I stumbled upon this place while I was in town for work. Vintage decor, decent cigar selection, quaint bar, and warm/welcoming staff...great place for a quiet post-work stick or late-night refuge(THEY CLOSE AT 2AM!!!) Will be back when I'm in town again.

Very comfortable and relaxing business to enjoy a cigar and drink. Has a small bar with comfortable seats . Bartenders are easy-going and engaging should you choose to chat with someone . Left for Chicago 16 years ago and was so relieved to find them still here and just as comfortable a place too unwind as ever . We'll mannered puppers allowed

Has a local feel although as an out-of-towner everyone was very friendly to me. Very good cigar selection and a decent whiskey selection. Good air circulation. This is the best cigar bar I have ever been to. Every town should have a laid back place like this to relax after work

Been a while since I’ve been there but I used to spend a good amount of time there, always a good time and always great service. From the owner and every bartender I met I was always treated great. Great place to relax and unwind after a long week. Always found a cigar I liked and good scotch and great conversation. It’s been too long so I will be enjoying a cigar there soon and would recommend Che’root to anyone who enjoys cigars, scotch and good people.

The last two visits my wife and I had here were outstanding. There is a nice variety of quality cigars to choose from, as well as a nice selection of Scotch whiskeys and other alcohols. The seating is perfect for groups, but the furniture is arranged so that there is still intimate seating for a quite chat for 2 or 3 while enjoying a cigar,drink or free board/card games. Both trips Melissa was who helped us, and she is awesome! It was busy and she kept a smile, cut our cigars, made time for a quick chat, made us great drinks and dealt with some difficult customers with class and a smile. Never had to wait or felt rushed. I couldn't finish my cigar so she cut the burnt end and provided a tube to-go, so I wouldn't stink in my car. THANK YOU! See you soon

What a great discovery! I came into town on business from Walnut Creek and stumbled on this little hot spot. Melissa, the host is so accomidating and awesome! If you want Comfort great cigars and a drink and to be treated like royalty this is the spot! The locals here are so hospitable. The perfect place to to relax when I come into town!

Che'root is such an Awesome place. Have been going there with my Husband, My Brother & His wife for a couple years. The ladies that work there are always sweet and attentive. The atmosphere is Amazing! Stay away because I want this spot to myself. Lolol

A wide selection of Cigars starts at $ to $$$ very good flavors and usually a casual place to lounge with a smoke and drink. Not too expensive and sometime you can catch stand up comedy in here.

The ambience and the atmosphere is so cool. A nice selection of cigars as well. The staff is exceptional. I come from out of town to this place since we don't have anything like this in my town.

What a great place. Not sure why it is not on the first page of cigar shops in Modesto but it is the only place you can get a great cigar, some aged, all awesome, and drink scotch or bourbon. The staff is great, and very attractive, and fantastic to watch football. You are foolish not to come for a cigar....

Love the atmosphere, the cigar selection and staff. By far one of my favorite places downtown! Catch a game on one of the many screens or get involved in one of the board games while enjoying a drink and having a cigar. Gina's got something amazing in Che'root!

It’s been so LONG I miss coming here. It was always our second stop from the fox pub. Very homey and comfortable setting. Plenty of cigar options and I haven’t found one I don’t like. Lovely bartenders and everyone that visits are very laid back to talk with
