Communication is wonderful and questions are always answered in a timely manner. She served us as buyers and then sold our old home. Hello to anyone, curious enough to research Penny Kocan.

I will begin by saying she is a trusted professional. I am retired and was planning to move closer to my family in Olympia. My experience conducting real estate transactions spans 5-decades combined with my executive level management career.

My approach to finding the right real estate broker included researching the marketplace for realtors in Olympia. I identified a group of ten that had the potential to meet my expectations. My selection process and decision was based reading their individual bio’s and importantly being comfortable with the real estate firm they represented. Comfortable equates to demonstrating high level integrity and being reputable. I prepared 10 questions that I was planning to ask each of the ten realtors. Randomly, I selected Penny as my first call. I left a message; she returned my inquiry in a timely manner and we scheduled a convenient time to speak over the phone. I live in another state.

What transpired over the first call surprised me. . .and possibly Penny too. I was transparent with her. Told her my plan to interview 10 realtors, asking key questions about their approach to working with buyers, how long they have been in the business – previous experience too, their success rate, and how they liked to conduct business etc.

I needed to determine if Penny and I were capable of working together. And if she would allow me to have a primary voice guiding the negotiation. I was matter-of-fact. I had experience buying and selling over these many years and enjoyed managing and negotiating high level transactions given my overall experience. Short story. She said Yes, of course, I can. And without boring you further, my decision was made. I did not call anyone else and told Penny that day on that call, I would like to work with her…we both agreed to move forward.

We worked through the COVID years, remote offices and skyrocketing prices…Penny took a thoughtful approach in managing what I was trying to accomplish. To complicate the process, my needs changed several times based on a variety of life event factors, not relevant for disclosure. However, Penny hung in there with me – a few stops/starts. Our communication was open. I did not want to misuse her time and was always clear about my circumstances.

Penny was gracious and professional and made it very clear, “this must be right for you.” Unfortunately, due to positive life experience, I did not relocate. Will I in the future, it all depends on how my life continues to evolve. If I do, Penny will be one of my first calls. And when I visit my family, she’ll be a call for a hello, coffee…

All said, I highly recommend Penny. If you are a discriminating buyer or seller, interested in having excellent representation in a real estate transaction, Penny is one of the best the market has to offer – you should take the time to meet with Penny. Share your objectives. Let her know what you want. And then let her respond. I think you will be pleased with what you hear. Best realtor ever, Penny was able to sell our house fast and way over the price we were expecting. She is an agent you can trust. We first used her service to buy a house and were so happy with the entire process that she was the first person we trust to sell our house. I would 100% recommend her.

In addition to what I expected of a Realtor, she went over and above in researching the market generally and my house in particular. Penny suggested several things I’d never considered which made the sale easier and, honestly, more profitable.
