Food Fix Butcher & Baker

I've had just about everything on the menu and it never disappoints. Made from scratch daily breads and the local ingredients really shine in all the recipes. The local brewery's on tap (20 taps) is a big plus. Not only is the food and service always top notch, they also offer classes (sausage making, bread making, etc) and beer pairing dinners. Definitely a highly recommended stop.

Update 1/27/24: Tonight we attended a beer pairing dinner and it was amazing. I'll add new pictures below with the menu. If you like beer, and food of course, watch out for the next one on March 2. The lamb was to die for, so tender. And the dessert, wow!
Addendum, 4/30/22: amazingly I chose the meal as a few years ago. Same comments apply. This time I had a Last Call stout which was smooth, a but sweet and not too burnt tasting like some stouts. Old review: This was our first visit to the downtown location. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the Thursday special pineapple milkshake IPA by Blaker along with grilled cheese sandwiches. I had the quinoa side, which was delicious. The sandwich was good, but the bread was a bit too thick.

We visited on. Thursday afternoon around d 2pm. It was not busy at all. We got our food and drinks super quickly. Good variety of beers on tap. I got the cranberry cider, and it was great. We ordered sandwiches all around. Food was excellent. So good. The jalapeno mac and cheese was just right. We also got the Filthy fries. Also excellent. Definitely coming back. Service was also great, friendly and fast.

Always my favorite spot when i am in Modesto. The menu has such a tasty selection. I love the seasonal food kits and extras to take home whether it's fresh sausage or deserts. They have their own beer now too!!! A must try.

I just happened upon this hole in the wall restaurant while on recess from jury duty. The prices seemed high to me at first but then I realized almost everything was artisanal, and the portions very generous. I am very glad I decided to try it!! Hands down some of the best food I have had in Modesto and the craftsmanship that goes into every component is admirable. The #16 tap fruited sour was one of the best beers I have ever had. I had the peppered sandwich at recommendation and it was so good! I will definitely be coming back and bringing anyone that I can with me

The atmosphere is HELLA LOCAL. The food has a light cajun flavor and they have a great beer selection. The kitchen closes by 9pm. The service is fast and efficient.

Tip your tender!

I fell in love with this place with just one bite. I ordered their famous Porkstrami sandwich and holy cow!!! It was one of the best things I've ever tasted in my entire life. It was flavorful, juicy, tender and just checked all the boxes. The place is clean, laid back and was very enjoyable to be in. The staff was happy and friendly which is a rarity these days. They had a nice selection of craft beers as well as homemade desserts. The only problem I found with this place is that they are not down the street from my house. I'd go back daily if I could!

We are really liking this place. Excellent food. The lobster sub is my current favorite, fresh and light. The clam chowder is like no other, very delicious. The ribs are to die for. The best I've ever had.

Porkstrami and pretzel is a classic must have, the beer mustard is rich and delicious. If they have the bandito chili it's a tasty spice for this cold weather. Beer tenders and cooks had this down during their house packed trivia night on Thursday although I did go 30 minutes before it started. Much love to the FoodFixFam.

Always delicious food and friendly staff, most recent time I went here was for the Mac and cheese competition they hosted here, so not only was I given the same delicious food I always am, but I got to sample some of our own little local chefs home cooking. Very nice vibe of the place, highly recommend.

Stop by to meet up a friend of mine on my way back home. Got brunch and it was simply amazing. 👌

Love this place! Great quality food and drinks with a feel good atmosphere. Longtime fan of original truck and def a fan of this place too!

This menu did NOT disappoint. Loved the $19 porkstrami and pretzel with a side of amazing alfredo mac and cheese and potato salad. Not shown: Focaccia bread grilled cheese with white cheddar and Havarti and an all beef hot dog. Ended on a cheesecake mini and s'mores cookie. Everything is made fresh in house.

Portions are large enough to share!

The Chipotle Mac and cheese is AMAZING. Probably one of my favorite things I've ate in DOMO. The grilled cheese I had wasn't anything to special but the Mac alone will keep me coming here. Gets VERY busy during lunch time. Great selection of beers and they make the bread from scratch.

Absolutely fantastic food and solid service. I can't say enough about the quality of the food, top notch!! You would regret not coming and seeing for yourself. Period!... so don't wait wait... hurry, get on down there!!!

We're new to Modesto and had a great experience here. The service was friendly and accommodating. We sat outside on the patio with our service dog, and they even brought her a water dish. The food was excellent, especially the pulled pork. The bread on the sandwiches was sheer perfection, fresh baked cookies amazing! I'm definitely going back soon to try all their microbrewed beers.

Love sitting at the bar, they’ve told me they usually only do one barrel of any one beer at a time, so the taps are constantly rotating!
Haven’t ordered anything on the menu that I didn’t love!

Been a big fan since I discovered the food truck. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I don’t know what they put in the peppered jack club but I’m definitely addicted. Would highly recommended.

I came to visit my "lovely" hometown of Modesto today and ate here. FIRE food, GREAT beers, and PHENOMENAL service. Absolutely enjoyed every bit of it! Will definitely visit again.

Ate here again recently. Still 100% wonderful place! Awesome staff. Biancatron is a sweet heart!
