Poor Clare Nuns

Love this monastery. Mass is early at 7am but worth the drive up the hills. Was surprised to find about 7 of the stations of the cross missing inside the little chapel.

Beautiful and peaceful place to pray. They have early morning mass then Adoration all day. It’s feels like a retreat up there on the mountain. One of my favorite places to pray in the Bay Area!

My cousin was a cloistered nun here and when I went to her funeral it was so beautiful and peaceful.

I attended the first time this morning at the 7am mass.
4-19-24. I would have to say I arrived around 6:35am
When I entered into the small chapel I felt at peace.
As I was praying the rosary one of Poor Clare Nuns had a very bad cough and stuffy nose.
She kept coughing and coughing nonstop.
Thank goodness I wear a mask 😷.
I was concerned for others.
When the Priest arrived for the 7am.
When he came out to start the mass he had his back turned away from me and many others.
While he did the mass he was looking through open Area in the back where there were other Clare Nuns were you couldn’t hear signal thing he said and it came to readings you couldn’t hear them either.
I understand this is catholic tradition here.
We are in the year of 2024.
I stayed until he finished doing everything he is supposed to do.
I didn’t stay for holy communion I left…..
I had driven away from Redwood City to come to your small chapel.
I’m sorry but I will not be returning back here anytime soon or later time.
I will praying for the Poor Clare Nun that she gets well from her terrible cold and cough 😷.
