Support local Hardware/Garden store. You can find books on local Santa Cruz and San Lorenzo Valley history. Wonderful projects for children. Many clerks that will ask you what you are looking for to help you find what you need. Now open more hours so check to find out how late they are open. Very clean and organized Store

This is by far my favorite hardware store of all
time! Everyone in that store is so incredibly helpful. It is so refreshing to see the young employees especially, working hard and being kind.. smiles all the time. A truly exceptional bunch.. they should start a business that teaches others how to be good employees and just good people. Thank you all for bringing light into a cynical world!

This is a well managed, properly run hardware store. The Stihl department is well staffed and knowledgeable. You cannot go down the aisles without an employee trying to help you find the items you are looking for.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fast service as they have multiple cashiers available all the time. Not a box store like Home Depot but it does have all the necessary hardware for small home projects and maintenance.

These guys know what they're doing! Good selection of products, nice and most importantly knowledgeable staff. Typically a hardware store isn't a 'whole family event' but even our toddler loves it here. We like to support local businesses and it's usually our first stop- only on rare occasions do we have to go to one of their larger competitors to find specialty items.

I went in today after having two poor experiences finding a common tool in two other chain hardware stores. Scarborough ACE could not be a more different experience.

When you go in, you will immediately notice a clean, well stocked store with a friendly staff and happy customers. The aisles are well-marked; I was able to find the correct item within thirty seconds. The tool I needed was locked down, as I expected, so I asked a staff person to unlock it for me. They responded immediately and offered to hand it over or leave it at checkout- my preference. I was rung up by another friendly, efficient staff member. I was asked if I had a rewards card but not battered about it. The price was dead on what I hoped for, with higher and lower priced versions in other sizes also available.

When I left I noticed a sale outside- fill up a bag with overstock or recycled items from the bins for $10. There was great stuff with a lot of variety in there, and I ended up hitting up the deal as well with project assistance from more knowledgeable, never pushy or arrogant staff.

What a store! Long live this Scarborough ACE.

Shout out to Tyler and all the guys who work in the Stihl department, I go in there fairly frequently and these guys really know all the Nitty-gritty details about almost every aspect of Stihl hardware. On top of that they are super friendly and are extremely courteous and they really take their time listening to questions and explaining concepts, no matter how simple the topics may seem. Thanks guys, you rock

Love this place! Would give it another star if I could. It's rare that I have to go anywhere else for my tool and hardware needs, and there are many well interconnected associates who are truly happy to help one with anything.
I have always felt welcome here.

This is one of the best hardware stores I have been to. They have the best Stihl collection in all of Santa Cruz County. The staff is extremely helpful and seem to be always available. Every visit has been a great pleasure, and even calling to see if they have something in stock is easy. They have actual humans that answer the phone. Shocker!

The minute you walk in someone will ask if you need help. If you say yes, they will walk you over to the area where you need to be and they will answer your questions and help you select just the right item.
They also repair Stihl products and a friend took my weed whacker into the repair counter and they replaced the fuel cap for 8.00 and my friend was out the door.

There is a red haired guy who works there who is always really helpful. I love going in and checking out the BBQ and gift section. It is a really great local hardware store.

After 25 years living in silicon valley and suffering with the slow degradation of service and selection it was A JOY to walk into a hardware store that in the first 30 sec i was asked 3x if i needed help and they have ACTUAL HARDWARE... u know the section with a 1000 drawers of every possible hardware widget that the big box stores stopped carrying years ago... what a breath of fresh air ... THANK YOU ACE HARDWARE!

Very helpful staff at this Scarborough location. They always seem to have the parts or service I was looking for.
From an Excellent paint department with Sierra to help find the right primer to a wide selection of bolts, nuts and screws this store seemed to have it all.

Walked in about 5:15 with my Stihl chain saw wanting a new bar and chain along with a new fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter. The 2 repair department guys took good care of me right away. I was expecting to leave it overnight or 2 days but they assured me they could take care of me right away. I couldn't be more happier. AND they stay open until 7:00 on weeknights! Highly recommend doing business with this store!

I have been here several times and without fail every time there are always helpful, friendly employees on hand asking if I need help finding anything. Great local store, saves me a 30m+ drive into Santa Cruz.
