Guardian Ad Litem

Kacy puts the child first. She doesn't just look at allegations, she looks also at mental health, police records, substance abuse and corroborative evidence. Gender, ethnicity and income dont matter to her. She's also not afraid to go against wishes of both parties, when determining safety and well being of the child. I highly recommend.

I'm very appreciative to Miss Borlik for everything she did to stand up for what's in the best interests of my children at the protective order hearing.

Bud Powell, was negligent on my case. I was abused in the legal system and Bud Powell did not help the case. I had finished therapy and Bud was negligent into submitting that to the judge which extended time of supervision. Bud would would show empathy on behalf of myself, a mother and her children being away (and this was also a really low burden, DCFS dropped the case because I broke down once due to the trauma of being married to a pathological lying spouse who also had an emotional affair with an old girlfriend), yet Bud wasn’t a voice for my children like he should have been, and would twist information just as bad as my exes family would. He then claimed to the judge, “I don’t like how the mother talks to me.” How else do you expect a mother to talk to you when someone is negligent and offers manipulative empathy in the legal system to control a false narrative. Don’t use him. It’s not worth it.

Kacy Crandall does not truly represent the best interest of your kids as a guardian ad litem. Good luck if she is the guardian ad litem representing your kiddos especially if you’re a black parent. Forget about DCFS dismissing the case, she’ll go right against them to get what she wants. The judge will be on her side anyways since the judge (judge Bartholomew) used to be a guardian ad litem himself and trusts her with everything she says. She is a liar, a vile woman that will stop at nothing to take your kids away from you. She will manipulate your kids to get what she wants to hear from them. She will twist the words out of your mouth and your kids mouth just to make her case looks appealing to the court. If you’re a foreigner of color with a heavy accent, your case is already lost. She’ll give you one look, then she will perceive you as a criminal solely based of your ethnic background. Being someone of color is enough for her to find you an abusive angry mother since she perceives all black women as angry women. She brings up her lies in such a convincing manner that will make any innocent person look guilty right on the spot. She is not culturally rounded. She does not do enough research and investigation…Once you’re black you’re already perceived as guilty in her book. She does not look at the whole picture before condemning you. Being black alone is all the info she needs to place you in the category of criminals. Good luck losing your kids by having her on your case in the middle of this pandemic black folks! I don’t even understand why the state hired this woman! She has zero integrity and she won’t represent your kids well. She seems to have one goal, to remove black parents in their kid’s lives…

They have a tendency to be manipulated, or do not care and take bias or the side of the neglecting, abusive side. You should be concerned if you or your kids have to rely on them. I agree with the sentiment that they are not qualified.
