Black Bear Diner Davis

This place is popular on Saturday mornings. The wait wasn't too bad, about 10 minutes. They have the best bacon I've ever tasted! I always get the "little less" breakfast: egg scrambled, bacon, biscuit (which is HUGE) and fruit (which was fresh and tasty). Their iced tea is also good. The manager was very friendly as well as the server.

I tried their Eggs Benedict for the first time and it was delicious. Try it if you like semi boiled eggs and ham!

We had a great experience eating here in the afternoon! Very friendly, attentive service staff. I got the chicken fried steak from the dinner "less" section but it was still a filling meal. The items from the normal menu were of a bigger portion size, especially the biscuits which were massive. Quite worth the price for sit-down service. Don't be daunted by the sizable menu, look out for recommended items and staff are more than willing to share their suggestions. Everyone was wearing masks and the booths/seats are spread out. Check out this place for a family-friendly meal and classic American fare!

Food is very good, large portions as well. I was waiting on waiter to refill my coffee but that never happened until when I was about to leave and the waiter offered to put my refill in a to-go cup for me. That was nice, and I had coffee for the whole afternoon. Great food, great ambience and coffee to go, definitely coming back!!

We got our food very quickly and it was exactly as described in the menu. I was very happy with the country fried steak omelette that I ordered.

I love this place!!!! all the little bear things are the cutest. the food is really good too but honestly I'd go again even if it wasn't, the atmosphere is just that good. 🐻 ♥

This place is always delicious at every location. This was my first visit here. I will be back one day. Service was spectacular.

This is definitely one of the best places in Davis for really any time of the day. Great breakfast, good dinner, and tasty dessert all at a realistic price for proportion. I have yet to have a negative experience and have been upwards of 10 times thus far and will be going back. The staff is friendly and quick with orders. The restaurant is clean and has a positive environment. This is a great location for causal dates or to eat after a busy day. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place with good American food.

Such a good, homey place. Feels like I'm at lake Tahoe but in a restaurant or a log cabin. Large food portions, loved the mimosas! Awesome staff. Love this place.

Great food. Really loved the Eggs Benedict. (A little pricey for breakfast, tho...) their Servers definitely need some coaching. Pay attention to what customers need...(empty coffee cups are sad coffee cups & when the plates are half empty and the credit card is on the table= bring boxes and the ✔, please.) Other than
"Service needs improvement"; this place is a great breakfast/brunch choice!!

You will not come away from here hungry. Most of the menu available all day. Heavily bear-themed and cozy.

What is not to love about the Black Bear Diner?! The Blackened Pesto Salmon is mouthwatering delicious & a go to fav of mine. But! The marinated grilled chicken taco salad is fresh, delicious & full of many delicious flavors. I dropped in on my way home to Sac from the Bay area. Never disappointed! The service was on spot with Helaina. She was attentive & brought a smile to my table, which is greatly appreciated after a tough day at work. I love the atmosphere of this iconic Diner & I always bring their famous newspaper menu home to inspire my next visit! To the Chefs!- my hats off to you all. Super job. I can only finish half this huge salad which means I get to enjoy it twice! P.s. if you're considering the homemade bacon ranch- don't think it over too long! It's utterly delicious. Five stars all around.

Waitress was friendly and the food was fantastic. I got the California benidict which was delish and amazing. My daughter got the breakfast sandwich which I tried a bite of and it was really good too!

Love, love, love this place! Be sure to come hungry. They’re portions are large. You definitely get what you pay for regarding quality and quantity. The servers are friendly and attentive. The Black Bear hot sauces were so good I had to take one home with me!
