Performance Automotive

On my way to work in the morning of 2/3/20 I started to notice something was not right with my car, as I was getting off the freeway my tire blew. I slow down right away and roll my way to the closed shop I could find. luckily Performance Automotive, I believe the owner Walt Van was the one who helped me, letting me borrow a jack and a impact gun to remove the flat and install my spare! Thank you so much Performance Automotive for your very kind gesture this morning!

I was buying a used car remotely and called Performance Automotive to do the pre-purchase inspection. His price was reasonable, and he sounded very knowledgeable. The dealer dropped off the car the next day, and Walt called me less than an hour later. He told me not to buy the car under any circumstances, and gave me a list of problems with it to justify the decision. He was also very polite and understanding when the dealer did not pick up the car quickly enough and needed to be reminded.

Walt is extremely professional, and a nice guy, too. He said that since he figured out the answer for me after a very short test drive and barely looking at it, without going through the full inspection, he didn't even charge me. Wow! I insisted on paying, at least something, and he did not want to take payment. He was happy to help, and he even offered I can call him for advice during my used car search, even if the car I find is nowhere near his shop. Wow again!

If only all auto mechanics were as trustworthy and professional as Performance Automotive!

We have been taking our many family cars and trucks to Walt for years. We feel that he gives us an honest assessment of what our vehicle needs and prices the work fairly. Our vehicles are returned to us in a timely manner, clean, and, most importantly, working again! He and his staff are always friendly and more than happy to advise us on all things auto.

My family has been taking our cars to Walt for somewhere around 15 years. If I could give this shop a 10-star review, that is what I would give it. I have so many positive experiences with them that they would not fit into a single review. These are the kind of people you want working on your car. You will never be over-charged for your repairs. They will not recommend repairs that you don't need or that would be lost in the value of your car. They are so respectful and considerate of the needs of their clients and treat their clients' cars the way they would want their own treated. I completely trust Walt with all of my repairs and will not take my car anywhere else. I recommend Performance Automotive to everyone. Since taking our cars to them (both new and old with varying degrees of wear) we have had almost zero breakdowns and absolutely zero catastrphes. My car is 21 years old and has nearly 300,000 miles on it and it is almost as reliable as a new car because Walt fixes it right every single time. That saves me a lot of money! My girlfriend's 22-year-old truck (with almost 400,000 miles) broke down and we had it towed straight to his shop and the service was so over and above in speed, quality, and price that she is already won over for life. If you ever need car repairs, go to Performance Automotive. You will not be disappointed.

They are the best! I won't let anyone else touch my truck since I found them almost 6 years ago. I don't know how I lived without them! They have gone above and beyond the the call of duty more times than I can count. Walt knows his stuff! He won't waste your time or money, and when he fixes something it's done right!

Highly recommend Performance Automotive. We are a school district with a fleet of buses. This is the only shop we could find that had the equipment and the skill to do the recall work on our propane buses. Everyone we dealt with throughout the repairs were polite and professional. After being recommended by a buddy Thats been going here for a long time (so i could get my headers done, which most shops wont even try due to the hassle), i learned these guys only do things one way, the right way. Walt is awesome and knows his stuff. These guys are quick, professional, and keep you updated. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone in the Modesto area who wants something done the right way.

The review post that says "No need to pay a liar twice for the original work to be" was mine I would like to remove it but I'm not able to. The owner and I have worked things out which is much appreciated.

I have been coming here and having my vehicles worked on for 15 years or more. Walt has never done me wrong and has done an excellent job at fixing what ever needed fixing, Great shop.

Friendly people they know their stuff.
They'll go over your car check everything out and tell you what's really wrong not like some car dealers that I've been to.

They care. Professional. They know their stuff and talk you through everything you need to know. My Jeep is much happier.
