The staff is friendly, they communicate well, prices are some of the best. They are very timely, and I trust them enough to recommend them to more than a couple friends and family members. Thank you Ray’s auto!!

I am here to 100% recommend Ray’s for servicing your car. We had been using them for years while we lived in Lakewood until we moved overseas for a span of 6 years. They had always been friendly, honest, fair and thorough.

We don’t live in Lakewood anymore, so we ended up taking our car to the dealer for an oil change. After the dealer tried to tell us we needed over $3k in servicing plus possible repairs, we decided we needed to go back to Ray’s, even though we are no longer close by.

Just like before, we experienced the same professionalism and honesty as we had prior to moving over seas. They checked out the car thoroughly and gave us recommendations for mileage intervals. They found everything to be in great shape and no servicing necessary. Needless to say, Ray’s will continue to have ALL of our business from now on. Thank you soooo much!

Steve is Ray's son and the current owner of this family business. He's worked on three of our cars now. I am always pleased and thankful for his work. Most recently, we had our vehicles in for air conditioning work, and the cars can almost get too cold if that's possible. Great staff, an honest job, and decent prices.

They do great work and are very friendly. Their pricing is reasonable, and sometimes work payments.

They make you feel comfortable as soon as you come in the door. They have great knowledge and excellent mechanics. This shop is very reliable and VERY honest. I've had them work on my vehicle 3 times and never had any issues with their excellent service. I would highly recommend them.

Gabe and the rest of the staff are reliable, friendly and honest! Had a an issue with the thermostat that was replaced and they took care of it again to make sure it was the right one with no issues- Used them for a steering column replacement on the same
Vehicle. I trust their knowledge and quality of work that can be hard to find sometimes these days. They are priced fairly with no price gouging! I recommend them and will not take my vehicles anywhere else now.

I had such a good experience with Ray's Auto that I felt compelled to give them a five-star review. From the get-go, service was fast, friendly, and professional- where I waited on hold for other auto shops, Ray's Auto Center got back to me with a (excellently priced) quote almost instantaneously. The repairs were fast and took under a day, and they were able to repair the vehicle for under what the quote was originally thought to be; I appreciated this gesture of honesty and was able to save much more money and restore my car faster than any other place I talked to. Ray's professional, fast, and knowledgeable service impressed me and I give them my strongest recommendation.

Ray’s is wonderful. You won’t find a auto repair shop with their level of honesty, expertise, and personality at such a competitive price point in the greater Tacoma area.

I’ve been coming to Ray’s for nearly 3 years and every experience has been flawless. I have an ‘09 Toyota Tacoma with 250,000+ miles on it named Lucy, and she runs like a charm thanks to the folks at Ray’s. I’m pathological about getting a good deal, and therefore I typically go to at least 3 x places minimum to get assessments before committing money to a service job. Ray’s has saved me in excess of several thousand dollars on needless repairs recommended by the Toyota dealership and other auto repair shops that simply want to charge for unnecessary or frivolous work.

Do yourself a favor: stop scrolling through google or yelp or whatever brought you to this review, grab your keys, grab a cup of coffee, grab a positive attitude, and head down to Ray’s to fix whatever problem you have. You won’t regret it.

If you want it fixed right the first time. Go here. I have taken my truck and my wifes car many times for various jobs. All work was done quickly and right 👍. What really sets Ray apart from other shops... THEY ARE HONEST. THEY ONLY FIX WHAT IS BROKEN. NO KIDDING. 5 🌟

I've been a customer at Rays for 20 years. I have found them to be honest, fairly priced, and they do quality work. Out of maybe 60 or more services in that time, I have only been dissatisfied once. On that particular occasion I found a bit of grease on the dashboard. I can live with those percentages.

I've been going here for over 20 years. They are not the fastest shop nor the cheapest, but they are honest. I've learned to trust these guys.

I have taken my vehicle to Ray's Auto twice (for different issues) and could not be happier with the service. I had taken my car to the dealer where I bought my car to diagnose a problem with my heater/air conditioner. They told me what the problem was and gave me a quote of $3500. I took it to Ray's (I think his name was Steve) and asked him to do a diagnostic on it, and he came up with the same diagnosis. Before diving into the project, he did some research to see if there was a less invasive way to fix it and save me some money. He found a better way to fix it which saved me $3000! Everyone knows that during these difficult times - this is HUGE. I cannot say enough great things about them and their team. You have a customer for life - thank you!!!!

Did a wonderful job of changing my oil. Also checked alot of other things on my car just to make sure they were in good shape. Friendly staff.

Ray's auto has always delivered superior service compared to everywhere else I've taken my cars. I'll never go anywhere else! Their advice is honest and pricing is fair, they have never recommended service that was not needed.

My son inherited a 84 Buick Riveria which sat in Grandma's garage for years without use. As I needed to get the car on the road to Oregon within 48 hours, I called Ray's for a vehicle evaluation, tune up, etc.

Rachel was a pleasure to work with and was able top move me into their schedule to complete the work even hours than expected.
I made it back to Oregon without issue and now can hand the key to my teenage sons without worry.

No better place to take care of your car in south sound!

I've had a car in here a few times now and have nothing buy praise for Rays Auto. One of the check marks in most people's lives is to find good, honest mechanic. I feel I have that check mark completed.

There many be cheaper places, though I doubt there would be many. In my experience I've never had to return my car to have anything re-fixed, the price was affordable and everything was clearly spelled out before work was started.

A few times I've waited for work done people have regularly walked in and talked to staff by first name and have obviously been return customers. A good sign. I've recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Rays Auto Center is a great place to take your cars. My wife and I have used them several times over the last few years. They have gained our trust and business.

Brought my VW in saying I thought the problem was an expensive fix. They told me it was much simpler and cheaper than I thought. They had an easy way to overcharge me and didn't. Very honest and fairly priced work. When a more serious issue came up, they fixed it quickly and, again, cheaper than I was expecting.

After having my car with another Lakewood mechanic for a week, spent $650 and bringing it home twice to only have the same problem...Ray's Auto Center saved the day. Within a few hours of dropping it off, I had a diagnosis and reasonable estimate for the repairs. They were done within a few hours. I can finally drive my car without saying a prayer before starting it. Thanks' guys. You have a new customer for sure. I should have come here first and saved myself a lot of headache!!
