Mountain Valley Foods

This is the best place in the valley to get items in bulk and reduce usage of disposable plastics. Their customer service is excellent. They allow and encourage reusable containers. I have on occasion run into some issues with their bulk goods and produce, but the staff have always listened and acted respectfully to make it right. (Edit: removed comment re: sometimes I did in the past encounter some less than fresh garlic, but that was a while ago, and since the last time I've only found the best garlic there)

The hot soup bar is always a treat. Today is the sunchoke and parsnip soup and it delightful! The tumeric, ginger, carrot orange juice special is also divine. Good job MVF; everything is clean and tasty. Consistent in my book since 2011! Love you guys!

The employees of MVF are incredible! Very kind and helpful. A great variety for a small store. As a vegan I really love the fresh meal options. The vegan potato salad, pumpkin chia seed pudding and vegetable medley are to die for! It's my go to alot for a healthy lunch. Also love the dried fruit options especially the dried mango and jack fruit. ❤🫶👏👍

One of the cleanest grocery stores I've ever been into, Mountain Valley Foods has a great bulk bin and there are always a few deals to be found throughout the store.

I keep sampling different prepackaged deli food they make in store, and they are all excellent thus far - besides being of the "eat clean" variety, they are always bursting with flavor (the chili lime quinoa mix I got a week ago still lingers in my taste buds memory).

The staff has always been friendly every time I've gone in as well, and unlike a lot of these co-ops, the focus here seems to be on the food, rather than focusing on whatever the social justice dujour of the day is (looking at you Natural Grocers).

Great store. Love the organics. Nice juice bar and espresso. More room for everything yummy since they expanded the space. Now if they would only expand their unaccommodating hours we would all be happy! 10 am is late for any store let alone a grocery store. Be wonderful to be able to pick up some hot organic soup on my way to work. But they open late and close early!

The organic turmeric chickpea and vegetables is the most delicious food I've ever had in my life! I'm not elaborating...

Stopped for the first time today and will definitely be back. Loved finding a grocery with a great selection of not only bulk foods - tons of rice, grains, flours, etc. - but also refill stations for honey, soy sauce, tamari, other foods, and also dish and laundry detergents! Very interested in those. As for price, wild rice was as inexpensive as I've seen in the valley, including what's available via big online retailers. So while some pricing might be high, a savvy shopper or someone who makes the sacrifice for one-stop shopping won't be fazed. Let's be real about the pricing capabilities of small specialty shops, though. I was impressed by both the tidiness of the store as well as ready-made sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc., and someone popped up to a register before I even came to a full stop behind another customer. Seems like a great little shop!

What a great store! Really great selection of health and "alternative" foods with SUPER friendly staff! I really appreciate that they care about providing quality, ethically sourced foods to Kalispell. Will definitely be back!
