I've had this coverage for several years and managed to obtain a low monthly premium. However, my out-of-pocket expenses are ridiculous. Eventually, I may look elsewhere.

these people are awful. they dont want to talk to you to direct you anywhere else. They just hung up on me when I asked to be directed somewhere. They said, "I am not able to help you. Sorry," and proceeded to hang up without me asking the question.

United Healthcare is cheap, has cheap co-payments, cheap premiums, promptly responds to communications even though those communications are insufficient/inappropriate, but they are the least likely of any health insurance company to pay claims. My conclusion is United Healthcare is not a good company if you have serious medical problems.

Whether or not a supplement can overcome United's shortcomings is yet to be determined, but I don't recommend this company if you have major medical problems.
