The park offers good trails that have different types of scenery and incline level. It offers views of downtown San Jose, the mountains and private homes in the area

Great park with a great location! Belgatos is a great place for a quick and easy escape into nature! great views, nice playground for the kids, and plenty of trails to check out!
in the days after it rains it can get very very muddy and the combination of mud, leaves, and grass can stick to you shoes very well.
wear shoes you don’t care about after rain (ideally high top / hiking shoes)

A really nice park. There is plenty to do from hiking, picnicking, playground area and a big open grass area to run around. This is a lot of shade and a small creek that probably has water in it during the rainy season. The only thing is there are quite a few yellow jackets around so you need to be careful while eating.

Nice little park with good quality play structures for kids about 10 & under. I really like that they have separate structures for toddlers/babies. Their slides were clean and there was plenty of wood chip on the ground. A small portion was even padded by the small slides. There was also a good about of grass area for picnicking when weather permits (was wet/muddy in Jan). My favorite part was the proximity to a few short hiking trails. Will definitely come back. This park shares space with Heinz open space (once you get on the trail). I came this morning after having no luck at Rancho San Antonio and Sanborn County Park. The parking lot is small but there were not a lot of people here at 7:30/8 am on a Saturday which was just what I was looking for.

The trails are easy to find but they are short. I chose to do the Santa Rosa Trail which is the longest contiguous trail (abt 1.1 miles from the start of the park) There are no maps to take with you but there is a wooden stand with a map of the area that you could take a picture of and refer to. The top of the Santa Rosa Trail connects to Sierra Azul Road and there's some way to go on the roads and do a loop back to Belgatos park but I am not that map savvy and hadn't taken a picture.

The trails are well maintained with nice views of the valley once you get higher up. There are plenty of shade trees, which helps when you're dealing with hills. Come prepared if you have any knee issues ( walking sticks, braces, physical therapy, take breaks) I have patellafemoral syndrome and going DOWN hills can aggravate it. I think because this trail was so short I was able to manage just fine without needing any help.

Restrooms at trail head are flush toilets and well maintained ,however, there are NO changing tables for people with small children in diapers.

Overall just what I needed this morning. Would come here again and figure out how to do a big loop.

The playground is well maintained. The ridge trail is steep but still can be managed by toddlers. Many families bring their small kids walking on the trail. It’s a good park for family activities.

Well maintained green grass, trees, restrooms, kids play area, benches and parking. It's a locals park. You can climb the adjacent hill 250ft straight up to listen to your heart thumping, get views of the valley. Gets hot, choose cooler time of the day

Very nice, small park that backs up into the mountains. My wife and daughter go here quite frequently to walk the trail up the mountain. It's short, which is great for the little one. The park is mainly covered with trees, so on a hot day it's a nice place to be. It can get a little crowded on the weekends, since it's small, but not as crowded as the larger parks in San Jose. The parking lot is very small, however, so you may have to park along the street where the houses are.
I highly recommend this park for a short stroll along the hiking trail, or for little kids that like a small playground.

Large park with a cool playground and trails. From a playground perspective, it's got structures for both young and older children. There is a cool climbing wall structure available for older kids. There are also multiple trails around, not too long. There is a ridge trail that offers fantastic views of the surrounding area.

Its a nice serene spot. I’ll come here times and on a good clear day the view is spectacular. I saw three stellar jays (blue birds) fighting.

Wonderful park with a good mix of shade and sun. Hiking trails to get some nature time before letting the kids loose at the playground. Open grass area. Bathrooms are clean and there's a nice water fountain for filling water bottles. Parking can be full sometimes

Has a small but shaded playground. Has some hiking trails. We did it with a 2 and 5yr olds, it was a bit steep. Went on entire ridge trail and came back. It was great exercise because it's quit uphill for the first part. But one could just do a loop which is quite doable. At the top of the hill are trees with a lot of woodpeckers and are fun to watch. The water fountain at the end of ridge trail is a blessing. It was scorching hot and we underestimated the hike and didn't carry enough water.

I went back to visit this park this autumn's late morning. From the start, it has several interconnected trails that you can take. The short trail on the far left will take you to a beautiful view down to the neighborhoods. Especially, the displaying of autumn foliage. Less than a mile away, there are other trails. Like other reviewers mentioned, full of shades and oaks. Plenty of woodpeckers. The park does have separate and clean restrooms. You also appreciate the drive in during this time, the neighborhood's trees are showing beautiful orange and red foliage now.
