That Pizza Place - Carlsbad

The new owners are doing a phenomenal job and I’m ecstatic to see this local gem staying open. Still the same amazing pizza and welcoming atmosphere with a slightly more modern interior. They kept some key touches, which really warmed my heart. I love that my family and friends can keep making the same fond memories here that I did 30+ years ago. Try the new loaded fries, they’re delish!

We recently rediscovered that pizza place and have now been back twice in the same week! The pizza is very good! I love the upper pepperoni and that the crust is cooked perfectly. The pizza we have a Vista has been so tasteless. This was definitely worth the drive.

I ordered the lunch special for$12.50 . They have it from 11-3. It's a 6-inch pizza , side salad, and a drink. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. Highly recommend.

I think I liked the regular crust a little better than the deep dish, but it’s still really good. The sausage is legit! I’ve only been for lunch - I hope this place is poppin’ for dinner/sports!

Perfect end to a long day on vacation! The service was fantastic: very friendly and prompt. The food was top notch: gooey, cheesy pizza that hit the spot. I wish this place were in our hometown, we’d be bringing our kids here every Friday night!

Grew up visiting That Pizza Place as a child and I'm so happy that I can continue the tradition with my own family. Love the updated location with the same amazing pizza, if not better!

Wonderfully dedicated staff, delicious food, and just an all around fun atmosphere. For those who are gluten free, they offer a fantastic gluten free crust in both small and large sizes.

I’m not a big pizza person but my boyfriend loves pizza and was a local. We live in Las Vegas but had to eat here while we are out here. The pizza was actually really good, but personally I loved the wings! They were perfectly flavored and super juicy. The atmosphere was great too. The owners were out and about chatting it up with everyone. Made us feel like we’ve all known each other for forever. I would for sure recommend!

The food here is phenomenal. It comes out fast and hot. Everyone in the place is extremely friendly and the vibes are awesome. I was in SoCal for less than a week and came back here for a second time just to try other food from the menu (The deep dish pizza is the BEST I've ever had). If you're ever anywhere near Carlsbad, go here!

Fantastic reboot of a fantastic pizza place. Wonderful staff and beer offering. Great wings and cheesy garlic bread. If you come in the evening, the owners make a habit of stopping by each table to ask if everyone is good. The pizookie was amazing.

I had the pleasure of dining at this well-established That Pizza Place restaurant, and I must say, it's a hidden gem! With its long history in the area, it's clear they know their pizza, and it shows. The pizza I had was outstanding - the crust was perfectly crisp, the sauce was flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and abundant.

But it's not just the food that sets this place apart. The service was exceptional; the staff were attentive and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What impressed me even more was the restaurant's dedication to sports enthusiasts of all ages. They have numerous screens, ensuring you won't miss any game, and the ambiance is electric during major sporting events. One of our favorite pizza places. Tried it for first time a month ago and have been back twice more. The pizza is outstanding, crust, toppings, sauce all top notch and it was cooked perfect (we asked for “crispy”). The wings are crazy delicious. Looking forward to trying the Italian sub, I have heard it is amazing! Going back again tonight, we love it!

Not only is the food exceptional, but the service here is outstanding. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great dining experience. They're not only attentive but also incredibly friendly. We feel like welcomed guests every time we visit.

The place is clean and well-maintained, and they've done an incredible job of preserving the history of the location while updating it to have a modern and welcoming atmosphere. We love the indoor outdoor feel it has.

Wow that pizza place has been here for years . Under new management and owners, what a great spot for family and friends. Both the staff and manager care about what they are doing. Come check them out if you haven't been in a while well worth the visit.

Possibly the best pizza I have had in recent years. I don't live in the area unfortunately, so I'm not sure I'll ever get to come back. But the food really is that good.

Best pizza in town... there's "Best Pizza" which is actually just-ok-pizza and then there is That Pizza Place which is actually, literally, the best pizza. Prices are a little high but hey, you get what you pay for. Not to mention the classic Elm Ave. sign, that's how you know they're OG.

10/10 pizza and service. Highly recommend. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon 10/28 around 3 pm for lunch and Eddie was great, service was amazing, Eddie was very attentive checking on us regularly and the gentlemen at the bar was also very helpful. We will definitely be coming back!
