Mitchell Hawleyville Deli and Cafe

This is a top-notch gas station and deli that offers a variety of services to its customers, making it one of the best in Newtown, CT.

First and foremost, I must highlight their competitive gas prices. It's always nice to know that you can fill up your tank at a fair price!

Moving on to their deli, I must say that it's absolutely fantastic. They offer a wide range of freshly made sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other delicious food items. The deli also offers both inside and outside sitting areas, which is great if you want to enjoy your food in a relaxed setting.

Another aspect that deserves a high five is their coffee machines and quality coffee! The coffee is always fresh and the machines are very easy to use. I find it very convenient to grab a cup of coffee on my way to I-84.

Finally, I must mention the welcoming and friendly deli staff. Lori is always greet everyone with a smile! :-) The deli staff is incredibly friendly and always eager to help.

I would highly recommend Mitchell Gas Station and Deli to anyone who is looking for a great gas station and deli experience.

Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches around. And for a solid price. The cheese is always nice and melted, bacon not overdone, and egg perfectly cooked, even the roll might be lightly toasted. I appreciate there hard work and consistency !! Way to be chef !

Louri was absolutely amazing!!! I keep going back to this deli because her service and the food are always great!!!! When I travel from Florida to visit I ALWAYS have to stop in for a yummy breakfast sandwich and Louris excellent service!!!

Found by chance looking for fuel on my drive. Sandwiches are delicious, this will be a regular stop whenever we are driving thru this area.

Nice clean deli with (previously) good quality breakfast and coldcut sandwiches. I would give 5 stars, except I find them to be very inconsistent. Sometimes the eggs on my bacon egg and cheese are cooked perfect, and sometimes they're so overcooked they're rubbery.

I've also noticed a big decline in quality of ingredients used. When I first started going they had the BEST chicken cutlet sandwiches, they were so juicy and delicious. Now, they're using a frozen patty that's made of reconstituted chicken, which really is not appetizing.

I understand that food prices have seen a sharp increase, but to compromise this much quality is disappointing.

Today was my first time here and as people with would it’s a hidden gem! I got the Bourbon Steak Grinder and it was absolutely amazing, great seasoning the only thing I would change is that it was cooked at least medium but it was still tender enough, that’s not enough to remove a star. Also the coffee here is really good nice and bold and not too acidic. Definitely worth stopping in!

Great place! The deli in here has awesome breakfast sandwiches! The lunch menu is pretty good too. There is a great selection of convenience items, drinks and snacks in the store section. Of course you can get a fill at the gas station too!

My wife said “ New deli at Mitchell’s gas station, Exit 9… Let’s check it out. I had the Bourbon Chipotle Steak sandwich. It’s the Best Steak sandwich I’ve had in years. They did mention it takes 10 minutes to prepare, because they use Real Steak…was that ok? Yes, Well worth the Wait! This is my New Go to Deli Spot. Good place to go for gasoline and fresh made food for breakfast and lunch fresh brewed coffee, soda & juice and all other daily need products.

Not from the area but every time we are around, we stop here. We’ve had breakfast, lunch sandwiches, and desserts all there and never disappoints

Excellent grilled chicken wrap. Grilled chicken on gluten free cheesy bread was also delicious. Great sized sandwich! Ordering through the app was smooth and super easy! Highly recommend.

This is a very nice gas station, convenience store. Haven't eaten there yet, but the crowd of people buying breakfast every morning must mean something good's being made. I've used the tire air machine. It's a nice one with but in gage. Free if you go inside and have them turn it in.

Often stop here to grab breakfast, usually helped by the nice girl in the blizzard sweater. The staff are friendly, foods good, and i never wait too long for my food.

I recently started going there for lunch and I have to say they sandwiches are AMAZING and the service is even better. The people there are incredibly friendly and so helpful. It is my new GO TO spot for lunch. I must recommend the Bronx Bomber. It is DELICIOUS!
