Taqueria Jarro Viejo

My first time getting food here, I ordered the fajitas with chicken shrimp and steak and it was delicious! Inside is like a real, authentic Mexican restaurant and the patio area is really nice too. I am very impressed and so far I'd recommend them as a go-to place for Mexican food in Oakdale.

The food was great! The chips and salsa was amazing! The service was relatively slow and the waiters were confused when distributing orders.

Chilaquiles rojo complete with beans and rice was exactly was I needed and wanted for breakfast. They are open a little earlier than other spots in town. Not too saucy but not dry, the sauce combined with the eggs had the right amount of heat and chili.

Prices are reasonable #1 with inflation. Food is delicious even my wife enjoyed it. She said this is the best Mexican in Oakdale and I have to Agree. Please support this business.

Food was pretty good. Especially the shrimp fajitas. They come with a side plate of pork beans,lots of rice and salad.. the wait is a little lengthy but its all done fresh so its understandable but worth the wait. This place was booming today..

Excellent carnitas burrito bowls ~ so delicious and a healthy dish! We also enjoyed the nice staff, and the clean and comfortable environment! We will be back!

Food was good and staff was friendly. I would recommend to anyone in the area give it a try. The carnitas are delicious. Looking forward to having the food again.

This is a hidden gem — the staff are so warm and hospitable, the food is simple yet scrumptious, and they have a delicious and generous self-help salsa bar. Every meal comes with a side of chips, and my shrimp fajita bowl was exactly what I needed on the long drive to mammoth lakes (the peppers were cooked perfectly!) <3 Big plus: the bathroom was super clean & had a cute picture of a mountain landscape 😚

So dang good! Plus the lady serving us was so nice and helpful. We are heading to Yosemite and couldn’t have planned a better place to stop for lunch. Tacos were the best!

We freaking love this place. Their breakfast burritos are dynamite. We typically just get the taco salad with grilled chicken. It's delicious. Everytime. Consistency is key and they are definitely consistent. So happy to have them in town!

Our favorite restaurant to stop at on the way home from Yosemite! This family owned restaurant is fast, delicious, and kind. The portion sizes are large, and the service is excellent. Every trip to the mountains is complete with a stop at Jarro Viejo.

Totally legit. Amazing pastor, classic Mexican breakfasts like huevos rancheros. Menudo on the weekends if you are into that. Open Sunday! Can’t wait to come back. Salsa bar!

Great food and service...

Tasty food prepared with care. Try the fish tacos! They take pride in their humble restaurant and care that you enjoy your meal. There was friendly banter overheard from the kitchen. This is a happy place.

I stopped by on my way to pinecrest camping site. I had a fish taco and a tripa taco. Both were amazing delicious - love to revisit!!

The veggie burrito was a bit bland, but my parents enjoyed the carnitas burrito and they said it was really good. The food here is very cheap, and the portions are huge. The 2 burritos, chips, and salsa only cost us $19 total including the tips.

Amazing Mexican food! Service was great and fast. Food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back when I visit this area of California.

Great friendly service and family atmosphere. Chile relleno burrito was great but Al pastor quesadilla was even better.

Why 5 star? Good tasty fresh food. Vegetarian options. Veg fajita and taco salad was awesome. Do not forget to ask for spicy sauce and pico de gallo (extra but worth it). Good price. Friendly service. Local small business. Clean place and clean bathroom.
