Davis Food Co-op

A great locally owned grocery store in Davis. The store is on the smaller side but still has all the departments including produce, meat, seafood, deli, frozen and bulk ingredients. They also have a great beer selection, a grab-and-go counter and made to order sandwiches. The bulk selection is great because you can get exactly the quantity you need of just about any dry food. This is a co-op and is supported by membership however one does NOT need to be a member to shop here.

Great place to shop for quality produce. They even carry beef heart and liver which is a big plus for me

Had one of their deli sandwiches, amazing, one of the best tasting sandwiches ever. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, reasonably priced.

Relaxed atmosphere, locally grown/sourced produce and goods, sandwich and coffee shop (including espresso drinks). Outdoor seating. Delicious, charming, must-see.

Great place to shop. Their produce department is beautiful. You can see the regularly clean their produce bins. Great cheese couter, too. Lots of choices. Perfect place to find cheeses for your next party.

Even if the Co-op weren't a consistent source of reasonably-priced, perfect, organic avocados and the world's most incredible chai, hand-made from fresh ginger root and healing spices, I'd still be addicted to their craft beer selection and bulk chocolate malt balls (so chocolatey). Some people go crazy for the Co-op's chocolate-peanut butter grinder (also organic), or their in-house marinated mozzarella, or that smoked tri tip they sell out of by 6pm every Thursday night... but I'm a sucker for those endless bins of bulk snacks and the fresh surprises the beer and wine staff keep bringing to their shelves. The friendly employees, quirky events and the store's deep commitment to the sustainability of Davis is all just icing. Love the Davis Food Co-op.

Wonderful meat and seafood selections. Always fresh!

This review is for Mermaid Sushi. We ordered the 26 piece platter and the 12 piece nuclear. Everything was amazing :D The presentation was beautiful, as you can see in the picture from right after we picked it up. The sushi was delicious, great nigri fish selection and tasty cut rolls. My fiance doesn't like crab much but she still loved the California rolls! The nigri was my highlight, but nigri is my fav so I'm biased. The chefs making it were very nice and even asked for our favorite colors when decorating with flowers and herbs!

Local food co-op, with a large selection of food and other products. Excellent for bulk buying of spices, dried fruits, nuts and tea and coffee. Also has a large selection of vegan items, as well as full service butcher with meat, poultry and fish

The Coop, very unsuspectingly, has the best wine section in Davis by far. It outdoes many wine shops in the region (I’m including Sacramento, Oakland, and San Francisco… and Napa). The selection is varied, including both classic old and new world wines as well as unique and fun hard-to-find producers from around the world. The prices are more than fair. The quality, regardless of grape variety or region, is always high. I started coming to the Coop after a friend recommended their wine section, and it is the main reason I return (even for groceries when I’m not buying wine). Thanks what what y’all do. It’s so nice to have in Davis.

You can find pretty much everything with high quality there. The staff are super kind, and helpful!

One of my favorite places to come relax and get some groceries. There's a nice eating area outside and delicious snacks.

Lots of good quality produce and other items, good variety, yummy sandwiches, good cookies.

The wine selection is the best in Davis hands-down! I always go here when I need a good bottle to go with whatever I’m cooking, for my wine tasting group, or for a dinner party gift. Sterling is super helpful and the wine is delicious and more unique than any other spot in town. If you’re looking for old faithful, or something to expand your horizons, buy your wine here!! We don’t have a dedicated wine shop in davis, and the wine selection at the coop more than fills the void. He has an eye to support great davis grads and excellent domestic and international producers. Highly recommend.

I was well pleased with my shopping experience here from the outside inward. Upon entering the store, there's a piano that anyone can help themselves to incline others with their gift. The entrance is well organized and clean. The store is clean and the prices are reasonable as well, especially for being in California. If I visit Davis again, I will most definitely shop here.
