I called them in a panic at 11 pm on a Friday night because my dog had gotten bit and I couldn't stop the bleeding. The lady on the phone was very calming and told me to come in right away. Once I got there they were very calm cool and collected as I'm sure they could sense my panic as my dog is like my child. They were very attentive and helpful with explaining everything they were doing. They were able to get him in immediately and they gave him three staples and never had any issues after that. I brought him back to get his staples removed 12 days later and it was the most quick and painless procedure and he was back in my arms in less than 5 min. Theodore my little mini pin and I truly appreciate the staff at Standiford veterinary hospital for everything they did that night for us.

I brought my dog down on Dec 23rd at 1AM because she wasn’t going to the bathroom, she was throwing up, and she wasn’t eating or taking any fluids. They ended up finding 15 to 16 bladder stones and they did surgery the next morning. Everyone there is so kind, and caring. They took great care of my girl and made sure I was comfortable in this scary situation!

SVC has always been caring, concerned and courteous. Recently we had to euthanize our beautiful 17 year old cat. It was a heartbreaking time, but the staff and Vets at SVC helped us through it. They also took care of the cremation , which was a great help. I would recommend SVC to anyone seeking veterinary care.

My husband woke me at 4am because he found my cat near death on the couch; suffering from an insulin overdose. I thought she was gone but was breathing faintly. I rushed her to the Standiford Vet Hospital and miraculously they saved my baby! My current vet had not explained that we needed to check her glucose levels every so often so I had been unintentionally poisoning my cat when I thought I was treating her to plan. The doctors and staff at Standiford Vet are extremely professional, timely, and communicative. They answered all of my questions and got my kitty buddy back to me in a matter of days. They pretty much brought her back from the dead! I highly recommend this hospital for the needs of your furry friends.

Called Standiford about 745am on Saturday, let them know we were on our way from Tracy. Brought my baby Jade in about 815am. She was LITERALLY dying in my husband’s arms (trouble breathing) and as soon as we ran through the door, the staff were ready for her. Got updates every 4-5 hrs I think. She perked up a bit during her hospitalized stay but didn’t make it through…

However, I cannot commend enough how amazingly the entire staff handled my emergency. All the interactions and communication we had before we got there, while we were there and over the phone were so smooth, empathetic, and professional. It’s a hefty bill you have to pay, but it’s the ER and worth it.

Last note— I work in VetMed too and this whole situation truly reminded why I choose to work in this field and why VetMed is so important for both pets and their family members. My baby didn’t come home but I truly feel like the Standiford staff did their best for Jade.

A+ place. Yes we had a wait but it was ok. They were professional and caring in our situation. Unfortunately I didn’t get to come home with my boy but they took care of him and us. They were extremely awesome and I’m so thankful in the end for all they did for my boy. It was an emergency and I couldn’t have asked for better care and or treatment. I totally recommend this 24 hour emergency care hospital!! Very compassionate staff.

I know I can always trust the doctors and staff at Standiford to do their very best to help my own furbabies and my fosters. Highly-recommend. Pricing may be higher than others, but it is worth it for guaranteed professionalism and the highest quality of care.

We had to urgently take our 14 year old dog in for her breathing at 4:00am…coming from Lodi. And she had to stay overnight. The staff was great! . Dr Hundal helped us and was very kind and he went through the whole situation, what’s test, oxygen chamber etc. The day doctor Dr. Zac (?) called with a follow up and was excellent…. Gave me the update on how she was doing & next steps.
The following morning we got a call from Dr Hundal who gave us the run down … his recommendations, blood test results etc.
He answered all my questions and my mind was at ease. My dog is doing well.
We had a great experience and I would recommend bringing your family member here!

I just wanted thank the doctor and nurses and staff so much for saving my chihuahua Champ's life
last weekend. He was in critical condition and needed oxygen. If it wasn't for the doctor and staff I would have lost him. I give them five stars and I will definitely recommend them if anyone ever needs emergency care for their animals. Thank you again so much for saving my chihuahua.

My 9 year old dog passed away unexpectedly. I took him in around 10PM to see about his aftercare. Obviously distraught and grieving, the staff was very sympathetic, patient, and caring towards me and my family. They gave me hugs, words of encouragement, and held it together when I couldn’t. I couldn’t have asked for a better team during that time that I was so hurt and confused. They treated me like they have known me for years and really cared. They gave me a card along with Baloos paw prints, nose prints, and a lock of his hair. I know he was in good hands after leaving mine. I appreciate everything they did for us last night. Thank you to the team again.

