Rustic House Oyster Bar & Grill - Los Altos

They are not kidding when they say that their oysters were huge. We really enjoyed the oysters. Our child had pasta from the kiddie menu. We also had the hanger steak with chimichurri sauce, the steak was tender. The server we had was attentive and always checked if everything is ok from our table. The food came out longer than we expected but it was ok.

Pleasant location with friendly and accommodating staff. I brought my dog along and had no issue with dining outside since it was a nice and chilly evening.
The three of us ordered the ceviche and steamed clams and were delicious. The sauce was rich and tasty, although a tad bit salty to my tastes but nothing that would overwhelm the taste.

This is a lovely restaurant in downtown Los Altos. The menu weighs on the fresh and seasonal produce and... oysters! very flavorful preparation of traditional dishes and a very gentle and nice service. We had a family dinner and we really enjoyed both the food and hospitality. We'll be back, thanks!

Been there twice, had a good time both visits. I don't know much about oysters specifically, but the person I went with went on about "the small ones here are great", and I trust their opinion when it comes to oyster quality. The other non-oyster dishes I tried were pleasant and somewhat reserved on their flavoring. Other seafood places I've been to seem to like putting lots of salt and other spices in the dishes, this place is a bit more subtle about it which puts more emphasis on the texture. Staff was also very friendly both times I visited. I'm more than happy to visit again when the occasion arises.

A friend took me to try this place. Ordered the calamari and the ceviche as appetizers. Loved the shrimp appetizer. For the main course I ordered CIOPPINO. It was great as tou get to sample all kinds of seafood items Ina savory tomatoe sauce. We sat outside and it was a great choice. Atmosphere and weather was perfect. I would only sit outside next time I visit.

We had a dozen of raw and grilled oysters. Both were delicious but we liked the raw one more. Really, really fresh! We all enjoyed our entrees, prawns Caesar salad, cioppino with pasta, Alaskan cod tacos, lobster roll, sole, mahi mahi, and crab & lobster Alfredo pasta! Yummy!

Will visit again!

Upscale, reliably fresh seafood. Fantastic succulent lobster roll, raw oysters on ice, creamy crab linguine leaves an indelible food memory. Sign up for their app to get special deals. Consistenly good quality and nice portions. Prices are high but worth it.

We just found our new favorite seafood restaurant! We went during the holiday weekend & they still made room for us. The restaurant staff followed all health precautions & were very courteous. The food was Amazing so much so we had to add a to go order.

$40 for 12 raw oysters 🦪 is a good price for Bay Area. I also got shrimp ceviche and a glass of sparking. Oysters were great, this is my new favorite place. Service was attentive. It’s a little dark outside but overall great place.

Went in and had a delicious dinner. Cheesy bread and clam chowder was tasty. The lobster rolls and fries were absolutely great. Hadn’t been there for a while, so glad we made it back.

Great service, food is tasty, big plates, served fast. Easy to find parking, there is a parking lot close to the Main Street where you can find a place for your car.

The food was delicious! We loved the octopus and grilled oyster appetizers. I had the seared scallops in bourbon sauce and it was amazing. David was our server and took great care of us.

Five stars for both food and service! We got to the restaurant at 9pm as both Yelp and Google map says they closes at 10pm. However upon arrival, waiter told us that last order is actually 9 but the manager kindly welcomed us as we only wanted a quick bite of oysters and soup. Fantastic service also at the bar, much appreciated for accommodating us!

First of all, please call in if you're arriving after 8:30pm. They close at 9pm, not 10pm as Yelp and Google indicate.

My friend and I got there at 9pm and were politely rejected. However, after the waiter chatted with the manager, they sat us down at the bar. We received amazing service from both the bartender and the manager and enjoyed our oysters, soup, and drink. The oysters were extremely fresh!

Rustic House is a popular restaurant that is perfect for groups of all sizes. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose the option that best suits your needs. The indoor seating has a bar area where you can watch sports on several large screens, while the outdoor seating is more casual and offers fresh air.

We went to Rustic House as a group and had a great experience. The staff was attentive and took care of us very well, from making our reservation to taking our orders and delivering our food. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we especially enjoyed the Oyster Samplers, Ceviche, Braised Mediterranean Octopus, Crispy Calamari, Fresh Dungeness Crab Cakes, Rustic Pizza, Creme Brulee, Ice Creams and drinks. We were a loud and lively group, and we had a lot of fun laughing and talking.

If you go to Rustic House on a weekend night, you might be able to catch a live band playing in downtown Los Altos. This is a great way to enjoy the atmosphere of the city while you enjoy your meal.

The clam chowder is one is the best I’ve ever had. There’s no big potato pieces that act as fillers. The fish isn’t heavily breaded and not too oily.

We love Rustic House. This is our go-to for date night. The outdoor pallet is amazing as is their service and food. Highly recommend the cheesy garlic bread, the grilled artichokes, and the fish tacos. Yum!
They have great cocktails, including the Fisherman's Sangria.
