A complete gem! North County is an outstanding source for all things wine, but even better is their boutique wine bar to have a glass with friends or the owner. Like a small Napa winery without the vineyard. Jim is beyond friendly, knows everything there is to know about wine without being snooty. The perfect fit for the neighborhood and for San Diego. Best alternative to the big box wine store. I love the little outdoor patio, and especially like sitting up at the quaint bar with my girlfriend. She likes the huge selection of wines. A must during Christmas and the holidays, but even better throughout the year because you can pop in for a minute or just relax for hours.

Jim, the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations after our flight this evening. 3 half pours for $15.

If you are looking for “your spot” this is it.

At least it is for me. Every time I’m here it’s as if I’ve been welcomed home to that house that is at the heart of every good neighborhood. (The one with the wine and the goss)

The environment is peaceful and fun. With seating inside and outside, they host over 11 wines on tap for you to choose from.

It’s a hub for fun and kind locals who are not only friendly but are connoisseurs who are happy to share their intimate knowledge of wine and the neighborhood to boot.

Their selection of wines is just 😘👌.

There is a fridge with a fun cheese selection that you can pair with the wines that the owner and his staff recommend from that very selection.

Look. I don’t gate keep. But this place and everyone here make me want to.

It’s not a winery so don’t assume you have all this open space you can hog at the counter.

Don’t be a butt.

Be polite.

I typed this after only One flight of three Italian wines, where I am actively avoiding rush hour.

A hidden gem in San Marcos that has become my friend’s favorite place to get together, especially on week nights. The Thursday half price wine is unbeatable and the little patio oasis in the back with the heaters and fire table is so perfect. Wine selection is broad and staff is knowledgeable. You can also buy bottles here if their bar options aren’t suiting you and then open it and enjoy right there!

I asked for a wine that pairs well with chocolate for valentines. I was ready to shell out $40+ dollars because these kind of wine stores usually have specialized expensive wines. Was pleasantly surprised when all the recommendations the store clerk gave me were reasonably priced. I went with the sparkling red wine that was under $20 and it was a hit. Would go there again.

Quaint location with an excellent selection of wine. Small bar and patio area making a pleasurable experience to spend some time. Friendly staff with a nice selection of wines to taste. Wonderful place.

Great selection of attractively priced wines. Come here if you are in the market for great Spanish, Portuguese, German or local San Diego brands. The owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Forget bevmo, buy local!!!

This has become one of my go-to spots. Jim, the owner, is fantastic. Really enjoy the selection that is available at the wine bar and always do some shopping in the store to take bottles home. Always fairly priced and a great selection!

This is a great place to get your wine. The selection is the best I've seen in North county SD and they have decent deals pretty consistently. I like to go there for a glass every now and again as well. The outdoor seating are is my favorite part!

The Tobin brothers run just the best wine shop and bar in the region. Not only are they always friendly and personable, they're also fantastic guides through the world of wine.

The other thing I love about this place is that, by and large, the wine selection is always a great value. No supermarket mark ups, good value wines across the board, and the best selection of French wines around.

Seriously if you aren't spending at least one night a week here you're missing out!

I have driven by this place for probably 10 years, I finally got a chance to stop in and I was pleasantly surprised that they had my favorite bottle of fallbrook vineyards winery dbx at a very reasonable price. Hope my next visit won't be 10 years.

Awesome North County asset for a wine snob or the novice. The Tobin brothers have a wine for every palate and pocket book. They are knowledgeable of everything on their shelves. They offer tastings and wine events with established wineries. This is my go to place for a special gift or an everyday wine.

We absolutely love this cute little place. The wine selection is amazing and their Thursday happy hour is unbeatable. The owner and his daughter(?) are really nice and helpful. We will be coming again and again.

Excellent wine selection! Met Jim who took the time to explain the layout of the store and was more than happy to give recommendations. Personalized attention and prices are the same or better than the grocery store: will definitely be back!

One of the best wine shops and tasting rooms in the area.

What a fantastic hidden gem, especially for Australians. After many years of breaking Jim and Bill in they finally understand our humor, slang and colloquialusms.
Jim is a trained sommelier and great at helping you explore your palate by the glass or the bottle as well as helping with food pairings.
Bill has had many years in the beverage industry and will be more than happy helping you pick what I consider rather DRY reds (he says I like fruit forward) but he also really knows his wine.
I cannot express enough how fun, friendly and inviting this place is. Be sure to ask about "Mick's Bell End" when buying Australian wine or anything for that matter, it's sure to put a smile on your face.

Best wine selection and value in the area. Dollar tastings on weekends. Relaxed bar and relaxing (and private) patio. A nice place to spend an hour or two and then go home with some interesting bottles.
