An experience unlike any other. For four days I was surrounded by beautiful music and people, and was able to create memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. The Philadelphia Folk Festival is something that I feel everyone should experience at least once, for after that one time you're not going to be able to go without.

Was there in 1969 or 70, volunteering and camping after missing Woodstock. Rained all weekend anyway. Transformative. I think I remember Sly made a cameo, but can't find confirmation. We're you there?

Very fun for anyone. There are things for families and kids to do, and the staff was amazing.

This is the best festival by far, hands down. There is so much to do, very family oriented and volunteer run. Just a great experience all around I have been going for 20ish years volunteering for 15 of them.

I always keep coming back. There is something truly special about the music, the people, the culture, and the atmosphere. The food vendors are always top notch.

A part of history for me and my family. Great people, great experiences. The campground scene is revelatory.. hard to return back to the real world after a week here. The musical acts could be better - but they always have a few good ones and plenty of amazing lesser known musicians too. Wide array of styles all under the folk umbrella. It’s not just acoustic guitars and banjos.

I have been going to this festival every year of my life. It is a family tradition that I have also introduced friends to. I highly recommend volunteering, specifically, with the Camping Committee, I've been born and raised in this committee, we work hard and play hard too! Volunteers receive two wonderful, large meals(breakfast and dinner) a day! I usually always have leftovers to keep me filled for lunch too. Also, make sure you try to take the hayride to the pancake breakfast either Saturday or Sunday at a local firehouse and make sure at some point you go on top of the green bus! Also make it to the Celtic Afternoon Concert on Sunday afternoon, be ready to dance! Whenever Tempest is there, and they come usually, every other year, they are super energized and get the house jumping!

Sure, the music is amazing in both quality and quantity. Sure, there's food and beer and beautiful things to buy. But, really there's the campground. It's the silliest, most joyous, most musical place on Earth where, God have mercy, the party never stops!

Always a great time to be had at the folk festival. Lots of food and drink and the music, sweet music just cascades over the crowd. That's love.

The longest running folk festival in America! A great place to see music and make friends. The campground experience is the best part of it. Thousands of friendly volunteers make it happen and you too can be one of them!

I've camped at the fest the last 10 years. It's great and there is a reason it's been around for 50+ years. Pretty easy camping all things considered. Plenty of food, ice, and water available at all times. There is quiet camping available too if you have young children or you need sleep. It is pretty noisy late night for sure otherwise.

You cannot drive into the camping area. If been to music festivals where you camp next to your car. This is not one of them. Shuttles are available to move your stuff if you cannot move in on foot. Lot of people bring wagons, etc which make moving a little easier.

If camping is not your bag then they do have day passes to just go see shows. Several stages run shows at the same time so make sure you check the schedule not to miss anyone you really wanna see.

The main stage is built on a natural hill for good sound wherever you sit. Special seating upfront can't be purchased for an extra fee. Most people just bring a blanket or folding chair and find a spot on the hill. Beer tent and food trucks are available at the shows also. Craft tents, merch, and other stages are adjacent to the main stage areas. No covered areas for rain so keep that in mind. Bathrooms are porta potties.

No place quite like it. Oldest continuously running outdoor music festival in North America. I beheld an impromptu trio of a bagpiper, a man with a didgeridoo, and a cellist play amazing graze as the sun came up in the middle of the campgrounds. The pipes came first, then the didge' walked over and the cello waddled it's way down a moment later from another camp. That's the stuff that doesn't just happen outside of the Philly Folk Fest.

I *adore* the fest! Been going off and on since 1994. It's a family tradition! As long as you don't mind a little lively partying, camping is the way to go. The pics I have are NSFW. 😂

I had a spectacular day yesterday. I could stay cool with cooling my sarong and wrapping it on my head..cooling my feet and drinking cool water from the water stations. The music, especially from the songwriters that speak their truth and social ills through their poetry...like Todd Fasnaught and others of old times.

The most welcoming fun festival in a hot field I have ever been too. I always discover new acts, enjoy the festivities in the campground, and listen to great music.
