In Stitches

Have you ever discovered a place filled with people that make you feel included and wonderfully talented? I had never experienced a place filled with the warmest people in my life. My quilting hobby has always been something I've enjoyed alone because I'd never met others who enjoy it, until I found In Stitches. Colleen is the most outgoing, generous, sweetest person I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is also so fun to be around! The shop is beautiful, the employees are so nice and helpful, and everyone is incredibly supportive and encouraging. I feel so grateful to have met this special group of people.

The group at In Stiches did an absolutely beautiful job finishing a quilt that was very special to me. My mother-law had an unfinished quilt before she passed and I had put it away and about 5 yrs later I found it and wanted to give it as a gift to my husband. They finished it for me and my husband was surprised and grateful to have an heirloom from his mother. Thank you for the care and work from your team. It was greatly appreciated.

This is a well-stocked, well-organized quilt shop with friendly, helpful staff and loads of creative inspiration. I stop every time I am driving through Dixon.

In Stitches is lovely quilt and sewing shop. Very friendly and helpful staff! They have a great assortment of fabric, quilting supplies and sewing supplies. They also offer great classes! With really great teachers! It’s great store to visit, to learn about quilting, embroidering, and sewing. As well as shop!

I do not live in CA, but this lovely store is always a must-stop when I'm traveling in the area. I've been there many times. Besides having an incredible choice of fabrics and other goodies, they have a great selection of kits. On a recent trip, I bought another kit from them but did not open it until I was back in my home state. To my surprise, some of the fabric was missing! I had never had that happen before from any kit. However, after contacting them and explaining the situation, they immediately rectified the situation and even sent me more fabric than necessary. Their communication was awesome and their generosity was unexpected and completely appreciated. They will always have my business when I'm driving through the area and I highly recommend them to all fabric loving people!

In Stitches is far and above the best sewing/quilting store in the Yolo/Solano County area. They offer a wide array of classes for all skill levels at extremely reasonable and fair prices. The entire staff are knowledgeable and will take as much time as needed to make sure you are comfortable with your purchases. If you haven't visited this shop you are truly missing out.

I love this shop!!! Wonderful friendly knowledgeable staff!! Purchased a sewing machine here recently and had a great experience. No high pressure sales here. I brought in different fabrics to test drive the 3 machines I was considering and was able to spend time going through all the features of each machine to make my decision. Love love love my sewing machine! Nice selection of fabrics, notions and thread too. Will be buying all of my machines and supplies at this store!

In the mid 2000 my husband bought me a combo sewing machine/machine embroidery from Abs as a Christmas gift. Intimidated by the machine I only used it for straight line stitching. In 2016 I contacted Abs and asked for a lesson. Amazing that after 10 years they were happy to help. I started taking classes, attending their events and am no longer intimidated.
Colleen is a fantastic instructor who wants to share her knowledge to inspire your creativity and ensure project success. The shop is welcoming, friendly and helpful.

I absolutely love this store the staff and owner are friendly and quick to help. I bought my first sewing machine from Julian in December 2002. He was great to do business with then and has only gotten better. I moved out of the area and wanted to give my local dealer the chance to have my business because I believe in buying local when ever you can. I was less than satisfied with that dealer and he was out of business in a year. So back to ABS I went. It is just over an hour but worth the drive! I have since purchased several more machines. I have taken many classes from Colleen. She is a great teacher and always ready to help. She is quick to make things right when ever there is a mixup for any reason. Her classes are always an amazing value and the kicker is if you aren't happy she will refund your money. I have enjoyed many sewing classes at "In Stitches" and the ladies I have met through this store have become friends. Every trip to this store (Vacaville or Dixon) I have been warmly greeted and usually by name which can be a bit embarrassing when I don't always remember their names! These ladies here are the best of the best. Julian and Zach know their stuff when it comes to the machines that they sell. They have my business and yes I am a loyal customer because they are worth being loyal to.

The store is much bigger than it looks with a great selection of products. I went to buy a gift for my sister who is just starting a new passion of quilting. Colleen was referred by a friend and she was so friendly and helpful. She kept close to the budget I had in mind. Very friendly staff and a great shopping experience.

Amazing selection and very friendly staff! They were so patient with me and I'd definitely go back rather than the other nearby "big name" fabric store.

I dont know who would be so negative towards a sewing machine store, but their reviews are clearly not warranted. This is a great store! It's a fantastic place to buy sewing machines, equipment, supplies, fabric, thread... everything. And the owner HELPS you! Unlike some of our other big box craft stores. This is also a great place for education! Everyone is so knowledgeable on their craft.

I love this place. They offer classes for sewing and quilting as well as embroidery. They sell various sewing machines. For the classes, they have some machines you can use during classes. When you have questions about your project, the staff are all highly qualified to answer sewing, quilting and embroidery.

Need lessons on how to care for your machines or learn how to actually sew with them, that’s offered too.

Now let’s talk long arm machines! I had a dozen quilt tops that needed to be quilted. You take a certification class and then off you go. They have 3 machines and a qualified long armer to help you finish you projects. I’ve finished 6 quilts so far.

Thread, oh my goodness, great selection and supplies to embroidery. And they have a nice selection of fun fabrics as well as the extra wide fabric for backing.

During this time when we all need to support our local businesses now more than ever, shame on these spammers for trying to hurt someone's business. People really have no shame. I've passed by this shop so many times and can't wait to visit when the pandemic improves. Until then, I'm going to give 5 stars just to help balance out the bogus reviews.

Absolutly fantastic people running this store, could not be nicer or more helpful. Im not sure what these negative reviews are about, seems like some kind of spam. Ive had nothing but excellent experiences with this store, and when quarentine is over Id like to take some quilting classes!!

Very nice place for sewing needs. I needed to find a place to get my machine tuned up. I enjoyed the environment and the employees who were kind and helpful.

Happily surprised with the fabrics. Staff were welcoming and helpful. So glad I stopped in! I'll definitely be stopping in again soon.

If you want to learn how to embroider, long arm, use a serger, scan and cut, buy a machine buy supplies; this is the place to be. Love this store, close to home, super friendly people, soooo many great classes.

I didn't mean to give any stars because I've never been in store. I just wanted to make a comment about the SIX people who gave one star reviews that ALL came in two weeks ago. Coincidence? I doubt it. I think the one person with grudge sent all six reviews or had family and friends do it.

they know their stuff when it comes to embroidery! The new store is large, open, organized and clean. You’ll for sure find something you can’t live without 😊
