This has been our favorite sushi place since forever. We tried other places but we always come back here!
The fish is fresh and delicious. The place always feels cozy and the staff is very nice.

Don't miss the appetizers that are great, the Japanese fried chicken is amazing!

After that you have a lot of choices, sashimi, rools, special mention to the eels one, my favorite.

Dinning in or taking out- don't hesitate you won't regret it.

We loved it!!

I was craving sushi and this place was super close to home. We went just after 5p on a Thursday and were lucky to get seats at the bar. So hot tip…call ahead for a reservation!

My wife and I shared 4 rolls. Our favorite was the Red Tide. We also liked the Rainbow and Shrimp Tempura rolls. The only roll we won’t get again was the Veggie Roll…which I’m ok with.

I can’t wait to go back!!

This is a high-quality restaurant - great service experience. You can tell the staff cares about their customers and they provide a great restaurant experience. Fish is quality! Happy I stopped by ... I am thankful that they also held my credit card when I accidentally left it at the restaurant.. very easy to communicate with.

My new favorite sushi place in North County. A must visit. We called ahead in the morning and left a voice mail for reservations. Received a call back by a very friendly person and they had room for us at the sushi bar. If you go here sit at the sushi bar and make sure you call ahead they were busy. We absolutely loved the environment, staff, service, and of course the fresh sushi. We ordered omakase (sushi chef's choice) and everything, I mean everything was amazing!! Go here you will not be disappointed. Pro tip, they do run out of sushi (goes to show how busy they are) so for the most variety you may want to go earlier rather than later.

The decor is beautiful and intimate. The service was fast and friendly. Now to fhe good stuff - the sushi was very fresh and they had appetizers that I was surprised to see! Many sushi places in San Diego tend to be very Americanized, but they had a more authentic variety. The sashimi was delicious and fairly priced.

I’m not usually one for leaving reviews but this place didn’t disappoint. We had a hankering for sushi in the afternoon, on a Saturday, during labor day weekend. We showed up at 5:15 with no reservations and hope in our hearts for a table, and the restaurant was already pretty much booked out for the night, with a space outside for us. In spite of the heat and humidity, we had an amazing time. The food was fantastic, the quality of the sushi for the price was perfect and the beer was nice and cold. Our waiter was super accommodating to my partner’s allergies, and gave us some phenomenal recommendations. We’ll definitely be back soon for the omakase option! If you’re considering eating here make sure to try and book a table, you won’t be disappointed!

Pretty nice neighborhood sushi restaurant located in Encinitas. The foods here are pretty delicious. My favorite one is their Wahoo fish - nigiri and sashimi, which I don’t see it often in other places. The other items are nice too, sushi roll, beef tongue, tempura, all good. The wine here is so so, it’s pretty cheap too. Hot sake is decent. The only thing is when we got there tonight, they are packed and only have two waiters serving. So it was super slow, we waited 1 hour for appetizers to come. But their food is too good, so I still give a 5 star.

Amazing Sushi, but the staff will make you're dining experience worthwhile. If there's a seat at the bar, then I would highly suggest taking it for the full dining experience. They don't have a cocktail menu, so either you're pairing your meal with sake, beer and or wine. As for the sake we went with the bottle of junmai (cold sake) and chased it with Asahi Black. For the appetizers we went with the chicken (tatsutaage) which was cooked to perfection. Also, the mixed shrimp and vegetable tempura which was also delicious and very generous on the portion size. As for the nigiri, which stole the show for me, I would highly reccommend the ONO (wahoo) which is not found often on many menus, kanpachi (amberjack), unagi (freshwater eel), Hamachi (yellowtail) and Uni (they mainly get from Santa Barbara). I rarely come to north county, but I'll be coming more often now that I've discovered this wonderful establishment.

I always have a wonderful experience here and try to make the trip out as much as I can. I usually get omakase sushi. Kaito takes good care of me and my belly. The fish here is always extremely fresh and delicious. Service is good too. They have a nice selection of sake to go with the sushi. Please enjoy nigiri sushi or sashimi if you want to try this place. Do not waste the resources and talents here on Americanized sushi rolls that you can likely purchase at a supermarket. I’m sure they make bomb California rolls, but why eat that when you can try something much more amazing?

The food was incredible. Like, amazing.
I haven't had sushi often, but this was one of the best things I've ever tasted, especially the eel. One of the memorable restaurants I've visited.

A small but homely sushi bar. My go to if I'm looking for traditional sushi or sashimi.

Highly recommend the sushi bar as the sushi chefs are highly skilled and friendly. They will always have some specials available not seen on the menu. If you're adventurous, ask them for the omokase option and the chefs will pick whatever is fresh for the day.

I wish i can give 6 stars 🤩. One of the best epicurian experiences. Some of very rare fishes prepared by chef Kazu, all at fair price in an modest mall location. Best food find on this trip. Highly recommended!

People give me a strange look when I tell them my favorite sushi place is in a town 30 minutes north of San Diego. But Kazu and Joe really know what they're doing. Sit at the bar and put yourself in their capable hands.

This is my favorite local sushi place. We find the sushi fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is just ok. One thing I didn’t like was how rude the man behind the counter was to the lady servers. They were doing the best they could! Not a good look, sir. 5-stars for the food.

Flying out to San Diego and finding a sushi restaurant of this caliber was absolutely amazing! It is a small restaurant and it fills up fast. We had a six o’clock reservation and only waited a few minutes for our table, but shortly after that there was a waiting line.
Our sushi came out one at a time and two people’s order came on the same plate. No a big deal, especially when the sushi is so fresh and tender.
The rice rolls were the best I’ve ever enjoyed with wonderful flavors and textures. I believe the sushi chef is the owner which explains the delicious food prepared. I will return here again whenever in the area. Thanks for the great food!

Truly authentic experience coming from someone who lived and worked in Japan for many years. Just about the best you can do around here, from the food to the staff. Great fun! Just be sure to sit at the bar, and offer your master a drink. ;)

Fresh fish served in an authentic feeling Japanese restaurant. Very friendly chefs; suit at the sushi bar if possible.
