How much worse could my experiance possibly be? I am female and I own a cheap bike, a 1985 cmx250 Honda Rebel. I lost my key. My bike needs a carberator (needs gas cleaned because it's been sitting, because I sprained my ankle and thumbs). I called the Simi Valley Honda dealer to ask for advice. I know I can't order a new key. I asked if I should call a lock smith or if they handle that sort of thing. I spoke with Matt in parts. Matt called the manager in service, then Matt told me the manager said I could buy two blank keys from them (the dealer) and call a lock smith to get a key made, but it would be easier to just bring in the bike and get the ignition replaced. I told Matt I would come in and order the blank keys, then I hung up. I thought about it and realized it would be easier to just have the Honda dealer do it all, so I called back and spoke with a woman who did not give me her name. I told her the situation and had decided to just bring my bike in and let them do the work. I told her I would have my bike towed. She confirmed and hung up. I paid $120 for a tow from Thousand Oaks, over the hill to Simi. When I got there, they met me out front. They were expecting me. They told me they don't have the parts, don't work with a lock smith and don't use after market parts. They saw I was a girl with a cheap bike and decided to blow me off. So I had to pay $75 more for the tow back to my home. I drove up the street to a nice motorcycle repair guy on Los Felix who told me to buy the parts for $17 off ebay and he would do the rest for me. Hows that for a morning. This took from 8:30 to 12:45. I will never go to Simi Valley dealer, again.
