Frog Pond Grocery

This is my favorite little grocery in town. The owner is great. Aways has a smile on his face and is more then willing to help you if you need it. He'll even place an order for you if it's something he can get if from his vendor. I asked him for a particular flavor of ice cream and it was there within a week. I go there almost daily. If you're in the area and you happen to stumble across I suggest you go in and say hello.

My family and I, who have lived in the neighborhood for over twenty five years, absolutely love the Frog Pond. The service is outstanding and it is great to be to patronize a local, family-owned, business. The Frog Pond has been around in this neighborhood for years prior to our arrival. We appreciate having a store within walking distance to grab necessary items.

To those leaving negative reviews about the pricing and/or selection - it is not a big store, is family owned, and caters mostly to the neighborhood. If you want cigarettes cheaper - go to a smoke shop. If you want food that is right off the delivery truck - go to Safeway, it is less than a mile up the road. This business is perfect for what it is - the local, friendly, neighborhood convenience store! You should expect to pay a bit more, and have less of a selection, for such an amazing luxury.

A staple when we lived in South Capitol. When my SO would work from home, he would walk over and get us a couple of drinks and chips a couple of times a week. We recently moved back to the state and anytime we are in Oly, we stop in. The first time we came back after 2 years, the owner immediately recognized my SO. We love our small Oly businesses, and this is one that should always be supported.

As good as a neighborhood corner store could ever be. Anyone who says service is bad is nuts. I will be a loyal customer until I die.

Small and smelly lol

Love taking my kids on evening walks to get a treat from frog pond. Just make sure you check the expiration date of whatever you're buying.

It should go without saying that the prices here are going to be above-average. That is what you are getting for the convenience of it. If you'd rather not support a small business, take your butt further up the street and go to Safeway.

I like it overall. It has tons of character and the sometimes grumpy nature of the staff add to that. I can see how people may turn their nose up at uneven concrete floors and sometimes dusty old stock on hand but I still like it for all those reasons. It is unapologetic and it is what it is a convenience store that offers items, maybe not exactly what you're looking for, at more cost than at the Safeway. Aren't you tired of the cookie cutter stores? The clerks have always been respectful even when sometime rather grumpy on occasion. Decide for yourself I say but its not far to a big chain grocery store if you'd like to avoid it.

Heavily stocked, they have a lot of food/drink there, as well as accessories for your car or whatever. They have more than your average little convenient stores do. Only a couple negatives I have are, Frog Pond doesn't have gas/diesel. Also no water or air machine for anyone's car.
