I needed to have my car smog-checked and decided to take it to the closest place—Golden Gear. Everything about the experience was first rate. Easy to make a phone appointment; checked in quickly and on time; car was ready at the time promised. The person who took care of me was friendly and careful. All good!

Chip and staff were very professional and helpful. He explained the planned service and included an estimate of cost. Upon completion of the oil change and tire rotation they noticed a knot in the sidewall of one of my tires. He recommended at my request two tire dealers. Excellent service! I highly recommend them!

Glad to have found golden gear. I first went in for a smog on one of my vehicles and Alex squeezed me in, even though an appt is preferable. Then I decided to bring my older truck in for some repairs (ac was out, brake issues, engine light)—all findings and costs were explained to me clearly by Chip. My truck was ready in the estimated time frame I was provided. Great to have a local trustworthy shop.

Everyone was very nice, competent, accommodating and responsive. It was a simple oil change and check in for my first service - so I have little to say about more complex jobs. I'll certainly return to Golden Gear Automotive in the future!

I had a concern about the steering on the family Acura MDX. Chip, Alex and team went above and beyond to assess the safety of our car. Their expert diagnostic was very comprehensive and the prices very fair. Sebastopol is lucky to have Alex and team providing excellent service in our community.

Like a Dr appointment they tell you about all that is happening with you(your car) and go over the most important, pressing issues. You could have them fix it all and keep your car always at 100% or listen to what they think needs to be fixed now. Very transparent and genuine people.

Online appointment was easy to set up. It was my first To visit for smog check they completed the process in shorter time than I expected. Excellent experience.

I've been getting good work done by GG for years now, in a town where not many services are left. They are honest and do great work.

I have only gone to Golden Gear several times, and have been treated only with professionalism and courtesy. My daughter, on the other hand, has been there many times with her old Camry. She really likes GG.

The Golden Gear technician was available to come to my home, which is fairly close to their garage, to pick up my car, perform the smog service and bring the car back. No charge! This saved me a huge headache to get this smog service done promptly!

Amazing service at Golden Gear and highly recommended! As a woman, I felt totally respected and like they assumed I was competent, even when I had to ask questions about certain things. They fixed my original problem and when they found another issue they actually let me know how I could handle it on my own outside the shop, which was awesome because it saved me several hundred dollars. The great communication, timely service, and honest work were all highly appreciated and are why I would 100% go back there and recommend them to anyone needing car service!

Had an oil change which seems to be going up in price every year, but I go to Golden Gear for all my maintenance and repairs because they are thorough and alert me to any other issues which I wouldn't know about otherwise. They are user friendly and I know my car will be taken well care of.

I have used Golden Gear several times to service our Prius. I appreciate their honesty. They do provide honest assessments of costs for service along with setting the proper expectations of time and/or value of that service. I recommend them.
