). Worth going!

Came here with the party of seven after visiting the Monterey Bay aquarium. It's right across the street from the PG natural History museum as well. They take reservations, and we had a wonderful time here after a busy day of sightseeing. Seemed less crowded than the Cannery Row area.

Why did I not take a photo of my amazing food?? Because we dove right in as soon as it landed on the table, sorry! 😅 I've been there twice now, both times got the fajitas.
They are AMAZING. we always get an extra order or their obviously homemade flour tortillas as well. The quality of the meat and veggies is top notch, so fresh. Cooked and seasoned perfectly! Looking forward to trying many other items as well. Next on my list is their grilled prawns...a lady next to us got them and they look fantastic!
Don't think twice about coming here, you'll love it. Great food, great service with both indoor and patio dining available. Enjoy!

Outstanding service and food. Ask for Juan as your server. He is outstanding. The food is so fresh and tasty and authentic. This is the best place in Monterey and Pacific Grove. Great margaritas too!

One of the best authentic Mexicali restaurants in Monterey! The service was excellent (Juan) was super friendly, helpful, checked on us at the right times. Food came out fast, hot and soooo Yummy!

My go to order is the two item combo with a chicken taco and a beef enchilada. The fluffy crispy taco shell is very delicious and the freshest ingredients of Lettuce tomato cheese balance it out. Did I mention how fresh everything is?

Also the chips were really good and they give you a red and green salsa that was also delicious

Peppers has a really expensive tequila bar selection my wife had the blood orange margarita which was really great and I had the ultimate margarita which is pretty fantastic

You don’t get the view like El Torritos. But it’s very charming place, fun, Excellent service and food

Love this place! Been coming here for a few years now! This is our must eat at spot every time we come to Monterey! I have yet to be disappointed in this place!

This was our first time here as suggested from a friend. We have been going to every Mexican restaurant in the area as time allows (and Covid permits). Happy to say Peppers #1) has excellent food and 2) has wonderful staff. I had a cheese enchilada w/red sauce and beef burrito. Very good and plenty of food (I was able to finish my plate). CHP's & salsa (law enforcement joke) were OK but not great. Top shelf margarita was excellent. Pricing was fair in this generally overpriced economy we live in. Parking at 4:30 on a Friday was easy but the place was filling up FAST! I definitely recommend Peppers and we will be going back many times.

10/10 would recommend the Ultimate Margarita for an ultimate good time! Great service! Tasty guacamole! And family friendly! Also will help you if you lose your car keys!

Super enchiladas! This was so good. The beer in restaurants in 2021 is often a year old keg that is stale. Not here, fresh IPA on tap. So good!
