We had a great birthday celebration here for one of our friends. It's becoming a tradition since it's the 3rd time we've celebrated his birthday here. Food is always on point! If you want traditional German food, this is THE place to go. Goulash, cream of broccoli soup, and a pea/potato/sausage soup was all enjoyed by our group. Our group ordered the following: Hausplatte, Claudia‘s Hausschnitzel, Zigeunerschnitzel (pictured), Jaegerschnitzel, Stammtischschnitzel, and their vegetarian plate. And copious amounts of German beer!

They are a family run business and they just celebrated 32 years! Reservations only.

Loved this neat little place. I wanted to experience real German food and I believe I got it here.
The Jagerschnitzel was fantastic. So good.
They also had a combo plate that comes with everything, although I shouldve ordered a different type of schnitzel as well. Was good tho.
Owners are personable and nice. Had a pleasant experience.

What a treasure! The food is delicious and has all the German classics you could want. There's also fun decor, friendly staff, and the chef came out to say hi.

If you're new, the house plate has a variety of small items to try: schnitzel, sausage, pork roast with gravy, and two types of sauerkraut. It's heavy, so you might not want to finish it all if you want dessert.

As for desserts, they have a variety, and I enjoyed the black forest cake, which is a lighter chocolate cake with cherries.

If you're traveling with toddlers, I recommend a side order of spatzle without gravy.

This continues to be our favorite restaurant in the area. It’s a small, family run restaurant and Claudia and Irvin put so much love into every detail. The food is always amazing, and even during COVID times, they give you an authentic German atmosphere, from the music, to the Bavarian decor, to serving your drinks in the perfect glass to match your beverage. They import a lot of their products directly from Germany (beer, cheese, etc), so don’t expect cheap prices, but the quality and quantity of food you get is just outstanding. I miss the inside atmosphere, but they are being very safety and health conscience during these trying times, and accommodate their customers with outdoor tents, spaced out tables, and space heaters. This is the ONLY restaurant we continue to eat out at because we trust the staff and they always make us feel like family. The Rindsroulade is my favorite, but I always ask for sauerkraut and their home style potatoes as my sides. Go eat here, but make a reservation! You won’t be disappointed.

Made dinner reservations for a birthday on a Friday night. Our first visit to this establishment. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated at our table. The decor was a pleasant German theme, with flowers, pictures with about eight tables. The owner welcomed us and proceeded to give us the menu and informed us of the dinner specials. I oreded my favorite, Jaeger Schnitzel with a hofbrau beer. My meal was served in about ten minutes. I found the plate presentation colorful with the add multi colored "salad " that was red and white cabbage and shredded carrots. The Jaeger Schnitzel was cooked just right covered in a mushroom grave. The home fried potatoes were crisp just the way I like them. I order the black forest cake for dessert. The cake had cherries in it over a dark chocolate base layer. The frosting was like a lite wiped cream that wasn't overly sweet. As a birthday bonus, I was given an apple schnapps in a tall stem shot glass. The schnapps was very fruity and sweet. Overall I would rate the German restaurant highly based on food quality, presentation, atmosphere and very pleasant staff. I will be back to try the rouladen.

I am so impressed with the owners here. They've intentionally made this place welcoming, intimate, and somehow casual too. Don't let the 'reservation only' policy deter you from enjoying polished and composed dishes, great beer on tap, and the inviting humor you'll experience here. This might not be the place for vegetarians/pescatarians, but take your meat friendly folks asap.

Amazing food in a restaurant that feels like home. Claudia's Hausschnitzel is the absolute best. It's a must for anyone who loves food.

Great Lunch time secret. Just reopened for lunch service so it's currently a quite lunch spot with INCREDIBLE authentic HOUSE MADE German quisine done RIGHT. Don't expect it to stay quite for long. Visit this place with a since of urgency and excitement. They also have a great selection of imported beers!

Amazing German food in Seaside! This place is the real deal. I grew up in Germany and have tried German restaurants across the US. This is the only one that makes me feel nostalgic. It tastes like home.

If you've never been here, try the Hausplatte. It's a little bit of everything and my go to meal. For drinks, the beers are good, but they also make an outstanding Radler, which is a beer / lemonade mix that people drank after volksmarches.

Pretty crazy that this place is tucked away in Seaside, but if you want authentic German cuisine, it's a hiden gem.

The owner and staff were very friendly and provided amazing service. I was so excited to dig in to the schnitzel that I forgot to take a picture of it. It was a huge portion and delicious. The vanilla cream pastry dessert and Gluhwein was also delicious.

Brought my buddy for his birthday here. His first time with German cuisine, had it multiple times personally, love it.

This occasion was special because we came in with no reservation, but a table was available and after the cook and waitress had a small conversation, they sat us down.

The special of the day was the homemade meatloaf. There were only two plates left, my friend and I took them. It was incredible. Only had meatloaf once or twice in my life and the one I had that night was something special, so to the owner and lovely waitress, thank you very much for making our evening and his birthday celebration a memorable one. Thank you.

Can't wait to come back again.

Always a pleasure. 20 years later and the food is even better. Always worth the visit. The cook is a sweetheart who serves your meal to you and her husband is the absolute best sarcastic host amd server in town :) There isn't anything on this menu i wouldnt recommend. Claudias special plate is a must! And the ghoulash soup is literally to die for. It doesnt get much better than the stammtisch. Oh yeah, and have a beer! Preferably one on tap! The darker the better!

We enjoy coming every year for our anniversary! We are always greeted by the owner l, who will treat you like family. The food is always amazing and made fresh. The beer is my hubby's favorite and comes in very generous portions, even Das Boot! His favorite plate is the Sausage plate and mine is the Hausplatte which is a little bit of everything (shown in the picture). I also love their chicken plate. Squeeze lemon all over it, it's amazing! Their desserts and soups change every time and are always very delicious. Every time we come, we know we will have a wonderful experience. We will always come back!

Great food... FYI Make a reservation to guaranty a table. Wife and I live over 2hrs away and always eat here. Owner seems crusty and rude but he really isnt, he's GERMAN and its his feeble attempt at humor.

Also posted on Yelp:
Authentic German food owned by an Austrian family.

Food was delicious, portions are large. The menu items are in German with a little English description.

We got:

Gulaschsuppe (goulash) - hearty soup, chunks of meat and veggies.

Stammtischschnitzel - breaded and fried pork chop with mushroom topping. I think this could have benefitted from a sauce but maybe that's not authentic.

Schweinebraten - very tender pork chop with a bread dumpling (remember when you used to mash white bread into a ball before eating? This is a large delicious version) and cooked kraut.

Malzbier - malt beer, non-alcoholic. Tasted like liquid raisins to me but my date didn't think so. It was good.
