Working with WestPac Wealth Partners has been a great launching point for my career! As part of the marketing team, I have rubbed shoulders with many of WestPac's financial representatives, assistants, and staff. The people here at WestPac are incredibly hardworking and motivated. They also genuinely care about their clients' well-being and keep their best interests at heart.

WestPac has been very supportive as an organization, providing me and everyone who works here with the tools and resources needed to succeed. I have flexibility with my schedule, room to make my own decisions, and the ability to work on projects that will help me gain the skills necessary to succeed in my future career. The team I work with daily is also very supportive and wants to help me succeed. Teamwork is a big part of the WestPac culture, and I have certainly felt that during my time here.

If you're looking to join a fast-paced, collaborative, hardworking company culture, look no further than WestPac!

WestPac Wealth Partners is an extremely comprehensive financial planning firm. As a client for the past eight years, they have handled all aspects of my business and family finances –including tax planning, risk management, investments and insurance. As a firm, West Pac Wealth Partners is cutting edge. They take a holistic approach and are very ethical and transparent in their disclosures and explanations. They act as my de facto Chief Financial Officer and work on my behalf with CPAs, lawyers and other advisors and have provided innovative ways to protect and grow my assets. We meet several times a year to review my personal and business finances and I can count on them to take actions consistent with our strategy. I strongly recommend WestPac Wealth Partners to any business owner.

Update!! These guys are making their employees write positive reviews to falsely elevate their very poor ratings due to their bait and switch tactics and just straight dishonest practices about what they actually do!!! Don’t be scammed by them or their false positive reviews that they made their employees right! How desperate do you have to be to boost your ratings!!

To say I was disgusted with this company would be an understatement. First off, I was completely misled and lied to. This “financial advisor” is simply an insurance agent who is trying to talk you into policies you don’t need to make a commission. I was given ZERO financial advise and wasted hours of my time. I thought I was attending a “meeting” where I would learn about the financial advice they offered and instead I was asked all about my financial information and asked for all of my account information. Then I was told, in the NEXT meeting, we would discuss financials. This next meeting was simply a SALES pitch for insurance. Alec tried to convince us that our 3 million of life insurance wasn’t enough and with another policy that I’m sure included a really nice commission for him, our lives would be really “secured”. Cue sleazy used car salesman vibes here. I lost several hours of my extremely busy life to take a life insurance sales pitch (which I DIDNT NEED!!) Be honest about what you do. Nobody wants to hire someone who is dishonest from the front.

I received a call from a marketing intern at WestPac Wealth Partners asking me to remove my Google review so I'm providing an update. I see he was successful in finding people to write some positive reviews which leads me to question their authenticity. If they are legit I hope their experience was better than mine! My experience with West Pac Wealth Partners, specifically Jonathan Barrera and Rachel Novak left me feeling as though this firm was highly unethical. Their objective was to oversell me life insurance. This provides them a method to scam people and stay protected by their life insurance policies. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. As a Trusted Financial Advisor, I expected Jonathan would thoroughly review and analyze my business and personal finances. Instead, he narrowly focused on a one time cash event and set out to exploit it. From this limited financial information, Jonathan advised my spouse and I to purchase two whole life insurance policies and one term life insurance policy (its important to note we already had one whole life and a term life insurance policy in place and disclosed this). He also advised us to create an employer sponsored pension plan which would add on-going annual administrative fees of roughly $10k. This was money that could otherwise be invested elsewhere. Jonathan boasted about how he sold this “package” to many wealthy physicians and heavily stressed the tax advantages of his plan. It may be a good plan for some but it became apparent his plan design was way too robust for our situation. It was not verbally disclosed but in reading the agreements (for which Jonathan said there was no need to consult an attorney) it was discovered he would receive roughly 50% of the first year’s life insurance premiums in commissions. According to their website, Guardian Life Insurance (products being sold to us) states a good rule of thumb for the percent of income you should spend on life insurance is 6% of your gross income plus 1% for each dependent. Jonathan recommended life insurance with annual premiums that would cost us over 100% of my personal annual gross income for which he would receive roughly $75k in commissions for the first year alone. The plan design was presented in a way that was way more confusing than it needed to be and lacked transparency and full disclosure. Jonathan represented himself as a trusted financial fiduciary but clearly this plan was not in our best interest and the only fiduciary interest he was fulfilling was his own. This amount of life insurance was excessive and if the premiums could not be sustained after the first year we would stand to loose the money we invested in life insurance but he would keep his 75k in first-year commission. This experience leads me to question if overselling life insurance is a primary objective of this firm. Once they laid out their plan it became a high pressure sales experience and was definitely not advisory in nature. Tax savings was heavily touted as a reason to buy life insurance but in our case in the long run we would be better off paying taxes than buying life insurance we couldn’t afford to maintain. You would be best served by hiring a financial fiduciary that lives up to the standards of their legal fiduciary obligations and is not motivated by and paid a commission for the life insurance policies and other financial products they sell you. They are nice to your face and you receive a slick, overwhelming sales presentation that leaves you feeling as though their plan is in your best interest. Don't be fooled they are disingenuous predators acting as advisors. In order to protect others from serious financial harm I discourage anyone from using them.
