Dr. McKenna changed my life! For many years I had fallen off with dental care and my smile suffered. I kept meaning to get some restoration done but moving several times and then the pandemic hindered that. I had stopped showing my teeth when smiling in pictures and was so self conscious. I also used to be really afraid of the dentist even for a cleaning as an adult sometimes crying in the waiting room. He and Jessie restored my smile and I have never been more confident. I am now eager to smile in pictures. Yolanda is also so good with your regular checkups. I never felt so relaxed before. Bonus they give you headphones with music which helps my nerves and drowns out some of those unpleasant sounds. I had a great experience and would recommend this office to anyone, especially if afraid of the dentist or trying to turn your bad habits around. There is no judgement here but great education on how to do better.

I have never had a dentist I loved. Dr. McKenna was incredible. I have had some bad dental work in the past and he fixed the issues as well as explained to me what he was doing to correct the work as he went. Super friendly and made me feel so comfortable the entire time. Yolanda is great company as well, super sweet! Extremely sad I’m moving out of state and won’t be able to continue using his practice.

Dr McKenna and his staff are wonderful. my family and I have been going here since he started practicing. He is an awesome dentist. I take my mother who is 94 here and she can be difficult at times and they treat her great! Dr. McKenna caters to people who are nervous and makes them feel at ease. He has never hurt anyone of us and we have never had any problems with his dentistry. Anytime I had a problem or emergency he was always there. I’ve had friends who went to him and went elsewhere due to insurance and said that his work is far better. People who say his work is subpar or he doesn’t help you in any way possible must be lying. Reading these bad reviews makes me mad. the one doctor I will never change even if my insurance doesn’t cover is Dr McKenna.

I have been with this practice for 5 years. I have always received the utmost professional care from Dr. McKenna and his staff. Dr. McKenna takes his time and explains everything to you and does not rush. I have dental anxiety and Dr. McKenna and his staff makes you at ease and comfortable and I trust him. I have referred coworkers to him and my son also now goes to him....every one of them just as satisfied. Dr McKenna cannot retire, that is all I am saying. :)

My kids and myself LOVE this office. My four-year old ASKS to go see Dr. McKenna on a regular (read: daily) basis. I've had two extractions there; both painless, even though the second was quite difficult. I am now in the process of how to "fix" my current dental dilemmas. Dr. McKenna sat with me and explained what needs done, and asked ME how I would like to proceed and what MY concerns were. He then tailored the plan to take care of my primary concern first, he explained that this entire process isn't a "quick fix" , which I already knew. He's professional, and dedicated to truly helping you. The hygienists are also all very friendly, as well as quick and gentle (as can be). When I say that, it's no easy feat. I'm in the process of getting some serious scaling work done, which from my prior dentist was EXTREMELY painful. Years later, I'm now with Dr. McKenna's office and when I leave these appointments I don't even feel the need to take an ibuprofen. I now drive an HOUR to come to see Dr. McKenna and staff - and I wouldn't change a thing. We recommend him to EVERYONE - both children and adults. Thank you, Dr. McKenna!!!

Dr. McKenna was nothing less than amazing. I have been to other dentists in the area and the level of comfortability he gave you was above and beyond. Explained every little step and made sure you understood exactly what he was doing and why. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist.

My mom & dad began going to Dr. McKenna before I was born in 1982. They brought me along & had me sit on the floor so I could play with a tooth brush & get me acclimated to the atmosphere, him, & everything else. Aside from regular cleanings & repairs, I've have extensive ortho work (McKenna does that, too!). I cannot thank him & his amazing staff for everything they do. When others brag about their dentist (or orthodontist) they must be lying, because no one beats McKenna! My husband & now even some friends see him, too. I've never known fear, pain, nor anything anyone speaks of when they complain about stereotypical dentists because I have MCKENNA! McKenna Dental better be around forever, because y'all are irreplaceable! Thank you for everything! (1988/2020 photo comparison)

It’s really hard to find a good dentist you can trust. We have been patients of dr. McKenna for over 20 years and trusted him with our kids dental care as well. We wouldn’t think of going to another dentist. His knowledge and experience are by far the best. He also follows up personally after a procedure.

