Great pizza and wonderful staff. Only tough part was no reservations and cash only but was not big enough issue that it deterred us from dinning there. Literally all the pizzas we tried were fantastic

I was impressed being I'm born in Brooklyn and been eating new york pizza all my life. The taste was great I order a half sausage and half meatballs. And one cheese pizza. I have to say it was very flavorful and cheesy. Even the crust was on point it was crispy. So for my first time here I have to give them all stars. The service was good and the environment was great. Will definitely be back to enjoy another sausage pie. Fyi a little pricey but well worth it.

The first American pizza restaurant!
Very typical place in NYC. The staff and the service is very good. Not big place so expect some waiting time. But it worth!
The tomato salad is delicious same as the pasta. You can only pay cash but no problem as that have an ATM in the restaurant.
Do not miss this place. A must in NYC!

Love the history, food, service, and atmosphere of this restaurant. The food was amazing. We had bread sticks, meatballs, and Margarita red pie x2, it all was amazing. We had a 30-minute wait for a table, which was definitely worth the wait. If you are visiting the city, I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a most try.

Wonderful pizza. I mean, near perfection. And they’re very fast! The service was wonderful too. Very helpful and kind staff. They have their own soda’s, which aren’t terrible, but if you’re expecting coke, their cola falls very short.

This is also a cash-only establishment, so, bear that in mind before going. All-in-all I was so pleased with my experience here. Oh, and it may just have the cleanest bathroom in Manhattan!

Love the place. Oldest pizzeria in the US. The staff are very nice and friendly. The pizza are delicious and especially their meatball appetizers. I also like their italian vanilla soda

I rarely want pizza and am not one to eat it regularly. But this pizza, I would eat every day. We had the meatball pizza and the meatballs for an appetizer. Best meatball I ever had, very tender, seasoned perfectly.

Some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. This is CASH only, so be prepared. There is a conveniently located ATM right inside the restaurant which was a big help.

Got an eggplant and ricotta red pie (fried eggplant and ricotta cheese on top) along with pepperoni on the side. Skip the flavored tea- it isn't particularly good. Pizza was amazing. Crust was cooked excellently. Barely any charring on one of the edges. Only one bathroom for guests, so be careful. Cash only, but there is an ATM on site. If you are traveling with luggage, you will have to sit outside with the surrounding air outside.

Always great pizza! IMHO, the best pizza in the world! They have options, including a cauliflower crust pizza and a seafood pizza. You can also sit outdoors if you want to experience a full NY lifestyle. Love, love, love. Highly recommended. Caution: only one restroom, so there can be a wait. Still worth it.

This pizza place is ranked on of the top in NYC and I understand why. Everything felt so simple and casual and yet the food was amazing. We got the wedge salad and it honestly surpassed our expectations. Their dressing really enhanced the salad. We got 2 margarihta pizzas and added on roasted garlic. The sauce was on point – tasted fresh and was also well flavored. The crust was cooked to the right temperature. Cheese wasn’t excessive, just the right amount to compliment the pizza.

Service: People were fast and food came out quickly

Price: Considering how good the food is, the prices are very very reasonable.

Ambiance: A typical casual pizza spot, there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

Note: Like many pizza places – this is cash only.

America's oldest pizzeria!

In the early 1900s, Gennaro Lombardi immigrated to the United States. A baker by trade, he is credited with developing New York Style Neapolitan Pizza. Lombardi's operated as the first full-service, dine-in, pizzeria as the main business in the United States. Many famous pizzamakers learned their trade at Lombardi's, passing their knowledge to new generations of pizzaiolos. For more than 100 years, Lombardi's continues to be true to their founders' ideals of serving the
community with quality and old-world traditions.

Pizzas are cooked in a coal-fired oven, arriving quickly with just the right amount of char. The toppings were delicious and the cheeses melted to perfection. Our favorites were Grandma's Meatballs, the Pancetta, Ricotta, Spinach pizza (a white pie with ricotta, spinach, pancetta), and the Spring Salad (not on the menu, but still available). Service was quick and attentive without being intrusive.

Cash only!

I loved the pizza so much. My daughter always begs to come here all the time! The pizza we always eat is the Double Pepperoni pizza. The dough is crisp and soft at the same time, and overall just gives you a flavourful sensation. I still cant get over the first time I tried this pizza😍

Very good new York style thin crust pizza. Definitely worth a stop... although I'd use public transportation, because parking near by is tough and can get expensive

Food: delicious and reasonably priced

Service: everyone was friendly and attentive

Atmosphere: iconic

After coming to NYC for so many years, finally got the chance to eat here for dinner and it did not disappoint. Ingredients were fresh and food was delicious. We had the meatballs, caesar salad, ricotta and meatball pizza plus the fettuccine alfredo. Pretty cool to say you’ve eaten in Americas first pizzeria!

The only thing I found a little sketchy was it’s a cash only establishment. If you don’t have any, they have an ATM in the middle of the restaurant.

Loved the whole experience here!

Pizza was awesome! We ordered the Buddy (Cake Boss) with arugula and prosciutto; which I'd never had either on a pizza but it worked! Crust was light and crispy.

Cheesecake was rich and flavorful; everything you expect in a NY cheesecake.

Tiny restaurant with big history! We tried the Rustic Double Pepperoni, and it tasted grrreat! The pepperoni they used had a nice kick to it, seemed very fresh. Whatever it was pizza was really good. 👍 👌

The rustic double pepperoni pizza was delicious. I would definitely start off with grandmas meatballs. They also made one of the best Negronis. Cash only but there’s an ATM.

When I think of New York Pizza this is the first place that comes to mind! Hands down this is as New York as New York can get. There are hundreds of pizza places in the area whether you're in Manhattan or Brooklyn this is a place you have to stop by is another very famous hole in the wall and a destination for sure. The people are a little crazy that work here but I feel like that goes with the territory of being a true Italian pizza maker. I love it!!!!

I also think Guy Fieri from Diners Drive-Ins and Dives has been here. Hahaha
