Nugget Markets

We're fortunate to have not one, but two Nugget Markets in Davis. We call them 'Big Nugget' and 'Little Nugget' and shop both stores regularly.

They have everything the serious gourmet requires, from butcher to fish monger, green grocer, deli, cheese monger, wine and spirits, flowers, and last but certainly not least, bakery.

Nugget stores are exceptionally clean, thoughtfully designed and very attractive architecturally. We like the fact that they are a local business - not a Wall Street corporation.

The people who work at both Nuggets are friendly and helpful. They make it easy to make Nugget our #1 shopping destination.

We got two sandwiches today. The Jack London was turkey, bacon, and avocado. It was quite tasty and the bread was excellent. The Texas Clucker sandwich was very good. The restrooms were clean and the staff was helpful.

Nuggets is a upper scale grocery store compared to Safeway. However, there are some gems you can find at Nugget. The meats are almost always or most of the time cheaper than Safeway but definitely higher quality. My favorite aspects of Nuggets are that they carry a lot of international items and have a lot of different variety of the same item. They had like 6 variations of brioche buns! The short ribs here are delicious.

Shout out to Kathryn in the bakery department! I asked for a shark themed birthday cake and cupcakes, but could not find examples for the design I was looking for. So, she took notes from our conversations and provided ideas to contribute to the creativity of this order. Everything was beautiful and so impressive! Definitely would recommend to others.

Lots of great bulk items. Online prices would be nice, as would a web map of the exact location of each item.

Amazing store and shopping experience. Love the fresh food options! I enjoy riding my bike here and sitting at the tables out front. Staff so friendly.

Nugget was very gracious. The store director eviewed a video at check out and noted that a container was on the edge of the scale...so they offered a gift certificate to offset the over charges of my veggies. This is the customer service that keeps me loyal to Nugget. I also appreciate the friendly, helpful staff.

Great store with a great selection! Cheeses, wines, meats, fruit, vegetables, plus all the standard canned and boxed goods, and some good ethnic options as well. Excellent baked goods - the Dutch Crunch is great with their soups. The deli always has a nice selection as well.

Wonderful experience here! Price is a lot more expensive than Safeway/Savemart so it's a little hard to shop here as a college student, but the quality is amazing. I didn't catch his name but the employee who orders the candy is a very nice gentleman. This place also has a wonderful vegetarian section which my girlfriend enjoys.

A good place for a casual meal. Excellent bakery. Deli, takeout counters. Also great coffee. You can get some great high quality food and beverages and there is very nice seating outside. Their grocery are too notch.

I love shopping here. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They have lots of organic produce and carry hard-to-find brands of specialty foods.

Prices are a little higher, but the store is better maintained and nicer than a cheaper supermarket. Parking is free and ample.