I am terrified of the dentist because of the military and when I tell you that I didn't freak out when I got my teeth cleaning or when Dr. McKenna did my root canal I was super relaxed and very happy with my end results! I would recommend this to anyone asking for a great dentist! They are all very helpful and respectful! My whole family goes here and we will all keep coming back for sure!

Excellent emergency care. All my options were fully explained. I was told to feel free to call if I needed anything at all after my visit.

Dr. McKenna is a good doctor of dentistry, but as a Center they lacks communication. The staff always tells different information and does not clarify information to patients. Before you get there be sure to call your insurance. Also, please make sure you ask the team at McKenna Dental for a paper explaining everything to you, because if you don't, then they will send another bill with other information that they don't give from the beginning. Thank you.

Would give even less than a one star if I could. His front desk person (Collin) is 100% incompetent! 4 wasted days off of work for appointments that weren’t accurate because Collin doesn’t know how to do his job but only works there because daddy owns the place. It’s a shame the place has gone down hill.

I did not have a good experience with McKenna Dental. When I first inquired if they accepted my insurance they claimed they did. They lied. They only cover cleaning and xrays. When my son needed extractions I was told it would cost $2,000.00. I replied I thought you accepted my insurance. I have had extractions and I paid 0. When I found a dentist that accepted my insurance I contacted them needing a referral and xrays. I was told to fax a letter which I did. When my husband called he was told fax machine has to be checked. You have to call later. The proper thing would have been let me have your phone number and I will call you back. When he called again he was told I think we have the fax. I decided to call to make sure the fax was received. The person that answered the phone was very unprofessional. She told me my husband had called 7 times. Why am I calling I should speak to him. I explained she was not very clear with him and that I had questions. I also explained to her that I did not like her tone of voice. It is her job responsibility to answer questions about a patient. It seem obvious that she does not like her job. I also let her know I would never do business with McKenna Dental again. I was very disappointed in their customer service.

The hygienist are nice people and great!

But office procedures messed up and always different. The bills were always different and messed up.
“Shady”

Dentist told my son not to wear his retainer and caused my sons teeth to move and all his wearing of braces was back tracked. I was mad at myself as well that I trusted him.

So Trust was broken in that office!

Have been a long time patient there. Jerry Mckenna has a great knowledge of the industry, unfortunately his "Dental Plan" does not always fit everyones budget. His priority seem to be what "He feels" rather than what your interest is. Had several emergency situations where he was not willing to assist or stay after hours (even though his office is also his residence)and had staff relate to seek the ER rather than he help. He seemed to be a much better dentist more down to earth years ago before the aesthetic work he had done. Seems a bit full of himself now.

His first assistant, the lady from the Philly area, with a very identifiable Philly tongue, was extremely......well let's say Philly, (nothing against Philly just a bit rough around the edges at times) she is no longer there.

His office staff, as other reviews reflect, is by far the worst to deal with just atrocious. His office manager, (who is his daughter), is extremely rude and unprofessional. Very clearly she does not enjoy her job (or possibly much of anything). (Guess you should'nt work for Daddy) There are a few employees that are cordial but that is by far the exception vs the rule.

There are many dentists in the valley, I would highly recommend you seek treatment elsewhere. It is truly a shame businesses need to operate this way. They seem to forget patients are the reason for there existence not the other way around.

AVOID! Very rude staff that lacks professionalism! Standard of care is sub par if that. I have seen several dentists through out the years and these folks are below average. No matter how well you check with them about insurance coverage they will find a way to send you a bill to nickel and dime you. They also told me I needed a filling. Getting them to get you a copy of X-RAYs is a marathon with these folks. After finally getting them to send me a copy, I showed the X-RAY to my best friend who is a dentist. He said I am totally fine. Crooks! AVOID!
