Very beautiful place, open to public, recommend to visit if you live here or just a tourist, there’s a nice park with a memorial and a lake nearby. The Capitol building was built in 1928 and it still impressive. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas season with a big new year tree and toys. Open for visitors even during the weekend, I came here on Sunday and the place was very quiet, not many people.

Absolutely stunning! I love the art deco architecture. I recommend taking the tour. Usually I like to go through faster and don't take tours, but not only do you get more info on the tour, they also let you into rooms that are otherwise closed to visitors.

Great architecture to enjoy. There are guided tours available at 11:30 AM on Saturday. Self guided tours are there. Plenty of parking around the area. Weekends are free parking as well as Friday after 5 pm.
The area is more or less empty earlier in the day.

Highly recommend to visit this place. First, a grassy area with a fountain, fabulous and picturesque. Second, legislation building, majestic and phenomenal. Inside and outside are masterpieces of architecture. 100 years history and politics. Cherry blossoms are wonderful in late March or early April. You can visit inside the building 7 days a week freely or by a tour. Listen to senate speakers from gallery in 3rd floor if you have a chance. At the end, buy souvenirs from gift shops in 1st floor. Third, back of the building, a magnificent garden with trees and flowers. I saw bride and groom photography there.
Several parking lots in different locations. They are free at the weekend but metered at weekdays.

05/13/23: I drove all the way from Seattle to see the Capital Building and Campus. They did not disappoint us. The legislative building and surrounding ones are true masterpieces of architecture. I can feel how formal and imposing they are. We came on the weekend so could not get inside. Hopefully, I wish I could have had the chance to visit one day.
Highly recommend this awesome place for educational purposes

Beautiful building, we walked the building saw the 5 ton chandelier, and all the lighting manufactured by Tiffany and Co., the majestic Senate and house Chambers, made from German (green) and French (rose) marble, must of the rest is Alaskan white marble. Outside is locally quarried sandstone. At 230k Sq feet she is a petty big building.

Highly recommend this place to all couples who are looking for a beautiful place to celebrate their Big Day! I was surprised that Washington State Capitol Building is available for the events and ceremonies. Please see the attached pictures and videos from the last weekend where I perform violin live music.👇

So glad I caught the tour of the legislative building! The guide told about the interesting history, gorgeous architecture and how this building and others nearby are currently used. And I really appreciated that a Native American sculpture will be added soon.

We got there early in the morning and was lucky to have the place to ourselves. The grounds were so well kept and parking was easy. The Capitol itself was astonishing. Such a beautiful building. We enjoyed walking around to the different rooms. We even grabbed a bite to eat in the cafe and did some shopping in the gift shop before heading out.

Stately and ornate as Capitol buildings go. We were late for the tour so we just walked around and took pictures. The area open to the public can be visited in under an hour. There are restrooms and a gift shop.

The Capitol grounds are worth checking out too. The sunken garden was particularly beautiful with all the bright colors of summer. There is paid parking for visitors off 11th Ave. Look out for signs for the parking lot once you enter the Capitol premises.

The attention to detail on the buildings are beautiful. The entire place is a beautiful place to visit and definitely suggest you guys to go visit. We weren’t able to go inside or anything but it was still nice to walk around.

Lobby Day at the Capitol building! What an honor to be part of the WAaflcio Legislative Conference. In these photos are our 47th LD meetings with Senator Claudia Kaufman & House Representative Chris Sterns! The Capitol Buildings are so beautiful with such details with the architecture.

Take a free tour or wonder around yourself, but do visit the state Capitol. It is a beautiful building. The tour guide was so knowledgeable. Kids learned a lot and are now interested in seeing our elected officials in session. Gardens are beautiful, but I would wait for Spring or summer to see those. Great gift shop. There is a cafe there as well.

Had not been here in a while, stopped by while coming through area and went on self guided tour. Pamphlets made it easy to get around and check out all the historical and significant pieces and places. Got lucky with the summer weather and it was a great site outside viewing it on the walk around. Check out the basement gift shop for a bunch of cool Washington State stuff.
