Szechwan House

Our "go to" restaurant when we're in Benicia, food and service is always great. For Ash Wednesday, and Lent in general, we get the Walnut Prawns, Prawns with Mixed Vegetables, Tofu Chow Fun, and Fried Rice. We got some free tea while we waited for our Take Out order. For Lunar New Year gifts, we got some free extra fortune cookies, lucky candies, and Lucky Red Envelopes for our grandkids! Thank you Cindy.

We have been wondering about this place for a while. To be perfectly honest i was a little skeptical after reading a couple reviews, but my wife convinced me to try it and im glad she did. The food was great, plentiful, and very reasonbly priced. We went for the lunch special and i tried the spicy shrimp with chow mein, it was the BOMB. The wifey tried the fried bean curd/tofu which she loved. You also get soup, salad, and some fried won tons. This place is a hidden gem, we will definetely be going back :)

I’ve eaten here my whole life growing up and it will forever be my favorite Chinese restaurant. I’m living out of state now and I have a cold and all I can think about is their delicious hot and sour soup. I have never had it anywhere else that I liked better or even close to as much. Lots of other great dishes here but right now all I can think about is that hot and sour soup 🤤

We come back to this place for their Lemon Chicken. It’s superb. We also love their chow mien, fried rice, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and more.

Very traditional Chinese Food Restaurant, with great service, great for families.

Very delicious food, one of the best Chinese won tons, orange chicken, chow mein and string breans and shrimp I've had. Very good customer service too.

Don’t know if we were really hungry or that this food is that good, will have to try it again to verify. We had orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp and chicken chow mein and bbq pork clay pot. All amazing

I picked up lunch for my sons today and had a great experience. The service was promt and the food was hot and ready to go. Didn't taste like it was sitting out or smell that way either. I am an irregular customer because I like to cook at home. But when it's time to get Chinese take out, this is the only place I order from. From their won ton soup, to their Chow mein. Everything hits the comfort food spot from here. Worth every penny.

This is the dragon of Solano county. If you eat Panda Express and think that is real Chinese food, bless your heart. You have have no clue about food.

This place truggled a lot during Covid. They are coming back with such quality after they fell off to survive. I cannot even describe or emphasize how good the food is as of tonight. I am so glad they survived. There is nothing like them left. I have been trying to convince them to let me help them create a dim sum menu.

This is the best Chinese in solano county. Fight me.

I usually get the lunch specials, the portions are huge! All the foods are just good, very consistent. If I was to make a suggestion, the hot n sour soup is a must here, usually comes with the lunch special.

I have never had a bad meal here. It is always delicious and ready when I come to pick up. The owners and staff are very friendly and efficient. They [ the food too! ] are the reason I drive out of my way to eat there. I highly recommend them.

We were enjoying a walk around Benecia today and stopped in to pick up lunch to go. We took it over to the Capitol Park picnic benches. The food was really great. Hot, fresh, not salty. We just got shrimp chow mein and mixed vegetables and were thoroughly happy with the quality and freshness of both dishes. Nice array of veggies in the mixed vegetables and the chow mein was really clean and fresh. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Ordering was easy and pleasant too.

Great service here and such a friendly staff. Food is perfect and huge serving sizes so you can have take home if you can't finish it all. They will work with you if you are Vegan or have gluten free allergies. Not bad on prices at all. Worth the money.

During pandemic, the pickup service is a definite 5 stars. The food was great and the fortune cookies were in abundance. They got the order exactly right and got it to me right at scheduled pickup time. So, trot to hot-food-to-go.
Later, eat in dining area, so impressive. They also have an overflow area that is so contrasting (you feel like it's the 1950's on that side).

I like the buffet lunch special (it's all you can eat)...there's a nice variety to choose from, including fried rice or pork chow mien, spring rolls and chicken wings and pot stickers and fried wonton and then about 8 different entrees from pork, beef and even shrimp. They're good about keeping the food fresh when something runs out they fill it quickly.

This place is the best Chinese food in Benicia. I have been coming since I was a little kid, and the food has always remained just as amazing. Same ownership since opening, this place is a classic. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I recommend the general tsao crispy chicken. I'm sure you will enjoy this gem too.

I love to come here for my sizzling rice soup. Last night I came in later than usual and even though they were wrapping up they insisted it was okay to stay & they served with the same nice hospitality & quick service. I appreciated it alot! Btw they work hard all day, its nice to push your chairs in and tidy a bit before leaving (I do).

Three generations of my family have been eating here since the 90s. Great people own the place and the szechuan beef or any meat with the szechuan sauce is delicious. Their chow mein is great. One of my favorite places to eat.

My family has been coming to this wonderful little jewel in Benicia for years. They have great classic Chinese food and it's always consistent and the family is very friendly. No matter how far I move to when I'm close to Benicia I will always stop to eat at Szechwan house.
