Holiday Inn & Suites San Mateo-San Francisco SFO, an IHG Hotel

Pleasantly surprised.

Staff was nice & helpful.

The room (double queen) was huge. Microwave, good sized fridge, table & chairs, desk with an office chair. Good for a family, plenty of room to spread out.

I liked that there was a restaurant & bar on the premises. The menu is admittedly basic but after a long day to be able to eat & have a cocktail without leaving the property was for me, huge.

I noticed that they have a hot tub.

With hotels in the area all at $250 plus this property is a good value. I found it to be clean, and with a lot of nice features for the weary traveler.

A delightful and clean hotel. Despite being right next to the freeway, you don't hear anything in you room with the windows closed. The have a nice small workout room and a hot tub. Considering the price of hotels in this area, this was well priced and a great value.

We stayed at the hotel while looking for a home when we moved to the area. Josh helped us with check-in and it was a great experience. Staffs are very friendly and supportive. The hotel location is a bit far from any walking-distance restaurant or grocery, but as long as you drive it is fine. Rooms are clean, I only used the laundry among the amenities and it was neat and fast. Overall the stay was great, thank you!

Love this place!! My husband and I stay here ALL THE TIME! Clean rooms, comfortable beds, safe parking, great location, reasonable pricing (especially if you’re an IHG member earning points!)
And we LOVE the staff!! Ray, Josh, Jazz, Bradley… always make our stay pleasant and are super accommodating.

Easy access right off freeway. I've stayed here a few times now. Everyone working was friendly and helpful.

Rooms were clean and the suites were spacious.

Stored our car over a month without a single issue. Stayed 1 night on our return and everything was great. Even the bar was open late.

I have stayed at this property several times every week from November 2023 to December 2023 and I can’t rave more about the excellent service that the following personnel gave: Josh, AFA, Tey, Daniel, Jazz, and Tiana. Whenever I came back, they always provided me with such a warm, welcoming smile. Shout out to all of them and the many other staff that made sure I had an enjoyable stay.

I have to give a huge shout out to Jazz, Josh, Afa, Tey, and Rey, who have taken care of me my during my most recent visits, for their exceptional service—they consistently go above and beyond to make sure I have everything I need for a comfortable stay. Will def continue to make this our Bay Area hotel of choice. Great location by lots of food options in Burlingame and San Mateo. Plus the rooms are big and clean and affordable. And BATHTUBS! Yay!

The morning staff was awesome however ur evening staff needs work on customer relations. Rooms were clean, comfortable, well stocked, i was amaxed at the shower soap ,shampoo, conditioner. Very nice.

The hotel provided excellent accommodations, exceptional customer service, and delectable cuisine.

Good cozy hotel in a confidently placed location about 30 minutes from the GG Bridge and 30 minutes from San Jose. It was ideal for my vacation, and the staff was super friendly. There is a diner that offers breakfast for dine in, but it isn't free. There is a gym, pool, and plenty of parking.

Clean rooms, all amenities you need and the staff is super helpful. (maria especially)

I've traveled there by accident due to my flight landing almost midnight and 3 nearby Caltrain stations stopped running at that time. So I really needed a place to keep my body warm and charged my phone. Front desk is very nice. After he heard my story, he already knew what I need. Due to I check-in very late, he put me on late check-out (that's really sweet).
Room is nice, clean ,and really big. Also, free wifi and a mini gym, those are really big plus.

Decent and clean room, and is close to the airport. No airport shuttle or continental breakfast. Parking was $17usd. Was a bit of a walk to any restaurants, markets, etc. There seemed to be a large park close by, and the pedestrian bridge to cross the freeway was also close. Overall got the job done

Nice comfortable beds, big soft pillows. Their little cafe is charming and quick service.

All the door trims look fake and cheesy and the elevator is impressively slow. Can't say I care about that stuff though. Nice hotel, little old in some places but who isn't these days. We're all dying here eventually, stay at Holiday Inn.

I was nervous to stay here after I read some of the other reviews, but for us, this place was nothing like the negative reviews said it would be. We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. Our room was a long suite in the first tower. The room was huge and very clean. The bathroom was very big, clean and had Bath & Body soaps. We had been driving for hours so we decided to order dinner to our room. The kitchen and room service staff were helpful, friendly and fast. The food was better than I expected. I ordered a club deli wrap sandwich and salad. The salad was a giant spring mix, very tasty! My husband ordered sliders with chips. The chips were freshly made and still warm. In the morning, I went to the fitness room. It was small but in good working order with a variety of machines, mats, weights and exercise balls. I ran out of time and didn't get to use the hot tub or dry sauna. The hotel was buzzing with friendly house keepers that appeared to be cleaning the entire hotel from top to bottom as I went back to my room to get ready for the breakfast buffet. Happy we stayed here!

Many thanks to front desk clerk Anthony! I have business trip to San Mateo for 3 weeks. The first room I stayed is good but a bird start making noise outside after first week, and Anthony helped me switch to a better room so the rest 2 weeks I was very comfortable! And he also helped me and my colleague on a lot's of things.
I had a very nice trip during this pandemic. Thank you so much Anthony and I hope you can visit Taiwan in future :)

My experience in this hotel has been one of the best in the area. The service and the attitude of every single employee I encountered was Amazing. Everyone had a legit smile and amazing attitude. From the ladies at front to room keeping and the shuttle. And a special thanks to Oscar and everyone else in the restaurant. You guys made our entire group feel welcomed every morning.

Holiday Inns often have excellent beds and this one is no exception! Even though this hotel appears to be currently​ the process of being remodeled​ it was not a disruptive experience to my stay. There is a little road noise from the freeway nearby if you are a light sleeper. The noise from the AC was more than enough to cover it up. The suite I was upgraded to was huge and had all the basic amenities. Unless you are super sensitive to noise or would like a luxurious stay there's a good chance you'll be happy here!