We just lost our dog last week! It was very hard but the staff, nurses, and doctors were great! They made us feel comfortable and helped a lot in this rough time. I can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend this facility. We appreciate all your help with Kali :(

Kindness and genuine interest in others walk in the shoes of staff and doctors here. Emergency veterinary medicine can be a thankless, heart-wrenching, and sleepless job, and these folks bring a sense of ease and confident compassion to the work. I brought in a two-month-old kitten with a serious injury who in the end required euthanasia and everyone walked me through the options and processes with patience and understanding. Reviewers' comments regarding the need to pay before service proved untrue in my experience as I was informed of costs at each step and not charged until the very end of the visit. We live in a culture where the intersection of financial concerns and compassionate action brings about situations that challenge our natural sense of ethics, and emergency veterinary medicine is an arena where that tension can play out in heart and mind. There is no easy solution to it. Let's reflect together as a culture on how new best practices can emerge that serve all concerned. This is well worth the time and careful reflection. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing staff on board while I was there. Was not too long if a wait for being the ER. Front desk staff very friendly and ready to help. Techs that I had interactions with were friendly and personable. The Veterinarian I saw listened to my concerns and worked WITH me to come up with a plan instead of TELLING me what we need to do. The veterinarian was very knowledgeable and I love the fact that she didn't beat around the bush she was straight to the point. They were very up front and did NOT try to upsale. I feel this place truely cares!

For over 30 years, I've been taking my 6 dogs to Standiford Veterinary. Dr Lattig is my favorite veterinarian, because he's compassionate and loves the dogs. My current pets are Spencer amd Molly.

First off, let me state that I normally don’t do reviews. I’ve probably posted 4 reviews in my life. However, I felt compelled to submit a review based on my experience Standiford Veterinary Center. Our beloved Roxy (Lab/Pit Mix) of 12 years had a medical seizure at our home. My wife advised me she was taking Roxy to
Standiford Veterinary Center based on our previous experience with them. We do not live in Modesto and my wife drove to Standiford Veterinary Center form our local city. Upon arrival, the staff listened and acknowledged my wife’s observations of Roxy’a medical issue. The staff was cognizant to my wife’s concerns. Roxy was taken in for x-rays and it was revealed Roxy had a ruptured spleen and was bleeding internally. My wife called me at work to advise me of the situation. The options were to either have an emergency surgery or to let her pass humanely. I opted for the emergency surgery but the staff advised Roxy probably would not make it through the surgery. My wife advised me that they would semi- sedate Roxy from pain until I could get them from work (1 hour commute). My wife and I were allowed to be with Roxy for approximately 30-40 minutes before she passed. The staff showed enormous compassion during our time of sorrow. We walked out with only Roxy’s dog collar that she’s worn for 12 years. All of the staff gave us condolences for the loss of Roxy on our way out. It’s been six days since Roxy has passed and we’re processing the loss. Today, I came home from work and gathering the mail and found a card from Standiford Veterinary Center. The condolences card was a thoughtful gesture in itself. Inside the condolences card was a set of ink paw prints on a card from Roxy’s paws. The gesture was totally unexpected but was a pleasant surprise during our transfer period. My wife and I want to thank the staff at Standiford Veterinary Center for the compassion and competency with the loss of Roxy. Our experience during these difficult times was aided by our experience with Standiford Veterinary Center.

Had a pup that was bitten by a rattlesnake. She was in pretty dire condition by the time we were able to get her there. They were extremely helpful and had great communication with us to let us know our dogs status. She has since made a full recovery.
They were awesome and I would endorse them wholeheartedly.

126 lb dog has been in there several times and they treated my dog like it was their own I really appreciate how professional and how thorough they are I recommend this place it's easy to get an appointment and if you have an emergency they're open 24 hours

This center saved my dog, her puppies, and my sanity! They were so wonderful when we showed up on a Sunday with a whelping dog in distress. They were so gentle, kind, & loving to our precious girl and us! We were so stressed and we had no clue what to do to help our girl. I will FOREVER be so grateful to this wonderful organization, their staff, and the vets.

We just moved here from another state and everyone was so helpful and really took the time to explain the area we live in and the risks to dogs. They were so good with my husky who is very shy and nervous around new people. We are so happy to have found a vet that loves our girl as much as we do! Dr. Reese (sp) was wonderful!

I am so impressed by this place. There was no wait time at all. They took her in back immediately and within 10 minutes took me back to talk to the doctor. They treated me and my cat with the utmost care and dignity. I knew when I took her in that I wouldn't be taking her home again. They were wonderful and allowed me as much time as I needed to say goodbye. I would highly recommend them. I did not find the cost to be unreasonable. I drove 25 miles to get her there as no vet {weekend] was available to see her.
