It was a beautiful morning for hiking. We met people on the trail but it was not crowded. We took the counter clockwise loop, which gets steep downhill. Not too difficult but knees get a good workout. Otherwise the is clean and wide. There is plenty of parking in the lot. The views from the top are beautiful.

Spacious county park with a variety of hiking trails leading to historical sites, ruins of old mining communities and beautiful vistas. The English Camp area is a personal favorite to hike to within the park.

I had an amazing time at Almaden Quicksilver County Park during my afternoon hike. We started from the Webb Canyon Trailhead. The trail offered a perfect blend of medium to challenging levels, making it a great adventure. The scenic views along the way were simply stunning, and I was fortunate to spot a graceful deer on our journey back. If you are looking for workout and hike, this is definitely your park!

I came here after a week of rain, and the grounds and trail were still in very good shape. I came on a Sunday afternoon and encountered nobody on the trail! It was nice and private. The trail itself is great for getting in shape! The incline has a very steep grade. My Portuguese Water Dog Mack and I had an excellent workout! This trail is also dog-friendly. The views are amazing! The hike was very serene and peaceful. On the day we came, there was a a massive double 🌈 rainbow! It was absolutely amazing!!!

Awesome steep trails, great views of the bay and Mt. Um.
No restrooms or water anywhere. Beware of poison oak and snakes.

This is an amazing county park in back of a neighborhood! Lots of parking and many trails to choose from. Lots of up hill but trails are well marked and in good condition. Good variety of vegetation and picnic tables along the route. Some sunny areas as well as shaded areas so bring sunscreen and lots of water.

It is Beautiful this time of year to hike at Almaden Quicksilver. (3/21/2021).
The park has so many different trails and well marked.
An amazing history of the mine, Guadalupe Reservoir, Almaden Lake, and very spectacular views of San Jose Bay.
I was used Mockingbird Hill Parking, with no entrance fee, it has a bathroom at the trailhead.
I was hiked 16 miles, and 2,500 ft of elevation gain.
My hike was not easy because it was a long-distance but it was not too difficult since it was not steep.
It’s nice rolling hills with some great views of the valley, and not too crowded.
Tons of fun!! Lots of shade and little sun.
Good balance of incline and decline.
During early spring, the park offers one of the most spectacular wildflower displays.
The secret of happiness is to discover all the marvels of California.
Happy Hike Everyone!!!

A beautiful hiking spot. There are quite a few trails to choose from depending on the distance and elevation you wish to go for. These are all open trails (hardly any shade), so I highly suggest to carry a bottle of water and a hat. The best time would be to start early in the morning so you can avoid the heat if you plan to hike in summer.

My favorite hiking place. Free and spacious parking lots. open from sunrise to sunset. A maze of amazing trails, shaded or not, for all day hiking, from easy to hard loop trails. You can hike all the way to Mount Umunhum peak if you dare.
There are several of runnings as well throughout the year on these trails and is gonna be crowded, but most of the time is not.
You can bring your mt. bike, there are trails for that too, your dog, even your ponny if you like.
Children friendly trails as well, to introduce them to nature, and the history of the quiksilver mines. There are picnic tables along the trails to rest and take a snack. another areas have bbq pits, the restrooms are located in all the parking lots around the area ... you have to explore the lots of trails and you could see tarantulas, rattlesnakes, vultures, turkeys, bunnies and deers early morning or close to sunset. And if you like fishing the Almaden reservoir is close by.

Visited on a beautiful spring day. Gorgeous hillside sets off the verdant (for CA) valleys below. Spectacular greenery punctuated by colorful blooms on every hand. Entered via Wood Road entrance. Ample (free) parking both sides of the road. Hiked Wood Road (mostly green) to Yellow Kid Trail, then walked partway on Cemetary Trail to see Almaden Reservoir. Motherlode of superbloom of poppies on YKTrail, plus a lovely shaded spot w picnic tables and a fabulous view of Almaden Valley. Shade available for ~ 15% of the hike. Leisuerly pace took us 3 hours. Highly recommend.

Beautiful trail, a lot of different length options so you can do a really long hike, or take a shorter loop depending on how much time you have. Parking wasn't too crowded and it was free.

Not much shade so not sure that i would recommend it in the summer, but the temperature was perfect in the winter

A beautiful pristine county park with many different entrances, each entrance would surprise you with rustic views. This particular season is extra beautiful due to the super blooms.

I come to this park to bike; however, lots of people come here to walk. There are only a few bike trails and they are wide fire road type trails. But the trails on which bikes are permitted are fun with good mix of pain, rewards and views. Cool history and archeological sites throughout the park. After biking the park, I descend to the west entrance and make a loop around the mountain for a 24 mile excursion or head to Calera for a 30 miler. At the Hacienda entrance there are portable toilets. It will be hot during warmer months or days. Immediately from the Hacienda entrance, the main trail goes up for 1.5 or so miles. If you're looking for level biking/hiking, I don't recommend this park. For others, whether you bike or hike, this is a great park to check out.

Go early to find street parking, but otherwise have fun enjoying miles and miles of hikeable trails. Nothing is too challenging on its own, but if you want to kick things up a notch, go for the longer routes or for a nice trail run!

For starters bring lots of water! Enough that even bobby Bushea would approve.

The views are great and the overall hike was fantastic. The route my friends and I took was a gradual climb that wasn't too intense. If you are going to hit any trails I highly recommend the All trails app. Super helpful with navigating the proper trail (mainly the length of trail you want to do).

Lovely place for a hike. So many trails to choose from. There are 3 park entrances. Parking is free. It’s never too busy. Make sure to take a map and view the topography as some of the trails and quit steep and are not for all fitness levels. Some trails allow horses and mountain bikes. There are lots of wildlife to observe such as deer, birds of prey, and gophers. Good place to see spring wildflowers.

It’s a beautiful park with great hiking. People also bike, hog, ride their horses and walk their dogs. Views are gorgeous and there’s great variety of terrain - sunny hills, shady forest, lakeside etc. Hills are not too steep.
I parked on the street (McAbbee Rd) which was free and easy. You can do QuickSilver 5mile loop from there. (See pictures). Entrance has restrooms (Porto potty).
Overall fantastic place for hiking.

Beautiful when the hills are green. Get ready to climb. We had a nice race that took off from here and winded all around for 13 miles; really a great time for New Years Day 2022.
