Coyote Peak and Ridge Trail Loop -
3.8 miles and 1 hr 50 mins to complete
Moderately challenging

Probably the Best park in San Jose since there are Lots of different trails & many different ways to choose from. The trails are clearly marked, but they can get a bit muddy after rains. Benches are scattered around the scenic spots.
The best time to visit is in April. Since the trail is completely exposed, April is not that hot. Also you can see a lot of wild flowers, even Poppy.
Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Kids friendly hike

Good jogging/hiking trails. Been my park for over 50 years. Looking SW, the low grassy hills are RanchoSan Vicente/Calaro.The woody hills behind that is Almaden QuickSilver Park

Vibrant and alive grasslands. Soothing my eyes and soul. Easy trials. Too early for wildflowers blooming. Will definitely go back soon.

Beautiful park. Lots of different trails, lots of different ways to go. There are some amazing views of the San Jose area and the hills. On a clear day day you can see all the way from San Francisco to Morgan Hill. Yes really! The biggest hill-climb is steep. Worth it. We saw lizards, squirrels, a coyote, snake, wild flowers, creek, golf course

Nice place for an evening hike in the bay. Tales about an hr and 50 mins to complete the loop. Can see a lot of wild flowers( in the season), nice views of the city from the top and spot bunnies and birds on the way.

Saw a large bloom of orange poppies in the hillside by the Stiles Ranch parking lot. Hiking up the Stiles Ranch trail goes right into the bloom area. Saw some nice views and other wildflowers as I continued along a loop trail back to parking lot.

Very nice hiking trails provide a good workout challenge. I was there about a week after the heavy rains in January 2023 so there was still a lot of water/mud on some portions of the trail that I was on. Very nice view and there was a nice little waterfall that added to the charm.

🤗 Right next to where I grew up and where my parents still live. Parking is $6.
You can park in the neighborhood below and walk/bike up for free though (steep incline on the way up is no joke).
Hiking trails, biking, equestrian trails, picnic benches and pavilion areas. In the summer for a few years they used to do movies in the park up here at dusk. Currently not anymore. California poppies sprouting up around end of March/beginning April.

Great group picnic area. Great parking. Bring a bottle of Gatorade to place a waze away from the picnic area to entertain the yellow jacket bees.

Took Mine Trail in a northerly direction from the small parking lot on Bernal Road. That led to Bernal Hill Trail for a 3 mile loop. Visited on 3/18/22, and it became obvious that slopes that faced north were still green, even lush, in spots, while south-facing slopes were already drying out. But springtime wildflowers were in abundance on all trails. Excellent views of South San Jose neighborhoods and the mountains surrounding the South Bay. It’s a bit more trafficked than the more remote trails around the Bay Area, which is understandable given the easy accessibility to the park from 101. The power lines are a bit of an eyesore, but the rest of the park is attractive.

I had a nice experience at this archery range! The facilities were clean and well-maintained, making it a great place to enjoy archery. I would highly recommend this range to both beginners and experienced archers.

While mostly open and a bit dry this is a really fun place to hike with plenty of views. We have entered in at three different trailheads, and I recommend finding an entrance at the level of the golf course rather than driving up. There is plenty of elevation. The trails are well marked but can be rocky making steep downhills a bit challenging. We always see a lot of wildlife, particularly deer.

This is one of my favourite parks in South Bay. I went there today (4/29). Peak bloom passed but there are still awesome wild flowers along Rocky Ridge trail

Lovely place for a hike or MTB ride (can be technical though). Best time of the year is spring when poppies are out. Main lot has a parking fee.

This is a beautiful park with amazing views at the top and great trails to hike. Even when there's a lot of cars, the trails aren't crowded.

This is a great safe place to go hiking. If you have a dog you are able to bring them as long as they are on a leash. Luckily every Trail is easy to find and even easier to find your way back. The bathrooms are super clean and they are always stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap. Last time I went the meter to charge for parking was down but keep in mind that you should have cash on you just in case the ticket meter is working again. Last time I checked used to be $6.

Wonderful spot for hiking and views. Less shade towards the second half, can be a bit steep. Saw turkeys and cattle. Plenty of free parking.

Gorgeous park just a few miles off highway. I came at the right time when wildflowers were blooming. Many trails from mild to steep to choose from. Perfect place for picnic.
