Scales Cafe & Deli

This is a great place to visit to get food to go to enjoy an ocean picnic. We ordered Fish and Chips, a Sourdough Clam Chowder Bowl, and fried Artichoke Hearts. The chowder is the Old Grotto recipe, which is the best chowder on the wharf. It is smooth and flavorful with chunks of clam and potatoes. The employees are very pleasant and helpful. They made sure we had plenty of condiments for everything we ordered.

For the location, the food was reasonably priced, we got our food fast, and the workers were very kind. The food itself was great, the bread was soft and the Mac n cheese was very tasty. Their menu has a variety of options and there is a good amount of seating.

Small menu but delicious and quiet when we went, all fried foods are cooked to order so a small wait but worth it. Sister company to old fisherman's grotto so the clam chowder taste kinda the same but slightly different.. delicious 😍.. I think it has a little less potatoes but very very good. Food is well worth the price.

The clam chowder bowl was great. Ten bucks, next door at the Scales restaurant, it is $18. The fish and chips was great too. Go here, and skip the restaurant.

Burgers, fish, and fries are really good and well priced but you need to pay attention to your buzzer or you could get it cold.

Great atmosphere good food

Delicious chowder bowl!! One of the best I’ve ever had! The fish and chips were good too. You could tell the fish was fresh and had a yummy crispy beer batter. I just with their fries were more unique, like had a special seasoning.

The pier was pretty crowded for covid times. The restaurants had plexiglas separating each table. However we weren’t comfortable with the amount of people there so we took our food to-go and ate it by the water.

Fish tacos were very good. Was served with lemon wedges, which was better than with lime. My boyfriend got the clam chowder in a bread bowl. That was tasty and chunky, perfect. Reasonably priced.

We all ate the clam chowder in the garlic bread bowl and all I can say is wow !

Great clam chowder in a sour dough bowl. Bread was super soft and fresh. Chowder was super tasty.
