Professional, knowledgeable and wonderful vet! Our animals are happy and healthy thanks to Westside Animal Hospital!

I have been taking my animals, cats and a dog, here for almost 8 years. Everyone is thoughtful and caring and the vets always take time to answers as many questions as I have and share their own thoughts without ever seeming rushed. They are mindful of the cost of everything and never pressure. I never worry that my pets aren't getting the best care.

I love this hospital. Everyone who works here is kind and understanding. I definitely feel comfortable bringing Clove (cat) here for treatment and checkups. Clove hates her carrier but she likes everyone here because she hasn't been a problem towards any of them. She do be loving attention though ❤❤

The folks at WSAH are truly amazing! They’re helpful, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable, and best of all they really have the animals’ best interests at heart. Their passion and compassion for my pets was always very apparent and, of all the places I’ve taken my cats between moves, I’ve never felt so comfortable that a vet knew what they were doing, and that they were under good hands — even when pandemic guidelines had me staying in the parking lot!

As the anxious and loving catdad to [several] furbabies, this place earned my complete trust and approval!

I’ve had a lovely experience here. All my concerns have been addressed and I’ve never been made to feel bad about opting out of any anything due to personal preference or finances. My cat has felv and Dr.Logothetti and Dr.shuman have worked with her and I’m really happy with the care. The Techs are also super sweet. They have always reassured me about any results I’ve received. I will miss the staff when I leave.

Our dog Aki has been a patient at Westside Animal Hospital several times for different problems and every time the problems were solved, even when a diagnosis was difficult. Dr. Shuman saved Aki’s life when he ate a sock that Dr. Shuman retrieved through endoscopy in his stomach. All staff members have been always nice and supportive, and have always taken care of our needs.
My husband and I have just left California for Italy, and we have brought Aki with us. We had to go through a lot of bureaucracy in order to comply with the US and EU rules about international transport. We received invaluable help from the manager at the clinic, who prepared all the documents that Aki needed. We have been very impressed with the professional and human skills of Dr Shuman and all staff, we are very grateful, and we will never forget them. Thank you!

I've taken my cats to a couple of local clinics over the past six or seven years. But not one since I brought them here for the first time. These folks are incredibly kind and never in a hurry. Always concerned that I understand exactly what is occurring with my cats and very sensitive to my concerns over cost. Never allowing the latter to interfere with treatment and always finding a way to make it work.

The only veterinarian my vet-anxious dog was comfortable with was here, and I miss this place all of the time. I’d have kept him here if I hadn’t moved back to my hometown of Bakersfield. I don’t remember her name, as this was from 2011-2013, but she was wonderful. The peace-of-mind that comes with knowing that a vet is upstairs after hours and checking on the overnight pets was huge for me. This place very much makes you feel like you and your pet are part of their family. Cannot speak high enough praise about this business and everyone who works there. Thank you for making my Indiana Jones feel safe and providing him with the best, compassionate care, Westside Animal Hospital 💙

Really nice staff and they answer emails really fast too which is a bonus. The process was a bit confusing as a new client since they have you stay outside, but after you do it once it's straightforward. They're really honest about pricing. No scams here.

I was recommended to this animal hospital from a friend who is also a cat owner. Even after my first visit, I can tell that this place is absolutely incredible. The staff and doctors are highly knowledgeable, kind, patient, and welcoming. All my questions as a new cat owner were answered. I was provided with great recommendations for flea issues, behavioral training, and the nurses even showed me how to clip my kittens nails! I'm thrilled that my fur babies will continue to be under such great care. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been taking my cat here since I got him two years ago.

Every experience so far has been fantastic. Great vets, friendly staff, good location, easy parking, fair prices… no complaints from me!

The staff was helpful, professional, and kind the whole time. Their COVID precautions are very careful, which I appreciate. I brought in a very skittish cat and he was calmer after the visit than he was going in.

I got an email a couple days ago about a new policy that anybody who yells at the staff gets banned. Can't imagine why someone would want to be so mean to these folks, and I'm glad the management is standing behind their employees.

Dr. David Schuman and Dr. Martinelli are phenomenal. I've never had anybody take such good care of my pets. They completely understand how there are children and members of the family. They explain everything that we need to know and I trust them 100%. they always have time to talk and make sure you are well informed on your decisions. II couldn' find anyone better to take care of my lovely pets. We have been going to them for over 10 years and never had a bad experience. If you want somebody to take care of your pets that you can trust this is the place to go.

Westside Animal Hospital is the best and we won't take our fur kid anywhere else. We drive pretty far to get here and it's always worth the trip. Our large dog had knee surgery and the staff was nothing short of exceptional. Our dog is our baby so we appreciate everything they do. They are extremely compassionate and patient. Thanks guys!

I'm new to this area. My cats were hit with an emergency and I dreaded finding a vet because it is so hard for me to trust anyone. I feel God delivered this vet practice to me. They are all kind and the Drs are amazing and gentle and kind. They didn't talk down to me. I 100% recommend this place. They even dealt with my difficulties in the beginning with grace because I was so upset. Also, please get insurance for your pet. You never know when tragedy will strike.

I have been bringing my cat and dog here for around 5 months now, and the service from Dr. Shuman and staff has been nothing short of amazing. Their COVID protocol is clear, smooth, and easy to follow. Dr. Shuman is patient and empathetic and will guide you to make the best decision for your pets health, but will also go over multiple different treatment options to cater to your financial situation. I am so so thankful for the quality of care both of my pets have received here and would recommend them to anyone in the Santa Cruz area.

Dr. Sheila Locathetti is awesome! She's a top-notch professional with a big gentle heart. She really does care about the animals and the owners. It's evident in her work. I don't go anywhere else!
