Bob's BBQ Pit

So glad I stopped in. The realest BBQ around. Got a medium sauce pulled pork sandwich and two cornbread muffins for a fast supper that was on point and didn't take much time at all. The place is cozy and I'd never been there before and felt like I ate there for ages. Their homemade blueberry lemonade is fantastic. I recommend this place to anyone hungry in Tacoma 🤠👌🏻

I gave this place 5 stars because the food was delicious. Ribs, greens and potato salad were perfectly cooked and tasted like my parents cooking. I got the bbq sauce on the side, which I always do if I can. The flavor of the meat was perfect. If I can give two critiques, one would be the sauce kinda tasted more like ketchup and the ambiance is a little lackluster. I do respect the fact that they have been there for years and there are memories on those walls but it could be spruced up a bit. Other than that, I will return and the service was warm and welcoming.

This place is amazing! Friendly staff! Great portion of food. The meat just falls right off the bone super juicy. Baked beaks hit so right! Mac n cheese is creamy and very well seasoned! I will most definitely be returning here!

Ordered two dinners, ribs and chicken, through Door dash for pickup. Both came with two sides each and a nicely wrapped bread packet containing cornbread and a slice of white bread. Each meat has its own unique sauce. It was easily enough food for two adults to share with a little left over.

I’m from Texas and have not had GOOD bbq since I moved here… until now. The gentlemen (and lady) behind the counter were absolute gems, the meat was cooked to perfection, the sides tasted like they came down from the heavens and do not even get me started on how the sweet tea IS THE BEST SWEET TEA WASHINGTON HAS. PLEASE JUST GO SPEND ALL OF YOUR MONEY HERE IMMEDIATELY

Amazing food! I moved here from houston and I've been having a hankering for BBQ. I got the beef dinner with collards an potato salad. I also got peach cobbler all were so good. The icing on the cake was meeting and visiting with Miss Kay Little what a treat. I'll definitely go back again.

Excellent Food ,this has been a community restaurant in Tacoma for 30 years . I’ll always support local black owned businesses it’s part of Hilltop’s history &Customer service is great

Delicious ribs - meat came cleanly off the bone! Best Mac n Cheese we've had in Washington. Prices very reasonable for the amount of food you get and also incredibly sweet staff.
Definitely will visit again whenever in the area.

Dude..... the only word you need to know is "...dude!" It's amazing. The people running the place at super cool and the food is AMAZING! Go there. I HIGHLY recommend this place. It smells so good. I live a block away so I smell their smoker all the time 😂 they're like "SUP DUDE?" hahahaha

I loved the sonic samich. Packed with seasoning and sauce. The macaroni and cheese here was the greatest we've had in the Pacific Northwest. The grass was excellent, too. The chairs are soft and inviting. The proprietor was really friendly and filled us in on local history. 10/10

The sonic samich was so good. Full of sauce and flavor! The Mac n cheese was the best seasoned we've had in the PNW. The greens were also superb. The seating is homey and comfortable. The staff are so nice and the owner was telling us stories of the neighborhood. 10/10

You might have to wait a bit for your food but it's worth it. Brisket was nice and tender, barbecue sauce had a good kick to it, sides were decent. The smell of the BBQ out front will get your appetite going. BBQ is hard to find in Tacoma. Don't let place like this die.

We just had dinner here and the service was phenomenal and we were entertained throughout dinner. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back. I can't wait to come back and try the desserts too!!

Honestly the best I have had in YEARS!! We got the meat sampler platter, Mac and cheese and the burnt ends. Delicious!!! The customer service-outstanding! Can’t wait to go back!!

I came to this place just looking for some good authentic BBQ. I remember as I walked out, after picking up my "to go order" the man behind the counter saying,"This will be some of the best brisket you've ever had! Trust me!" and good lord this man was not lying. The sauce is unlike anything I've ever had. The potato salad and baked beans were incredible too! One of the few times I've ate EVERY bit of food I ordered! This place is amazing! I'll be back soon!

This place is perfect. Delicious food, family owned & operated. Delightful, careful service. Interesting conversation. We had pulled pork, beef brisket, collard greens, coleslaw, cornbread, & sweet potato pie. Bob, the current owner's grandfather landed in Tacoma after WWII & wisely decided not to return to Texas. Go. You won't be disappointed. Meet the family, then take home a meal for your family! Or two!

I just ordered one of the lunch specials to go - very reasonably priced for the amount of food I got, plus it tasted great. Probably the best bbq I've had in Washington state. I would recommend getting take out because the seating is pretty limited inside.
