This shop has an excellent selection of everything you could need, a capable service center, and a welcoming, chill atmosphere. I only came to get my bike fixed here because my roommate recommended them to me. Had my bike of 3 years repaired for the first time ever by Phil. Super rad guy, gave me a quote and an itemized receipt of what I was paying for in terms of parts and labor. I was having issues with my phone so he even sent the invoice to my email as well. It's October now, and the turnaround was impressive (brought bike on Saturday, picked up on Tuesday), but they advised me it can be longer during the busy months. Riding back from Spokesman Bicycles felt like a dream, smoothest ride on my bike I've ever had, including when I first bought it brand new! Thanks Phil, and thanks Spokesman Bicycles! Totally worth it.

I had a few recent experiences at Spokesman that made me really stoked to keep going back. Matt and his team are good people. The mechanics in the back, sales team, and just about everyone I interacted with in the last 4 visits there was kind, helpful, and made the experience awesome. It really comes down to the service. A friend referred me here after my last bike was stolen and I needed to re-assess security, as it is my only mode of transportation. Everyone I encountered was great. I didn’t catch the name of the first guy who helped me pick the appropriate lock for where I live and park it, budget etc. Then Harry replaced my quick release seat with a bolt. I’m somewhat new to the world of bikes but the shop looked well stocked with anything bike related you might need. I’ll be back for sure. Hopefully not for a lock replacement though! 😂🤦‍♀

I bought two Ibis Ripley back in September as I was looking for those for few months, one large for my husband and one medium for me. I found Spokesman web and called the store to confirm that they actually had the bikes as per the website information. Miles answered all my questions and kept me posted of the bikes shipment as I live in Florida. Both bikes arrived well, we only needed to replace one of the tires valve as it wasn't holding on the air. We algo got a 10% discount on each bike and free shipping. We can't be happier with our bikes.

Had an absolutely awesome experience today at Spokesman. Been shopping around for the Specialized Diverge and the staff, specifically Robert was so helpful! He was very thorough, incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth. Very thankful I made my purchase at Spokesman!

I know of no other industry in which I have so consistently encountered universally horrific customer care. I have MTB raced for many years and always dread needing anything from a bike shop. Spokesman is the antithetical example. I’ve fixed and purchased bikes here and it has been not just the pleasure it should be, but exceptionally impressive.

Wade & Co have been a retail cycling fixture for many years in downtown Santa Cruz. They feature quality bikes & accessories. The staff is consistently welcoming & knowledgeable.

The post-sales experience is remarkable, too. Specifically, the Service team is comprised of experienced & engaged bike mechanics. For example, I recently was experiencing significant gearing problems with my older touring bike that resulted in increasingly disconcerting chain slippage. Harry attentively listened, researched parts availability, and then judiciously engaged in a series of parts replacements -- until we had my old hardware running, once again, like a Swiss timepiece. Personal interest + expertise made all the difference.

Generally the staff has been upbeat, knowledgeable and helpful. I've been quite satisfied with the two repair jobs they've done for my bikes. - A shout out to Jason that works there - About two years ago I brought my bike in for some work on the brakes and mentioned that since I'd gotten a new cassette, shifting wasn't working smoothly in the higher gears. He checked it out and found that the newer (different gear range) cassette hadn't been properly installed from the store where the purchase was made. He got the parts needed to correct that problem and after his work, the bike shifted quite smoothly into all gears. Good Job Jason! Sorry I didn't give credit by name when I initially wrote the review. - I hadn't caught his name. But I did see him today, (12/2/2020) and he was as helpful as ever.

We rented road bikes here while on vacation. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and customer service oriented. While out riding, my husband slashed his tire and Jason from the shop drove a new tire to us and repaired it on the spot. These guys are amazing and their prices are very fair. Would definitely recommend them for any rental or repair needs!

Spokesman is one of the oldest bike shops in Santa Cruz, and deservedly so because their quality of service and selection is so awesome. They can support anybody from casual recreational riders to world class athletes. They give back to the community in many ways and support local races too. Parking can be tricky at times, but it's worth it. Highly recommended.

I drive past five other bike shops to get to Spokesman, and I'm happy to do it. Spokesman recently went way above and beyond expectations for service:

Brought a bike in for an urgent (same-day) damaged part replacement. The guys in the service department didn't have the part in stock but pulled a part from a new bike in inventory so they could get my bike back on the road quickly. Didn't charge extra for the additional labor to pull the part or for rush service. PLUS threw in custom red cable ends to match my bike color scheme (without my asking for it), even on cables that they didn't replace, so it would all match. Absolutely first-class bike shop.

Spokesman bicycle is wonderful. I can't ask for better service and accommodations, they make room for me, not only they was so honest and let me knew that they can fix my problem at no charge because my bicycle doesn't need to change the part at that time. I just buy some parts and I haven't have to go back till now. Highly recommend.

Now, I just got my dream bike, an Ibis Ripmo, from Matt and I'm so stoked.
