Good atmosphere, mostly college age persons there. Besides 10+ pool tables there are darts and ping pong. On the night I was there, they put on a beer pong tournament that really drew in the crowds.
The kitchen stops food service at 10 pm. I can't comment on the food, I never had any.
The bartenders were fast with the drinks and seemed friendly. All the staff seemed to enjoy working there.

Wings have and still remain a staple here in an area that offers no diversity in wings. As a place that remains a staple in Downtown Santa Cruz nightlife, it still remains a go to place for wings.

They aren't for hot heads but if you want a good crispy wing for a decent price. They have it. A Sriracha forward sauce that is absolutely delicious. For the price, the portion is worth the cost alone. Tawne and Scott delivered incredible service.

Has and will always be a must stop spot for fun and wings.

Great staff. Tasty food and some good beers on tap. Nine pool tables, they charge hourly not per game. Ping pong tournaments on Thursday night. Only bar in Santa Cruz city with a pong table that I am aware of. Gets crowded for pong on Friday/Saturday nights. Good patrons as well.

If you don't feel like home when you walk in the staff definitely will change that. The drinks are priced well and the wings.... oh man the wings are to die for!

Great food! Great service! Great music! The table we played pool on was fast. We had a great tacos and a great time. We definitely will come visit again.

Love this bar! The entire staff is super friendly and on their game. I've always gotten drink made well and quickly even when busy. The atmosphere is open and casual. It's a huge open floor plan with pool tables and plenty of seating to hangout with a few friends. The food is also off the hook, especially for being late night! I recommend the wings, they come in a variety of flavors, but my personal favorite is the lemon pepper. Always a great time when you end up at surf City!

This is my favorite bar to go to in Santa Cruz hands down!! The ambiance, the pool, the drinks, EVERYTHING. The manager Tawni is the MOST kind, welcoming, sweet, hardworking human and she is seriously the cherry on the top of this place! I see the effort she puts into billards and it shines through everyday! Absolutely love this place 😊

Surf City is a special place. With all the small businesses closing during thr pandemic cool places to grab a drink and a bite are becoming more rare. Surf City has a wide variety of entertainment featuring a ping pong table, a photo booth, pinball machines and over ten pool tables, not to mention a vinyl collection of killer records, playing all night. The neighborhood staff is friendly and attentive. The bar is filled with a plethora of unique beers, ciders and frozen spirits and liquors. The food is the hidden gem. From lemon pepper chicken wings to soft shell crab sandwiches to the best jucy Lucy I've had, the mouth-watering food will make you feel right at home. The food is cooked by an ultra-talented chef that clearly puts love into her food. Places with soul are becoming harder to find and Surf City brings people together. Take the negative comments with a grain of salt. Some people's expectations are hard to meet, and sometimes are never met. Go check out Surf City! You'll be glad you did.

The pool tables shuffle board and dart boards are in great shape. They also have pong tournaments .

This is the best pool hall I’ve ever been to! Lots of space and modern tables. Plus it’s a relaxed environment with games and good drinks.

Go play pool and have some drinks here. I definitely recommend this all-in-one place and will always return. Their restrooms are always clean. They definitely need more staff because it's always packed, but their food is totally worth it. If you like buffalo wings, go for the ones called "kinda effin hot". They're actually spicy and they taste great. The actual wings aren't so meaty for some reason, but they're extremely addictive! Decent amount of fries in their juicy delicious burger specials. Try their extremely tasty veggie burger too. I don't usually like veggie burgers, but I really loved theirs. Surprisingly, they even have great tasting tacos too with chipotle mayo. All they need is a tequila taco night.

We had fun having a few drinks, eating one of the best truffle grilled cheese sandwiches and ppl watching. Want to thank the staff and manager for their courtesy and care. Look forward to returning with friends.

Amazing drinks, food, and quality pool tables. Wonderful place if you want to have tournaments or just go out and have fun with some friends. They have shuffleboard, darts, ping pong, and full size pool tables. Really busy on the weekends after 9 pm.

The recent change in ownership / management has been great! All staff is friendly, the tables are reasonably priced, and the snacks are great. They also have improved their tap list. Absolutely recommended as both a bar and a pool hall.

Great place to hang in downtown. Really good food small menu but great food. Large bar selection! 10+ pool tables. It looks small from downtown stairs but it's tall cellings and really big space.

Good vibes from the bartenders and well priced drinks :) I always have a great time here, it's my favorite downtown hang out! The only recommendation I could have is that I wish they sold pitchers of beer.

Came in with a few friends because we had a SERIOUS case of "The Mondays" and needed that stiff drink cure.

Zach was behind the bar and poured us an AMAZING long Island that seemd to make all of our worries melt away.

We played a few games of ping pong and even joined up with a cool cat named "Jewel" for a random stranger game of pool.

Our buddy tried the tacos. He said they were super delicious and that he felt like it was a bargain for the price!

Surf City Billiards has a fun atmosphere, great food, stiff drinks, and friendly staff!
