Su Zhe Eatery

This restaurant is one of my family’s favorites. Unlike other well-presented Chinese restaurants in the area, the prices are reasonable for the large servings. The flavors are authentic, though some dishes are on the greasier side (mainly vegetable dishes like the string beans or mushrooms).
I recommend coming early, before lunch or dinner rushes, for the best experience. I usually eat here around 5:30 pm and get the first dish in 10 minutes since the servers are unoccupied.

Delicious food, nice staff, quick service. Prices are high compared to Montreal where I'm from, but I think that's just the South bay area as a whole and not just this place.

Try the scallion pancakes and the veggie pot stickers are pretty great too! Eggplant and garlic was delicious as well.

Don't take American express.

This was a truly fabulous authentic Chinese restaurant. We had a Chinese friend go with a group of 15 people. The menu, for him, came in Chinese. I am sure they have English menu too. I had dishes that we're amazing I never heard of before. This is really a gem in Silicon Valley...

We ordered pork kidney, hot & sour soup, cheese puffs (crab rangoon), and cold tofu with century egg. Everything was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. Service was lightning fast, the waitress was nice and very attentive~ A gem of a find in Palo Alto.

Truly a diamond in the rough.... Great food and awesome service too. Andy, one of the waiters will make sure you’re satisfied with your meal.

I haven't been to Su Hongs in 19 years, but fondly remember them as Some of the best Chinese food ever... (My family ate there every Thursday for a decade or so) No one can compare to their Rolling Lettuce Chicken or Sesame Chicken (no breading, just sesame!) @ least from 20 years ago. They gave me and my sister our first Shirley Temples, we played Pac man while we waited for our table (which wasn't ever that long anyway) and their Fried Bananas were the business!! I would LOVE to eat their again someday soon!

Excellent. A Peninsular icon. Menlo Park closed suddenly and sadly. Palo Alto was good second choice. Now it seems that is closing in 2019. Su Hong will be missed I don't know of any Chinese with a similar style. Many happy meals. I wish there was a similar alternative.

This is the best place ever! I love it because the dishes (tried chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, rice, noodles) are full of flavor but not at all greasy, which is hard to find. The service is perfect.

I enjoy this place. It is not hardcore Chinatown food, just right for me most of the time. In particular I love the press duck. Not many places still prepare this dish so I always get an order.

Dim sum in Silicon Valley? Why yes!!!!

If you like chow mein or chow fun, then you simply have to try their Hand shaved noodles. It's a delightful dish that will leave your taste buds screaming for more!!!

Everything is wonderful and I am very happy to say that they do not use MSG in their kitchen!!

We often order from Su Hong - have been doing so for over 40 years. Now with To-Go and Delivery, we get our favorite Chinese Food at home. What's not to love?

One of our favorite Chinese restaurant in the South Bay. Definitely get the pork shoulder - it's to die for. Vegetables are always fresh and the service friendly and helpful.

Neat and clean environment which Chinese places lack often. Very Shanghainese. Great service. One of the best chinese places in the area in all perspectives. Red braided pork is a must have!

Excellent Shanghai soup dumplings, hot & sour soup and mushi pork (with real super thin rice pancakes). Worth a trip or for very tasty takeout!

Spicy fishtail in shanghai brown sauce. Mongolian lamb. Skip the Canonese dishes, this is the place to go for Shanghai-style cooking. I live in Los Angeles, and every time we go to the SF Bay area, we set aside one evening for dinner at Su Hong.

Love the food here and the owners are always very nice. Their moo shu chicken is delicious and not greasy. Great for take out too!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurant in bay area. Salt duck is pretty good and smoked fish, they are two of my must order dishes.

The general's Chicken is the best plate of food I've ever eaten. I'd recommend the pot stickers too. I drive from Chico to get this food.

We have been coming here for decades. The original is closed in Menlo Park. Basic Chinese food both Chinese and Caucasian can like. I’m glad they brought back the duck.

The best Chinese food I had in a real long time. There's more meat then veggies which I loved, cook very well and quick delivery.
