Black Bear Diner

Lives up to the original diner started in Mt. Shasta. The decor has the expected theme of Black Bear throughout the diner. The server was friendly and efficient. Food was served hot and was tasty. Although we came on a Saturday morning the food was served quickly with restaurant about 3/4 full. Serving sizes will definitely meet the hungriest appetites.

So. Much. Food. I ate well beyond full because it all tasted so good. Peep the height of the biscuit next to the coffee cup. Easily three layers of biscuit right there, served warm. I was hoping for a little crock of specialty preserves to slather on that biscuit rather than rectangles of Smuckers. Lovely atmosphere full of conversations - easy, comfortable place to share a meal.

Great food, Great service, and reasonably prices. My wife had shrimp and fries and I had the Santa Marie tri tip beef. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The French dip was really delicious! Club sandwich was great! Service was good. It was quite busy at the time.

I absolutely love Black Bear Diner. Over the years, my family and I have dined here in a few different states. When on vacation, we always chose to eat here over the other predictable chains, because we know the quality of food is great, the food options are plentiful, and the portion sizes are satisfying. Speaking of portion sizes… OMG, they are huge. The amount of food you received here is well worth the cost, and you will definitely walk away stuffed and satisfied that you got every bite of your money’s worth. For the kiddos, they definitely have something for even the pickiest of kids. There are also options for vegans, vegetarians, as well as meat lovers.

On our visit, we arrive on a Sunday around 4pm. There were only a few other diners there when we walked in. We were quickly greeted and sat at a booth. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and prompt to take our order. The food arrived hot, fresh, and was fantastic as usual.

For the most part, the restaurant and bathrooms were pretty clean. The carpet really needed to be swept, but I’m sure that’s probably because they must’ve had a busy breakfast/brunch crowd.

Overall, we had a great visit here. I’d definitely return again the next time we find ourselves in St. George.

We stopped for breakfast on our way to Vail, CO. We’ve stopped here several times so we know it’s good.

Friendly service, reasonable prices and good food.

Breakfast orders were chorizo breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict and chicken fried steak and eggs.

The only bummer part was the salsa. More like a can of tomatoes. I preferred the hot sauce they provided on the side.

Food was delicious, quick, and the portions were huge. Service was awesome, and the server was friendly and attentive. I got the 'grizz' and would absolutely get it again. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham, hashbrowns, and eggs. Well worth the money.

I had the Chili Cheddar Cheeseburger and Sweet Potato fries and it was great. My wife had the Western BBQ burger and she said it tasted great as well. I have never seen biscuits so large as what came with the breakfast that my brother-in-law had.
This is a nice little diner with good service and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood.

Tons of great breakfast options and huge portions. Fast and friendly service.

The food and service was great! For breakfast, my fiancé and I got the Grizz & the 2 egg combo with corn beef hash. The pancakes were delicious, moist & fluffy. It was my first time trying huckleberry lemonade, which was very refreshing. Also, our waitress Regina was great, friendly, & attentive, even with how busy I could tell she was.

We'll definitely come here whenever we're in the area! Plus, I think the bear theme with everything is adorable.

We ordered or food online for pickup. Upon arrival the food was readyand the lady at the counter was very nice and helpful. When i got home the food was hot and very delicious. I would recommend this place everyday

We came on Christmas evening as we had traveled to see a friend in the hospital. We were grateful for the few who were working this evening with a limited Christmas menu. We ordered to go as there were a large number of people waiting. We got our order quickly, and it was delicious. Despite the busyness, the staff had smiles on their faces as they worked to tame the hungry on this holiday.

I usually review the quality of food in places I visit (as I'm a foodie), but this time around I want to comment on the quality of service at this place. We were served by Chris, and in all honesty, I have been so impressed by his level of professionalism, courteousness, attention to detail, ability to almost predict his clients' needs in the moment, that I felt compelled to write this review. Amazing job, Chris! This place is lucky to have you. Oh, the food is great, too :)

We came on Christmas from out of town. Black Bear Diner was one of a few places open for dinner but they had a limited menu that was all fancy thanksgiving like food and my son wasn’t going to eat that so we went to find a place with chicken tenders.

BUT, thanks for being open. It was very busy there and that’s nice of you.

The food at Black Bear Dinner always tastes as good as it looks and it always looks good. The Original ScramBowl is great, I wanted to take a photo but forgot as soon as it arrived.
I have had several great breakfasts at BB. However, when I went to the all you can eat fish fry, they change out the cod for catfish, they do list it as white fish not cod. The sweet tea had lemons? The dinner so far has over two whole lemons and the batter on the cod was not a fluffy batter it was thin and firm like the cod. the batter on the catfish was traditionally catfish hushpuppy batter. The beverages had different prices on the glossy menu at the table than the paper menu they take away making overcharging easy or an honest mistake?

This is the best Black Bear Diner I've been to. Both the taste of the food and service were great. We had the bacon burger, turkey club sandwich with French fries, and the Taco Salad. They're Diet Dr. Pepper is very good.

Greatly enjoyed my food, the staff, my waiter were all excellent! The prices are fair as well... will definitely be back or try different locations.

Oh my word! Their food is amazing! You really get your money’s worth here. I ordered a sweet potato fries for starters (expecting the typical pathetic small serving), oh boy was I surprised when they came out with a giant full plate of fries! That’s not all, but the pictures say the rest.

Excellent food and service. Come hungry because this place serves large portions for a very affordable price.
