Alvaro's Mexican Food

Very good Mexican food at reasonable prices, though it's not that spicy or hot by default; hot sauces, which look like they're made in-house, are available on request in drive-thru or inside the restaurant.
The homemade taco shells are among my favorite features, definitely a treat. The tacos I ordered had a bit less filling than what I remember in the past but still taste really good.
It is no longer open 24 hours, but is open until 1 AM, except Christmas and major holidays. Easy to reach from the freeway.
Have been there again in 11/2023, and little has changed. Still very good Mexican, prices up a bit but that's true everywhere.

Alvaro's Mexican food is really good. I usually get a carne asada burrito or breakfast burrito with no potatoes to go. I have also gotten the chicken taco salad. I usually walk inside to place my order to go. The restaurant is very clean. The food is quality and quite delicious.

Was on my way home from Vegas. I was feeling a bit nostalgic. Pulled in on a whim. I ordered the menudo. WOW, the size of the bowl with all the tortillas was literally enough to put me in a coma! Glad I wasn't driving.

So not only was I greeted at the door by the owner Don Alvaro himself, but even more so besides the fact i immediately noticed the cleanliness of the store, I happen to glance at the reviews and I wondered 3.9 so I honestly did not expect much but I must tell you folks I've had plenty of Mexican food all over the States, so along with the speed of The order was taken and besides the fact that this was my first time eating here I truly take pride in leaving accurate reviews when I report the details about my experience at these restaurants but here at Alvaro's im Saint George I will be personally compelled to state that anywhere from Betos to Rancheritos or the Average competition 🙄 And all the way up to all the other local Hispanic and Latino kitchens and places, whether it be late night or during the day ! I must Say that with all the respect due to the other guys, BUT ALVARO'S Family Recipe ABOVE & BEYOND has the best Chicken Enchiladas Plate 😍🙏🏼🤩🤝🏼second to none TRULY!!!

WOW....even overall in Washington or Saint George...No Overall....Southern Utah Nope! Actually Folks BEST IN STATE OF UTAH!! NO QUESTION! You Absolutely Must Try Em Come check em out. I AM A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼

I think everyone has just gone on bad days, my experience with Alvaros has always been great! Every time I go I'm always happy with the service. Prompt service, Food is what you pay for, and it's just a great all around dingy Mexican taco joint. A customer in drive-thru left in front of me and they kindly gave me their oder free of charge for making me wait.

Grateful they were open at 10:00pm on a Sunday! Got two California burritos 10/10

I haven’t had good Mexican food since I left CA and moved to NC in May of 2021. We now live in UT and this hit the spot! So good! I’m so glad we won’t have to venture out to CA for Mexican food lol

Got the chicken chimichanga platter. The chicken tastes slow roasted, it is so juicy and tender. My first time eating at alvaro's but definitely will be back also better Prices than other Mexican restaurants in saint George.

I search for good breakfast burritos and these were amazing! I was happy all day after that delicious treat.

Four of us had a very nice meal and a lot. The sevice was friendly. It is fast food style. There are several salsa choices - mild to "oh what have I done?! " The parking is tight in some spots and spread out on others.

We drove through and stopped here for breakfast burritos and they were fantastic! If you're in St. George, Utah stop by!

People leave no negative comments but all stingy to give five stars. This place was bomb, food bomb, salsas bomb. Everything was tasty, fresh and authentic. We’ll be back!

I have been eating here for months and my food is always very well served and on point I love the taco Tuesday special 5 Big tacos and drink 10dlls very well served try the adobada awsome.

Best most authentic Mexican food I've had in years. Coming from a Mexican family and living a place like Denver with excellent food, I was highly impressed with the service and the food. Great atmosphere as well. Highly recommended 👌

Delicious, affordable and authentic. I recommend the Alvaro burrito. Finally a meat based burrito that's not 80 percent meat with only a tiny amount of rice and beans! However I don't recommend the chips with cheese. The chips taste good but its literally sprinkled with a bit of shredded cheese - not worth the $2 in my book, but hey, others may love it!

I will definitely be going back!
