Civil War and More

Found the store on a tip through a Facebook post in an unrelated group and couldn’t have been more pleased. Stopped in for one book and ended up with four.

Jim, the shop owner, is a subject matter expert on both local and national history of the war. The local in particular you won’t learn about down the road in Gettysburg. I know a good amount about the Civil War and I learned a lot while in Jim’s shop. Take the time to learn and listen and it will be a worthwhile experience.

The shop is less than 20 minutes from Gettysburg, if you don’t make the trip you’re doing yourself a disservice.

Jim has a great store and it’s always a pleasure to shop there and talk with Jim. There is a great selection of books to browse through. I have to say Civil War and more is one of those stores that keeps you coming back! I drive from the Philly suburbs to shop at Jim’s store and always leave with several books. A great store and a good resource!

Mr Schmick runs a great store! He is always accommodating and friendly. He has been a great resource for what I am looking for with a pleasant and can do attitude with very quick response times.

The owner was very knowledgeable of not only the national events but also the local. He also offered personalized tours of all of the local and regional battle sites. The store although small was crammed with many books and artifacts. My only regret was that I did not have the time to peruse all of the shelves to satisfy my curiosity

This store is the perfect example as to why small business will always out shine big box stores. Stopped in to check it out, and ended up not only leaving with hard to find books, but having an amazing conversation with the owner. This is a must shop stop for any history buff.

One of the best if not the best Civil War and Military bookstores in the USA. From the rare volumes to the latest release, the store has the book(s) you are looking flor. Biographies, campaigns and individual battles, “Civil War and More,” has it or will get it for you.
Not only books, but high quality ephemera - shirts, mugs, figurines, maps and other neat Civil War based items.

You cannot beat the selection of civil war titles at this store. Much better selection than the chain stores and also most of the stores in Gettysburg. Jim is the man to see if you are interested in the civil war and the events that occurred in this area. Highly recommend Civil war and more!

Tons of good books to choose from. Maps, mugs, bullets, kids books, and much more. Jim is one cool guy and very friendly. Can’t wait to go back.
