Stanford Dish park offers a serene escape into nature, complete with stunning views and the occasional deer sighting. The well-maintained trails make it perfect for a leisurely stroll or an energizing hike. A must-visit for nature lovers!

Enterance at Alpine Road will take you to 3 uphill slopes to get to 2 hiking trails. I think these 3 slopes are the most challenging and once you get through them then the rest of the hike is not too challenging. I'm not an experienced hiker so if I can do this almost anyone can. 😂

Paved hiking trail for when the nature trails are muddy. Nice views of campus. No restrooms. Not sure there's water.

One of the best spots to hike, walk or jog. The view especially sunrise is just amazing. Highly recommend this spot.

Our hiking group started at the trailhead on Alpine Road. It was about a 5.5 mile hike, we went clockwise around the loop. Parking was difficult on Alpine Road. There aren't a lot of parking spaces and the trail was particularly crowded after all the heavy rains lately. The hike is great after rains as it is paved, just avoiding hiking in the mud.

That said, the hike had some magnificent views - to SF, SJ, and the East Bay. We saw wild turkeys and a number of raptors. The wildflowers weren't out quite yet but I would expect to see more in the next few weeks.

An awesome trail with great view. About 3.7 miles. We usually go counterclockwise, starting up lightly. The clockwise version starts very steeply. The gates remain open to enter until 6:30pm (from March to ~Oct) and you must exit by ~7pm. We usually hike the whole loop (from the entrance door) in about 55-60 minutes.

Beautiful, clean, and fully paved loop trail, with great views of Bay Area and the Stanford Campus in particular. Full loop is about 3.75 mile easy/moderate hike, taking about 90 minutes at a very leisurely pace. Pets are allowed only if they are support/service animals, something to keep in mind. Parking is available on Stanford Ave just before the turn to Junipero Serra.

Great place for a nice hike and workout. There is some elevation just enuf to get your heart rate up but not strenuous. It's a good 3.5 mile loop with great views.
It's an all asphalt path so makes an easy hike/run and you can bring strollers for kids. But no biking or pets allowed. Most of the loop had no shade and no water so plan accordingly.
I went on a winter morning it was still nice but foggy though if imagine in spring this would be gorgeous.
Stanford gate is the popular place to enter but parking can get tight on weekends.

While it may not be the most remote or secluded trail, the rolling hills and lush grass in spring would make anyone a fan. Parking at the main entrance can be difficult so arrive early or be prepared to walk a good distance.

About 3.5 miles of trail. Nice at sunset saw plenty of deer and even a red-faced hawk. Nice to get away if you're close by but you can still hear the freeway. Also a lot of people walk here while they're having conversations and phone calls. Also lots of people with strollers around 5p. I can see this trail will be amazing for running.

Some great, not-too-challenging walking trails around the Dish. You can’t actually get too close to the Dish itself as it was entirely protected by fencing.

It is a must go, If you have more time when you visit Stamford area. A nice 5 km running trail, no bike no dog. But to get the trail. It's about one Mile and more uphill road to "climb". So, be energetic. Be prepared and be there. ✌✌

One of the most beautiful hikes. The day I went had sporadic rain and it had been raining for 2 weeks. So the whole place was emerald green and really beautiful. It's not strenuous. You can finish it at a leisurely pace in 1.5 hrs. There are no restrooms.

Go early in the morning and park by the back entrance. Opens at 6am, parking lot is full at 7.30am. The dish looks amazing with the green hills now ... the amazing variation of different birds singing in the morning is beautiful.

Pretty trail, especially in the afternoon right before sunset. Perfect for hiking and sometimes you can see deers or foxes, or both.

I went for a lovely 6k run/hike, which included a bit of elevation. This wasn't my first time here, but it was just as nice as ever. During the tour, we spotted a snake, a desert tarantula, and some deer. It's best to keep on the paved street and an eye out for these creatures, but we didn't have any problems. The weekends tend to be very crowded, weekdays less. The sunset provided excellent lighting and the views were magnificent.

Wonderful paved walking area. Great views into the Los Altos Hills and back into the valley around Stanford and Palo Altos. The views from the Loop trail extend from Salesforce tower in SAN to downtown San Jose. Very kid friendly. No bathrooms.

A good hike. Nothing to complain about! Just a note: prepare to walk up some hills. If you bring a stroller, get ready to push!

Beautiful trail with paved path and great views. I went during sunset and I could see beautiful colors in the sky, ranging from yellow, orange and pink.
