$20 for a men's haircut. Efficient, but wait can vary from 5 minutes to 45, depending on how busy they are. Weekends are usually worse. Make an appointment (these can run late as well) or walk in.

Had my beard trimmed and cleaned up, and hair cut. The lady was very attentive and the quality of the work was so much. Will definitely be back.

Conveniently located in San Antonio Center and near Kohl's, Target, Walmart, Trader Joe's, and Safeway. I was very happy with the location, convenience, service, hours, and haircut. My stylist was Tammy and she listened to what I needed and delivered a really great haircut that was soft-edged and looked like it had grown in for a few days already. I like a haircut that looks professional and I am excited to confidently show up to the office. Haircuts are affordable, which means I can go back more often and look my best.

I will definitely be going back here as long as I can. This is a great small business to support.

I scheduled an appointment for a haircut and root touch-up. I was concerned about the color processing time and color application because Mai accepted two walk-ins ( not for a haircut) but for root touch-up and one for hilites, within 10 min of each other while my color was being applied. Yes, I agree that there is an opportunity to make more money, but what is most important is to avoid mistakes and over processing your client's hair. I made the appointment, and the other two did not. Please learn to say no to a walk-up color/hilite request when you have already a client receiving color processing in your chair. I was a little bit stressed out about the overall result. Clearly, everything became hurried. My color was okay, but the haircut was not precise and not what I desired.

I went to Grateful Head today hoping to find a barber who knew how to do the 2 block haircut, a trendy and good looking korean hairstyle. Most of the barbers I went to do not know how to do it, which is very simple, cutting around the sides and back of the hair. However, when I went today, Mai cut my hair and she did it so neatly that it exceeded my expectations! Not to mention that the haircut was at a reasonable price as well. Great job today, 10/10 service, would definitely recommend and come again!

I think Mai is the owner. She alternates with another stylist whenever I come in. You can call to make an appointment, but also can walk in. Put your name on the list and you can list your preferred stylist next to your name. I don't think I've ever waited more than 20 minutes, but I usually come in before 5 pm on a weekday. I bring someone else to get cut. I actually haven't gotten a haircut here.

Haircuts without wash included are $20, no difference between short and long cut prices. Seniors or kids is $18. Shave is $10. Color costs $60+ and highlights or lowlights for women are $65 and up, men's are cheaper. $12 for eyebrow wax.

The shop has a very clean and bright environment. The barber was very friendly and chose a very nice hair style for me and finished quickly in 15 minutes at reasonable price. I will come again.

Simple, friendly, fast, good price. I usually call to see if there is a wait time or not.

Update: After about 20 visits within approximately two years I still give five stars.

My only criticism is that the interior including the furniture and tools need an update.

Awesome place to go to and SUPPORT. The owner gave our whole family a haircut! during COVID she's running the show ALL by herself from open to close. She's really good and fast at cutting hair for men, women and kids!! She has a great personality and the prices are extremely fair. Highly recommend you go here and do whatever you can to support them. They have been open for 30 years and are facing really tough times right now.

When I walked in, the owner was there to greet me, and with a smile. I was taken back immediately and it was a pleasant experience.
I stopped in as I just needed wax and saw the place, and was so happy I did. I will return again when in the area. VERY reasonable prices as well. COVID 19 passed and precautions being taken.

Mai is great. Cut and color is always on point. Not a fancy place, but comfortable. They're really good at Men's cuts too!

I bring my daughter who is disable and Mai is always kind and patience with her, she is always so happy after her hair cut and Mai uses hair products and my daughter is just a delight to see her be treated like a regular customer❤

My children have been going to Grateful Head since they were in elementary school. That's 10 years ago. I started patronizing the place myself recently. Why not? It's a local business, friendly, efficient, and provides good value. It's great for no frill haircuts and coloring! So happy that it's open for business again during this pandemic.

I can not recommend Mai's service more. She is a master of her craft and also a truly wonderful human being. She treats everyone with respect, speaks enthusiastically about her family, and you will be happy to have met such a genuine human being. Tip big because she deserves it!

Walked in, in the chair within 5 min. Was asked what I wanted and voila, done 15 minutes later. Just got 4 inches off and some long layers. Looks good and was a very good price at $17. Didn't think I could find a decent and affordable haircut after moving here but I'm glad I did.

Have been going to the salon for about 10 years . Stylist Mai is the best. Professional and very upfront about costs and if the style is suitable or not .
The salon is very Covid prepared , spotlessly clean , best hygiene standards maintained.
