Really cool area with pretty neat history. Off the freeway, you take a left... the individual sites are to the right. You have to reserve and pay for the group campground, so if you go wandering up there, don't be surprised if you're asked to leave. Every time we go, it seems like there's someone who gets curious and pops in. Just a heads up is all. The host is really really nice but they were sure to let us know when we weren't abiding by the rules. Which is good. So no shenanigans!Such a beautiful place though!

Oh yeah, watch out for the poison oak! Also, if you're on the West side of the site you can hear the freeway traffic on I-84 pretty good.

Amazing spot. If highway/train noises bother you, do not stay here as it is audible from everywhere on the site. The renovated bathrooms were wonderful. It was great having flush toilets and sinks with running water. Fire ban was still in effect but there were lots of fire rings for whenever it is lifted. There were a few hikers who ended up strolling through the site on accident, it’s great that there’s a gate to keep unwanted vehicles out. Receptacles for trash and returnable cans and bottles (cleaned) were available to use. There’s potable water as well. We had a fantastic time and are excited to go back next year.

A great group campsite in the Columbia River Gorge. It’s perfect for multiple families and in close proximity to many outdoor adventures. You can hike the Eagle Creek Trail or take a 3 mile bike ride into nearby Cascade Locks on the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. Views of the Columbia River are seen all across the campsite. Plus there are flush toilets and a nice fully enclosed shelter house, just for use by the group campsite. The only drawback is the interstate and rail noise that’s on the other side of the bluff that the campground sits on.

Good place for bigger functions or get-togethers wish wasn't so close to freeway is all. Bathrooms and garbage kept up with a nice lodge that has power to it!

Eagle Creek is epically beautiful and amazingly fun. It’s one of the premier waterfall runs for Kayakers, cannoneers. Also enjoyed by hikers, cliff jumpers, swimmers, photographers, etc…Sad they mismanaged the gorge and let the 2-3rd generation, unnatural forest burn back in 2018 😢. Forest mismanagement is a horrible thing.

This spot is absolutely fantastic. Lots of places to explore, some great trails to explore and loads of nice places to throw up a tent. The view of the river and mountains is amazing. The lodge is super neat too (again the view... Stellar). Fire pits/places all over which i thought was really neat. And the overlooks super cool. Great place to explore and escape the city. Be glad to claim the spot again.

We've been going to this site since before 2008 and it has been pleasant though not being able to have a camp fire this recent visit and now host's onsite which means you now have a stranger and unknown vehicles coming into the site not knowing if they are for the host or its because the host likes to not lock the gate when they use it, is the only negative. The site itself is awesome and would recommend anyone to make a reservation and stay the weekend!

Wow what a wonderful camp ground, epic view, epic location, epic adventure! Plenty of room to explore for the kids but not so much you had to worry. The camp is gated so it's just you and no one else. The camp host were absolutely spectacular, came by enough to check on things and take care of trashes and porta-potties but no too much to feel like they were overbearing. Both the husband and wife were super nice and willing to go above and beyond. I can easily say 5 stars without hesitation, and if you look I don't handout 5 star ratings.

Such an amazing experience. The camp host/hostess went above and beyond. We came looking for just a site to stay at as our other plans fell through and they were all booked up. Talked to the host and there was a cancellation up at the lodge. They made us a great deal. Everything happens for a reason. My group and all our kids had an amazing time. The grounds were beautiful, there were plenty of porta-pottys and they were clean.
We are thinking of renting this area yearly now. I definitely recommend!

Amazing private campground! We got lucky and were able to get the private camp and will definitely come back. The staff is awesome and helpful. My group and kids had a blast and didn't want to leave! Oh, and the views, just awesome! Highly recommend this campground!!

Kat is an excellent host. Thank you for the hospitality, the hiking recommendations, and for helping to make our experience a memorable one.

Great views of the Colombia Gorge, Eagle Creek, waterfalls, fish hatchery, and all the comforts of town within a short drive or walking distance.

Very nice campground with cozy tent sites. This is one of the smaller sites. Some are large enough for 2 to 4 tents. A relatively small campground that fills up quickly, on popular weekends. Absolutely beautiful surroundings... tall trees, generally a light breeze most of the time. Trains traveling through the Columbia Gorge are likely to wake you at night, but that is a small price to pay for such a wonderful experience. Site fee $15 per day.

Up high above the highway. The river nearby is fun to swim in. There was some great logs to sit on at the campsites. The history of this campground is interesting. I'd love to camp here again and try more of the hikes and explore the area better.

Hidden jwel. They don't seem to open it very often. Seems to be for groups but you can walk around just leave your car in the lot by the gate. Well worth it. Have been there many times over the years great place to bring some food an spend the day. Plenty of places to get off to yourself. Views everywhere and old craftsmanship all still in great shape. Quite a few BBQ pits around. Also when you go the only exit is coming from Portland. And leaving the only way is towards hood river. So. PLAN ahead.

We book our Family Reunion here every year!! It's beautiful, peaceful with historic buildings. Always many things to do, hiking, fish hatchery tours, swimming, floating or fishing to name just a few. 👍🏼👍🏼

Absolutely love this park. Parking I so abundant, I get to take a nap without having anyone around the area I park... BTW. Get the annual state park pass. Totally totally worth it

This is a awesome camp spot for only $75 and there is room for like 60 campsites within this spot plus a covered cabin like spot with HUGE fireplace and the view is breathtaking. O ly thing is you have to reserve it like a year in advance.

Best hike in the gorge, in my opinion, as long as you don't want to climb elevation much. Way more crowded than it used to be though.

Sweet place to camp or just spend the day! Hopefully they extend the maximum punishment to all those involved in starting the fire that more than likely destroyed this beautiful Campground and Hiking area.
