Animal Hospital of Rye

We are re so very thankful for Dr. Kirmayer and the staff at Rye. When we began our journey a year ago with our Willow girl she was very sick and her condition was unknown. Dr. Kirmayer spent countless visits with her and started treatment for Cooper Storage disease the compassion and caring he showed was amazing (even though she would always threw him for a loop and he once told us he loses sleep knowing she was on his schedule the next day because it was always something new and unexplained with her). We thank god everyday for Dr. Kirmayer and the compassionate staff at Rye for the care they have and still provide Willow. She actually loves to go to Rye, without them she may not be here today. She today is a healthier, happier dog thanks to Rye.

Dr. Kirmayer has been so great! I took my French Bulldog there after being referred from our primary vet for ultrasounds. My frenchie requires a lot of specialized care when at the vet (he does not like to be touched and puts up a good fight). He had patience and really seemed to care about what was going on with my little guy. When the results came back with nothing wrong, he took the time to listen to me and really work through the issues to figure out what was next when I insisted something was definitely wrong. I can’t say enough how great this place has been, even the front of the house staff when calling/scheduling appointments, everyone has been so kind! I felt such compassion. It was a bit of a drive for me, but definitely worth it! I also felt everything was fairly priced, as well!

I made an appointment with Dr Kirmayer after having been to several different veterinary offices with no resolution of the issues with my greyhound. After a thorough work up, IV fluids were given and adjustments were made to medications used. My dog is already more comfortable than she has been at any time since Thanksgiving. I have made plans to begin using the Animal Hospital of Rye for all veterinary care for my two greyhounds. The trip from Camp Hill is well worth it for the quality of care rendered. Thanks to the entire staff for their compassion and care.

We took our golden retriever here when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. We walked in thinking we would lose her and left with hope. She's undergoing treatment now. Everyone there has been fantastic, friendly and really show care and concern for our sweet girl.

I absolutely love this place, expensive but honestly they saved my dogs life. Dr K is honest, blunt and lays down the facts. Cowboy is lucky because if his condition would have went any further, untreated, I would have lost my best friend. Thank you Dr K, for being an amazing physician to my boy.

After having a terrible experience at another Vet we were referred here. Dr Harpster was wonderful and the entire experience was positive.

Best Vet I've ever had the pleasure of going to! Staff is friendly and caring! The doctors communicate well and care! They took FANTASTIC care of our Bert after he was shot. Love this place and the people there!

I recently moved and needed a veterinarian closer to my home. Dr. Davis performed routine exams on my 4 cats. One item I noticed immediately was her innate ability to assess the disposition of each pet and adjust her exam techniques accordingly to reduce their stress. The entire staff was kind, professional and compassionate. I am very grateful that I found such a wonderful practice to care for my pets.

Haven't been here BUT the phone call was very friendly and that's a good start.

Dr. K will forever be my angel on Earth. He saved my dog during a time when two other vets had no idea what was going on and who were ready to put my dog to sleep. Can you imagine putting your dog down and not having one iota as to why? I just couldn't do it. In ONE DAY, my dog was feeling better and I had answers. He saved his life! They have everything you could ever need too in regards to equipment. So I no longer have to worry about being referred to another vet anymore to get advanced testing. I'm really grateful to have found this place and for the caring people who are working there. Top notch!

My original vet sent me to Rye and it was the best decision ever. I took my senior pup for surgery and they were awesome. The docs were straight foward and everyone was extremely pleasant. Highly recommend to everyone!

This was my first time there and I had a pup with really sore paws. They took great care of him and were efficient and professional through the appointment. They met me in the parking lot and filled me in on everything they found with my dog and within 24 hours he was already showing signs of improvement. I was really happy with the care that we received.

Wonderful customer friendly staff that clearly loved animals. Spotless facility. Dr. Whalen was great with my puppy. She was kind, but thorough on her exam. She also took time to answer my questions. I highly recommend them.

Everyone there was very polite we had a wonderful experience with them and on different visits we saw several vets they were all wonderful and the surgeon who operated on our fur baby he was wonderful also we would recommend the Rye Animal Hospital

Excellent service for my pup at Rye! I live in GA, but my dachshund Dobby needed to have some sutures removed while I was visiting family in PA. Dr. Harpster did a great job with the sutures removal AND helped solve a mystery eye condition that has been bothering Dobby for months. Vets are few and far between in rural PA, and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking. (Also, my parents take their dog here, and Rye is really great about not pushing them to spend a lot of money.)

Saw Kirmayer for a Second opinion or at least confirmed diagnosis of Congestive heart failure. They're blood analysis and x-ray eval were excellent. Dog is off meds and he recommended a few other things to change in the home. I agree it's pricey but I just saved my dog from Kidney failure from the meds he was on! Scheduled my other dog to see him in a few weeks.

The entire staff has treated each of my cats with unconditional TLC. They are knowledgeable, willing to answer every single question I can think of, return calls promptly, and even back a few days after visits just to check in. They go above and beyond. I could not recommend them more highly.

I will say, the prices here are a bit higher than other vets in the area.. BUT... and that's a biggg BUT... if you want your animals to recieve the best and most thorough care while dealing with the friendliest and most helpful/personable staff in the world.. then I suggest you go here. And technically it is an animal hospital. So that could be the reason for the prices being a little higher than regular vets around here. In my opinion, those extra dollars are WELL worth it. Im willing to accept that because I know I can trust the well being of my pet in their hands. And the peace of mind that comes along with that is truly priceless.

I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Rye. I went there for a consultation about my dog's hind-leg limping after receivng opposing opinions from two other veterinarian clinics. My appt. was with Dr. Kirmayer. Dr. Harpster was also brought in for further evaluation (his expertise on their website states orthopedic surgery). They were honest, up-front, and didn't push surgery. Fortunately my dog's hip problems were not as severe as I feared. I was given ways to help him--none of which were terribly expensive. Their on-site physical therapy was an option, but that was not pushed on me either.
