Wallace Stegner Pathway

I use this pathway regularly, either on foot or horseback. Nice to be away from traffic, with great connector trails either end..

Nice place to walk dogs and connect to LAH trails.

For anyone trying to get a real-life taste of Stegner’s California, this pathway falls short, now that it is surrounded by development. Nowhere on the trail did I sense the setting described in “All the Little Live Things”, as I had hoped. But that was written long enough ago that two more generations have built homes and divided properties to satisfy our exponential population growth, especially in lovely California climates.
Also, the sign for the path is at a spot with little to no parking, so that’s troublesome. But if you lived around there, it would be nice to have a path to enjoy walking on, rather than the busy streets.

Seems a nice trail, but we were swarmed by wasps 0.5 miles in. My daughter was stung 3 times and I had to pick up the kids and make a hasty retreat! Not sure what triggered them, we were just walking the trail.
